These cakes are available in my Storenvy [link] and Etsy [link] or you can just buy them directly from me
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Specially to ^maytel, at least one of this slices is coming your way!
I love these cakes! Last time I made red velvet cake I received feedback telling me that the color is actually darker... so I listened Each slice has pure white frosting, it looks so fluffy each slice includes a tiny red heart, the hearts have a slight color marbling, it's an adorable effect. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, and I think I got the color of red velvet cake perfectly this time I actually decided to make a full cake this time instead of making slice per slice, it saves a bit of time but it requires more dedication to texture them all at once without going insane. But they look so adorable together, so it was worth it
I actually didn't try red velvet cake until a a week ago, we were hanging out with some friends when we passed by a bakery and they had red velvet cupcakes... I asked Oka to buy me one since I had never tried red velvet. I didn't think the flavor was anything special, it was kind of chocolatey, kind of sweet, and kind of meh. I don't know if that's what red velvet cakes are supposed to taste like, but I'm not impressed so far! Red velvet is not a popular flavor here in Mexico and that was actually the first bakery that I've seen selling them, so maybe they were doing them wrong. I will try to find another bakery and give it another chance.
Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay by me! No molds or pre-mades were used, 100% handmade one by one with love. The techniques and materials I used were explained in my polymer clay cake tutorial.
I'm currently finishing the tutorial to make these cookies, it should be ready tomorrow I hope you'll like it! Edit: It's here! [link]
I took a lot of photos of the mini cookies with several findings that I bought (ebay) and I thought they were adorable, so I put them together like this to show some ideas. I thought they looked great so I decided to post them as a sort of preview to the tutorial, and also to encourage me to finish it by tomorrow since I already wrote I will post it tomorrow and I can't let you all down!
The cookie jar is actually an old photo, and the cookie bowl looks familiar this newer version looks a lot more realistic! I wonder if I should update my avatar...
The cookie bowl is meant as doll house prop, the cookie plate and cookie jar as pendants, the cookie platter can be a pendant or a bracelet, and the cookie tray is a ring the cookie plate and platter would also make great charms or cellphone decorations. They will be available when I re-open my stores and commissions
Technical stuff: The cookies are all handmade with polymer clay by me, no molds or pre-mades were used. The bowl was also made by me using the techniques explained in my polymer clay bowl tutorial. The metal findings were purchased on ebay and the glass jar comes from a local craft store.
Cakes... so many cakes a couple of months ago I got a lot of orders for cakes, and I took some photos. Rainbow cakes are now my most popular cake, you can get your own here with any decoration that you want. At about the same time I also got a commission for a blue fondant cake with a white rose, an old design that I really love because it looks so delicate... I decided to take some update photos of how I do them now, just lightly more realistic because now I include a delicious golden browning of the cake. You can get your own here.
The first cake was special, it was made for my brother-in-law who asked me to add "gay bacon strips" to the cake, which apparently is a term used by the people that like Epic Meal Time (I'm not one of those people). I made them curly like real bacon. They are just rainbow belts, the fake sugar was a gift from my dear friend =moofestgirl I happened to have a rainbow cellphone strap that matched it pretty good!
Cakes always make me so happy so I hope these cakes will go to good homes and make more people happy
To learn how to win these cakes check out my latest journal: [link]
These are four of my favorite cakes: - Blue Fondant Cake with white rose: One of my friends called it "her dream wedding cake", so true! - Red Velvet Cake with white frosting: And a tiny red heart super romantic and cute. - Strawberry Shortcake: A classic on my store. - Portal Cake: The cake is a lie! A slice of black forest cake styled to look like the Portal Cake.
Technical stuff: All handmade by me one by one without the use of molds. I made them with the techniques explained in my cake tutorial, I have a video showing how to make the texture and another one for the frosting.
As always, every comment and suggestion is much appreciated you guys always make my day!
This was an amazing commission I loved the idea from the minute I read it. It was really fun to do, complicated due to the small size and lots of details... but really fun just the kind of thing I love to do. These earrings are a combo of my citric and cake dangling earrings, which can be found in my Etsy and Storenvy (links above).
These are Portal Cakes with Lemon Grenades and some regular lemon halves. I copied the Portal Cake from the outside, and since it's supposed to be a Black Forest Cake I added some tiny cherries to the filling. Making the chocolate shavings on the right scale and texturing something so small was a challenge.
The Lemon Grenade was tricky because the pieces needed to be precise and straight to look realistic, otherwise they end up looking too cartoonish. I made my best to look the clay look like rusty metal.
I love how polymer clay can be manipulated to look like a translucent cherry, creamy frosting, delicate chocolate shaves, crumbly cake, though metal, juicy pulp, and citric peel... it's simply magic T_T I only used a bit of paint for the metal effect, the rest is all polymer clay.
Technical stuff: All handmade by me with polymer clay, no molds, bought pieces or premades were used, 100% me the cake was made using the techniques explained in my many cake tutorials (which can be found in my DA and YouTube). Glaze and the tiniest bit of acrylic paints were also used.
