Bolin and EskaJust to kick out the last journal... here you have a screenshot of Bolin and Eska ! I know it's a bit late for posting this, Bryan published it in his tumblr about 4 days ago... i haven't checked it lately...Bolin and Eska1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Hmm... interesting... this could approve BolinxEska theory... xD. But, i just cant ship Bolin and Eska because... you know, Bolin is all energetic-goofy-GORGEOUS and Eska seems like the "Mai" of Legend of Korra.
Who knows, maybe a nice girl is behind that "androgynous creepiness"
And another interesting this to note is the background. I does not look like the south pole to me, it's more like they where in republic city. But both of them are wearing that big winter coats; it looks like the South pole has had a lot of reconstruction in the last 70 years...
What do you think about this?
Oh, and here you have a fan made animation based on that screenshot

ARTGERMINATION - My Digital Art ChatroomARTGERMINATION - My Digital Art Chatroom2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Many people has asked me about the rationale behind my nickname - Artgerm in many occasions. To me it is more than just a nick, it is actually my mission statement in my art journey, which I would like to see people get "infected" by my works and inspire them to create art. I've been drawing for the past 20 years, in which 16 years in digital medium. Art has already been part of my life long time ago - it is my passion, my profession and my life. Although majority of my time has been devoted to the commercial projects and my family and leave me very little time to impart my art knowledge to others outside of my studio, my mission statement has never and will never change.
As a result, I've decided to setup a deviantArt chatroom recently called Artgermination for all digital art discussions, which I put in a good amount of my time daily to interact with other dA members, sharing with them my journey in art and con

Book 3 Foley Art!From Wikipedia: Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects which are added in post production to enhance the quality of audio for films, television, video, video games, and radio. These reproduced sounds can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass. The best foley art is so well integrated into a film that it goes unnoticed by the audience. It helps to create a sense of reality within a scene.Book 3 Foley Art!1 year ago in Personal More Like This

"Aran Tanchum, our good friend and longtime foley editor (for approximately the second half of Avatar, and all of Korra), has started a Tumblr blog about the art and process of foley. On the other side of the mic is Vinny Quisetti, the “foley walker,” the person performing the sounds to match the movement in the footage. Unfortunately, Aran can’t show clips from the series, but if you are interested in filmmaking, this is a good look int

Contest~ [DELAYED indefinitely]OCTOBER CONTESTContest~ [DELAYED indefinitely]11 months ago in Personal More Like This
This one will be a little more difficult, but we also have better prizes and a longer time.
Due to issues (one of my best friends is in the hospital, another one is DEAD, still another is severely depressed and needs consoling) the deadline has been moved to~
I honestly don't know
"Halloween Around the World"
The images must be NEW, as in, published on or after October 1, 2013.
Entries, for the most part, must be made in MMD. You can use any models, effects, backgrounds, that you please.
You MAY edit and MMD render using photo-manipulation software such as GIMP, Photoshop, Pivix, MS Paint, or other program of your choice. The important part is the base image comes from MMD.
No judges this time, just me and my opinions~ If I need a second opinion I'll ask.
I left the theme vague for a reason. That is the challenge

Soooo... there aren't very many entries so far, and I will extend the deadline for the last time now, and edit some things:
Q & A:
what do I have to draw?
one of my characters, ref's found here:
May I enter?
Of course! I'm glad if you do ^^
End date: 25 Oktober
How do you decide who the winners will be? I judge on how much effort you put into it, the concept and story
*you have a larger chance of winning if you really capture the personality of the character well and/or if there is a story to go with the characters, you include details of the story in it!!!*
--story of Marlov, Tarovski and Hirakin:
multiple characters also boosts your chance of winning!!!
Time for some blind, fuming RAGEI've been storing this one up for a while. I realize here, I'm probably preaching to the choir but if I don't say this, I'm going to explode. I've been bottling this for way too long. If anything, you people, the appreciators of art, can print this up and hand it to someone when you hear them say shit like this.Time for some blind, fuming RAGE8 months ago in Personal More Like This
(Note: "Asshole" is not just one person but a number of people who have said these things to me and other artists I know.)
Asshole: Art is NOT a job. It's just not. It doesn't involve manual labor, you get to sit on your ass all day, and most of you are even your own bosses! You don't have to deal with HALF the shit WE (who have REAL jobs) do. I bet you work like three hours a week, maybe. Don't even get me started on the idiots who sell those blank canvases and glued together furniture BS for like A JIZZLLION DOLLARS. You want to know what a real job is? Stand on your feet for twelve hours straight listening to people complain day in and day out. THAT is a job. Or how about sa

