TURN AWAY IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT.
I MEAN IT.
OKAY, FINE, DON'T BLAME ME IF SOMETHING IS SPOILED.
To those of you who chose to interpret the ending differently or saw it as ambiguous, the Word of God(s) has come to say "This is what it was, is, and forever shall be."
But I think the majority of us were on the same page with what that final scene meant and how wonderful (and validating to many people's lives) it was. And for us I say: THREE CHEERS!
Because of a couple comments I've seen around (the web, my comics, this journal) that seem to take some issue with the ending, saying they either just didn't like the politica
Revolution :Legend of Korra: (Junior Novel)Let’s set some realistic expectations here.Revolution :Legend of Korra: (Junior Novel)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I would love for this novelization to contain a few additional scenes that focus on parts of the season we had to (for whatever reason) skim over: another instance of Korra’s airbending training, any other activity with the Task Force, the introduction of a minor but sympathetic ‘hey-I-didn’t-sign-up-for-these-extremist-actions’ Equalist, more Bolin and Asami in general, a slightly more in-depth explanation as to how Noatak figured out that he could use bloodbending to stop up a person’s chakra flow, yada yada yada. Dork.
However, I highly doubt that the author will be given that much liberty to add to the canon. Like most novelizations, it’s probably going to follow the script very closely and be written, as advertized, like a junior novelization. (And we will leave out the argument ”Oh well it’s for twelve-year-olds after all”, because sweet merciful crap please stop thin

Legend of Korra: The problem with MakorraPeople who follow me in my tumblr know of my disappointment of 'The Legend of Korra'. So I decided to make a few 'mini reviews' stating what I think went wrong with the series. As always this is my personal opinion so if you don't agree that's fine. I'm warning you though, I highly disliked the finale so if you loved it (and love Makorra) then I suggest you NOT to read this.Legend of Korra: The problem with Makorra3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Alright so, what do I think hindered the series greatly in my eyes? Well for starters, let's begin analyzing one of the most pointless, forced and annoying shippings I have ever witnessed; Makorra.
Let's analyze the two characters involved in this ship.
Korra is the avatar, and is basically a fiery tomboy. She lacks a spiritual side unlike the previous avatar, thus she's unable to visit the Spirit World, go in the Avatar state, and air bend. She's someone who depends on instinct more than think things through, and her decisions can be sporadic at times. She's had no hardships in her past and basically everyt

Iroh is first introduced in Avatar the last airbender as Zuko's Tea loving uncle who also happens to play a mean game of pai-sho. As the series continues we also find out that Iroh is a retired Fire nation General and was former Crown prince of the Fire nation. After Prince Zuko's banishment, Iroh as Zuko's uncle decided to accompany Zuko and support him in his journey and to make him a better person than his father. What made Iroh one of our most favourite characters?
Firstly, his anecdotes of wisdom helped us in real life and also helped us understand several things in life.
Although these words of wisdom were directed towards Zuko, they also helped us become a whole person.

Korra: Making of a Legend on NicktoonsI would like to point out this new information to all of you find people:Korra: Making of a Legend on Nicktoons3 years ago in Personal More Like This
“After the finale, The Legend of Korra fans can learn more about the mythology and creation of this franchise by tuning into the "Nicktoons" “Korra: Making of a Legend” special event from July 9 – July 20 during which all twelve episodes from Season 1, Book 1 will air weekdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Each “creators cut” episode offers insight into the creation of the stunning imagery, mythology and storyline where series creators and executive producers, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, provide commentary.”
Sounds great! But if you don’t have Nicktoons it will be posted up in a journal when someone record it and put it online; that way people who don’t have Nicktoons and or live outside the U.S can watch it too.

The Legend Of Korra
Fans sadly bid adieu to the The Legend of Korra series as its run on Nickelodeon came to a close this past December. A sequel to the popular Avatar: The Last Airbender, the series takes place 70 years after Avatar and follows 17 year old Korra as she tries to master the last element needed to become a full Avatar.
Legend of Korra - rambling about Book 1SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED KORRA'S FIRST SEASON.Legend of Korra - rambling about Book 13 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
There's been tons of blog posts out there analyzing what Legend of Korra's first season did both positive and negative thoughts. There's a lot of praise (there was a pretty steady flow as the season went on) but also some scathing critique (largely due to the finale). I'm not even going to try to be comprehensive because I've already tossed out so many ideas as the season went on, and other people have already laid out essays on the thing. I just wanted to touch on some points of interest to me things I loved and hated about Korra's first season.
To be clear, I could make a similar list of things for any season of the original series. Furthermore, it is important to point out that the team only had 12 episodes to work with, spent TWO YEARS making the season, had to endure all kinds of fast-paced conditions we can't even understand, I'm sure and in general, none of my critique here is meant in any person

Basically in past year I was diagnosed with annoying disease which caused me being out of energy, depressed, sleeping 10 hours a day and feeling tired despite that. Nothing life trething of course , just very annoying and sadly pernament in my case.
Funny thing is, It was discovered by japanese doctor and is called Hashimoto's disease so I guess Japan still plays a big part in my life XD;
So for a while now I started to recieve medication which helped me greately to overcome this general slump and to be honest I feel more alive then ever