This was a commission I received from a girl that obviously loves rainbows I made rainbow cake cellphone charm, ring and pendant, and a couple of tiny adorable stud earrings, everything with rainbow chips on top for the charm bracelet she asked me to make a variety of foods, so I made (from the top, clockwise): a rainbow ice-cream (the cone is covered by the scoop), a rainbow popsicle, rainbow frosted donut, rainbow chip cookie, rainbow lollipop, and rainbow frosted butter cookie I think I should have offered her a rainbow keychain too, that's the only thing that's missing for a full set!
So many rainbows if anyone is interested in a commission similar to this let me know! everything shown here is available for commission.
Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay by me, no molds or whatsoever were used. A tiny heart cutter was used for the heart cookie. Glaze was used to make some parts shiny. This is all colored clay, nothing was painted!
Somewhat easy designs but so adorable! These are so sweet and colorful, and really fun to make I think that lollipops are one of the most adorable and fun things to do, I love matching the colors and swirling them. I get a tiny bit obsessed with making the swirls even and with just a tiny bit of white between them, I think that makes them pop and more realistic too! The "wooden" stick is made out of clay too, I like to poke the headpin all the way through the lollipop because that makes it so much durable. If you only poke the stick it can fall or break easily, but this way it lasts technically forever
The tiny flower was an addition that I thought would look cute I used a pink micro bead for accent. Everything else is polymer clay.
I was going through my hard drive and I found this photo, I think I made this over a year ago and forgot all about it. I think I sent it to my friend *kimchikawaii. I actually see some tiny flaws in it, I love looking back and noticing how much I've improved and what I can do better I feel like making more ice creams now! I really like the colors and the way this turned out, it looks so soft and happy, and the chocolate syrup looks great! The photo is really bad though, only a tiny part of the ice-cream is focused x.x
Last time I submitted some ice-cream someone told me my scoops were too large, and not realistic. I don't think they are large, actually my ice-cream man is extremely generous and a magician at balancing super large scoops! When it starts getting warmer I will go get some ice-cream and take a photo of his fantastic work, it is borderline ridiculous XD and soooooooo delicious
Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay by me, except the chocolate syrup which is textile paint. The cone was made using a mold I made myself, using a technique similar to the one explained in my waffle tutorial. No other molds were used. Thanks to ^maytel for the kitty watermark.
I forgot to post these I found the pics the other day and wondered why I never did... a year ago my boyfriend said that I needed a place to display my dollhouse and miniatures, so he built/bought me a lovely sort of bookcase and I made each space a room of my dollhouse (it's a fantastic design, and it saves so much space since it's vertical!). He didn't want my things to get dusty so he also added acrylic doors to it, and this was my contribution to the project, the door handles I glued them to the acrylic doors and they work fantastic and they are so fun to watch XD
I don't remember how I decided what to do for the door handles, I think I just did the stuff I wanted to make at the time lol. So they are a jelly cake roll (my bf's favorite, before I glued it he threatened to eat it if I left it unattended), a chocolate petit four, a jam cookie, a marshmallow, a colorful lollipop and a mint chocolate truffle. My favorite part was the creamy inside of the jelly roll, I love that texture XD TEXTURES I love making textures!
Comments and suggestions are much appreciated these are also available for commission as pendants, charms, earrings, etc.
Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay and liquid polymer clay for the jam and jelly, no molds were used. The cookie shape was cut with a small cutter. Pastel dust was used to achieve the baked effect. The cake texture and color were made using the same technique I explained in this tutorial: [link] the method I use to making whipped cream is also explained there.
Sushi bracelets remain one of my favorite things to make, ever!!! they are so much fun and happy!
This was a custom commission from an Etsy customer, she wanted it as a gift for a small girl so this one is actually rather small, to fit her thin wrist. She requested a sushi bracelet with 6 different sushi beads, and I feel silly for not thinking of it before it was a great idea! The beads were:
1. Miso bowl - I'm really proud of how small and detailed these tiny bowls are, not sure if you can notice in the picture but they are barely 8 mm in diameter. Includes super mini tofy squares, green onion slices and bits of nori in a semi-clear broth.
2. Ebi - shrimp with rice. I'm working on making it more realistic while also keeping it cute. 3. Onigiri - Simple rice ball, shaped like a rounded triangle with some nori. 4. Ikura gunkan maki sushi - rice, salmon roe on top, wrapped in nori. I was inspired by ~Auffallend's roe tutorial to create mine, I need bigger glass beads. 5. Tamago - scrambled eggs on top of rice wrapped in nori. 6. Salmon sashimi - Bright raw salmon on top of rice.
And of course I learned how to make the maki zushi cane using *chat-noir's Sushi Cane Tutorial, like everyone else even if they don't want to admit it XD
PS pfttttt I just noticed I didn't submit anything for a month... first time I go this long without any new submissions. Sorry PSS My hands are not dry, macro pics tend to focus on every single imperfection XD