PillooowwsFirst, sorry if I'm journal spamming this last week. I've written 3 fairly close together, when prior to that I haven't written in a month .Pillooowws2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But I made pillows
I hope they look ok. I think they do.
No, I'm not pressuring or begging for anyone to buy anything ( but who doesn't need a naked Sephiroth pillow? .. ). I just think pillows are kinda neat for some reason.
..which is surprising, since my mother was always the type to decorate beds with like, 18 pillows~ you'd think I'd have an aversion to them ( know anyone who does that? They have a bed or couch with like, 20 "decorative pillows? An then when you want to get in bed, you have to remove 18 of them to get to the sleeping pillow? )
On Comics by David NamenadNote: This article was made by the awesome namenad so be sure to check his gallery for more comic goodness. On Comics by David Namenad1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
My name is David and I've been making the comic strip "The DaneMen" for the last 7 years.
It is a strange comic strip.
No story. No dialogue. No characters.
Stranger still, every single person in "The DaneMen" looks exactly the same.
Visit this gallery for examples.
This article is meant to briefly give you some advice about comics, and for me to feel self-important.
We are already off to a great start.
First, some quick advice:
1. Read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud.
2. Carry a small notebook with you everywhere.
3. Give yourself a deadline and keep to it.
4. Share your artwork with the world (probably via the Internet.)
5. Haters gonna hate.
That last one is more of a
Commissions - CLOSEDEdit 24/8/2013; I'll close my commissions for a while. This means I'm not taking any new commissions until I open them again. All commissions I've already accepted/agreed to do are still going to be done but any new commissions will be rejected for now. This is to prevent commissions piling up too much. I will reopen commissions when I've got most of the current ones done, so wait until then to send your notes about new commissions.Commissions - CLOSED2 years ago in Personal More Like This
These are regular money commissions and there are a lot more different kinds of pictures that can be commissioned for than in my point commissions.
1. What is a commission?
A commission is a picture you ask me to draw for you. It can be done in any medium you want it to be, I have a very wide range of different mediums, especially in traditional art. For digital pictures I use mostly PaintToolSAI/Photoshop CS6 and a tablet. The sizes (and shapes, too) of the pictures can vary a lot, you can ask for a A3 sized picture or com
A Word About deviantARTThe internet can be a terrible distraction when what you mean to do is get up, uncap those tubes of paint, and do your best to commit the image that's behind your eyes to some vague approximation on canvas.A Word About deviantART2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Art takes time-- time to scale your own wilderness, sometimes in the dark-- and the internet has a way of leaching every last hour from the day before you've even noticed it's gone.
Then, one day, you stumble on to dA, and there they are: your actual peers, throughout the world, all striving for the same things you've been striving for; some are offering sage advice, some are heaping abuse wherever it will land, and a few are just killing time-- but mostly, you'll find artists engaged from both the right and left sides of their brains in the full-time obsession of art.
We're told that the left side of the brain is where language and logic abide, and the right side is where imagery and intuition brew, and for artists, the trick throughout their lives will be to reconcile the

Since I get a lot of requests from people asking whether they could use my photos for reference, I thought I'd lose a few words about what's permitted and what's not.
If you want to use the photos for reference - feel free. After all, the moment you look at it, it turns into a reference in your brain anyways I would appreciate if you could link back to either www.lupinity.com (preferred) or my dA page though. And I'd love to see the outcome of it all, if you are willing to show
Please note, however, that referencing does not equal copying. Simply painting over a photo (tracing) or reproducing it in any other way (sometimes referred to as "heavy referencing" or re-painting by some artists) is not what I would call referencing. Doing that for practice and strictly non-profit personal stuff is okay, but I certainly wouldn't like to see prints of something like this sold.
If you want to use the pho
Say NO to the Internet PricesKilaq has given me permission to post this. She is the original author. Last night's stream truly hurt me by what a couple people came and said, so this is to them and to others who wonder why artists charge for commissions, and why we charge what we do.Say NO to the Internet Prices9 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've been observing a situation of the artist who courageously set up their prices on very decent prices (in meaning: no more 50 bucks full color image of yer characters! but almost 200$ one for her really nice character painting) where I felt so proud of her for being brave to set up the real price of the art. But I was also a witness of bunch of complaining people (mostly I noticed they were young) screaming that her art is not worth for shitload bucks.
I really wanted to slap faces of these people.
Really, who decide that someone's art is worth that price?
You do not decide how much wort is my art - as my work.
You do not know how much effort I've put into a piece, countless hours, stress, time, including also a years of pra