Old News: Korra Season 1 DVD trailerA trailer has surfaced online for a previously unannounced Legend of Korra DVD, making it likely that Nickelodeon does in fact have plans to release the series in that format. 16 days ago this trailer was posted on youtube. This trailer does seem like an official Nickelodeon production – note the end title, peppered with copyrights for Nickelodeon and Viacom – so despite of the current lack of official confirmation, it seems reasonable to be cautiously optimistic.Old News: Korra Season 1 DVD trailer3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Unfortunately, the trailer does not specify a date or even a season for the release, instead employing that tantalizing assurance that the DVD will be “coming soon.” No mention is made either of special features or commentaries, though extras like these were always included on the official DVDs for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Still, If nothing else, this trailer does make us nostalgic for the wonderful whirlwind that was season 1, and gives us the opportunity to look forward with fresh eyes as to what

Just the other day, IGN released exclusive new footage from Korra Book 2. Well to be frank, it wasn't exactly a lot of footage but it was still enough to send the Korra fandom spiraling into existence once again.
So, I shall ask again, anyone saw the footage?
Let me know so that the fangirlling shall commence.
If not, still let me know so that I can send you the link to it. But I'm sure by now every Tom, Dick and Jane probably saw it, right?
For those who asked, here is the footage

Aang for a Cure: FDP Charity FundraiserHello everyone!Aang for a Cure: FDP Charity Fundraiser3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been thinking for the last month or so about FDP's next charity event. It's been a while since Nova's Pray for Japan campaign (relief for tsunami victims) and I figured that it might be time for another project.
I've been talking for years about shaving my head to cosplay Aang. He's my favourite character in The Last Airbender, and although I've cosplayed him before that was a while ago (aka I'm not satisfied with that costume XD). To kick my ass into gear to do this, I've decided to shave my head for cancer research. Shaving off hair for cancer fundraisers is a pretty common thing to do, but this time there's a twist when you make a donation of any size to any cancer society (I've provided links to some major ones, but feel free to donate to any local organizations or organizations in your country that I may have missed!) reply to this message and include 1) Where you made a donation to 2) Who you want to shave Aang's head: Sokka, Zuko, Azula, Katara or Toph

final press art for the1-hour finaleFor the upcoming 1-hour finale of The Legend of Korra, which airs on Saturday, June 23. Bryan Konietzko did this for all of us Korra fans. He says, Thanks for all of the kind words and support as I posted some of the in-progress elements along the way. I was sick and exhausted through most of the process, so the positive vibes were more than welcome. Amon’s mask received a minor nose job since I posted that layer last week: he has less of the signature Konietzko schnoz now. http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/25026086135/here-is-the-final-press-art-i-did-for-the-upcomingfinal press art for the1-hour finale3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Please keep in mind that ship bashing of any kind is not allowed here. Take that somewhere else because we won't stand for it and you'll just get into trouble.
Also Please keep in mind that although it is now official; we should always make sure that we keep things civil in both the shipping and Avatar community. We are all human beings, and I trust each and every one of you to discuss this topic civilly and respectfully with others.
Anyway, The posts below are from Michael DeMartino and Bryan. Both are creators of The Legend Of Korra. And have made the wonderful show we all enjoyed to the fullest before the end.
Some music to celebrate.

kudos to Mike and Bryan for heavily hinting a lesbian pairing and not going with the norm when they could have easily gone for Mako and Korra
and also for making a series with amazing lead female characters, who kicked ass, worked hard, stood up for what they believe in, and making a series that will always hold a place in my heart.
I can't believe it's over.
and here's an awesome review from someone that you should read it's so worth it.
“Endings reveal a lot about the overarching ideas of a piece, and by finishing with Korra and Asami, the writers establish that The Legend Of Korra is a story about women first and foremost. It’s a series about how women relate to each other as friends, family, and rivals in romance and politics, an idea has became especially prominent in Book Three. Before that, there was much more emphasis on Korra’s connections with the men in her life: her father-daughter dynamic with Tenzin, her romanti

So, I was really happy with the ending of LoK. Really happy. There will be so much LoK art from me because of it.
To be honest, I loved Kuvira through the whole thing. Not as a person, but as a character. I liked how in the end she took ownership for what she'd done - unlike the majority of the villains in previous seasons. And by ownership, I mean she wasn't taken into custody by force. She gave herself over. She didn't fight it like all the previous villains. She didn't run.
And she apologized the Suyin. Yeah, that doesn't instantly make her a better person, but she knew she was in the wrong.
Also, I was so, so, glad Suyin said "You're going to answer to everything you've done" instead of accepting her apology. I was happy that Kuvira apologized, but if Suyin would have accepted it, it would have ruined it for me.
Because life doesn't work that way. And throughout the whole series, the creators kept the characters very real. Which is the re

What do we mean by “story planning”?
Planning a story sounds like an easy task- even at primary school level you are taught that a story must have a beginning, a middle and an end. However there are plenty of important elements that build a story; a lot of prep work that can actually improve the quality of your novel writing in the long run. This can cover almost anything- from world building, character development, creating past history and plot mapping etc. There is a huge range of elements that can turn your idea into a strong well-structured novel.
Are you going to tell me how to write a novel?
Not exactly. We can’t tell you how to approach your novel and how to write it from chapter 1 through to the end. We’re not giv
