The cat was as a thief in the night
As he stole away the day's last light.
The beauty of words, he stole too,
Along with a clock and a lawyer's left shoe.
He wore the shoe and danced with the clock,
Because as for words, he had in great stock.
But no longer spoketh the tribes of the nation,
For this little cat stole Personification.
Mysterious metaphors, this cat took six,
Stole away similies till in a fix.
This cat is a feline felony,
Honey, you're telling me,
This is just another of his word tricks!
They're no fashion faux paws,
They're the Big Cheese,
No matter the fur coats,
Persian or Siamese.
They're doing the catwalk
With paint-polished claws
The crowd of cats cheer
With shouts and applause.
Kittens beg their parents:
"Take us to the catwalk please!"
My cat is orange
Yours is black
You stole my cat
I want it back
Or I'll take yours
And return it to you
Painted the color
