Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod...Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yet again the Mass Effect Fandom proved that it will not leave the ending in the state it was presented in the game. A certain (fan!) mod was created (and is right now in the testing phase) a Happy Ending Mod for ME3. We can destroy the Reapers, Shepard lives (EDI and Geth too) and most importantly of all we don't have to worry about the Star Child.
Instruction how to install it and the mod itself can be found here:
You can also check how the mod works here on youtube:

You were surprisingly consistent in voting this time - for the 45 votes, most of you focused on two works that now, obviously, are featured as the first and second places each. Tolkien Illustrator’s First Aid Kit: Elves
Tolkien’s texts are notable for their abundance of characters, many of them mentioned perhaps only once, other playing very important parts in the stories. However, it is often very difficult to find any description of how those characters look, and this is what we, artists and illustrators, are usually most concerned with.
So here it is – Tolkien Illustrator’s First Aid Kit – a list of all those characters, whose physical appearance is mentioned in the texts, including The Silmarillion and The History of the Middle-earth.
To start with, the Elves. As we know, during the march from Cuiviënén t
How to make a viking dressI used to be a part of one history reenactment group some time ago. Such groups basically reconstruct elements of daily life of people from a selected time period; my group was interested in early Middle Ages, from the 8th to the 11th century, from the Eastern and Northern Europe. Personally, I used to reconstruct a viking woman from today's Sweden areas. Most of you will be shocked, but vikings were not half-naked barbarians with horned helmets. They had no horned helmets. Really. How to make a viking dress3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Anyway, my favourite part of reenactment has always been all the suit making. Buing materials, planning, cutting, sewing (hand sewing!), embroidering. Then, wearing. Generally, viking clothes are very easy to make, though I admit that the materials aren't the cheapest, if you want to make it as much accurate historically as you can.
Our goal: a simple dress, no emboirdery. This is actually my first viking dress I've ever made.

1. Hello! For the beginning, could you tell us something about yourself?
Hi there! I am Ulla Thynell, a 30-something illustrator living in Helsinki (Finland) with my spouse and our little daughter. I've always been passionate about imagination and stories, both the written and visual variety.
2. When did you read Tolkien's books for the first time, and what impression did they leave in you?
I read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings first in the mid-90's when I was aroud 12 years old. I was an omnivorous bookw

:iconcalculatus: This guy decided to make a breakdown of abilities of Blaze and Penn for me and there are some crazy stuff here!
Check it out!!!))
You gave us a few of Blaze's and Penn's abilities in the past but I decided that it wasn't good enough for me, so I fleshed their powers out some more by taking their skills and physical and spiritual properties of fire into account.
·Fire flows in his blood, making him immune to all foreign contaminants such as poison and disease.
o This would lead to regenerative healing factor since the flames would be constantly cauterizing his wounds. This is kind of like how phoenixes heal themselves.
Fire elementals are abnormally strong since fire spiritually represents strength.
·He holds a symbiotic bond with fire, and can emit* it from his body through fire breath, explosions, flame armor, rocket-propelle

Prompt 14: The Beginning! Just one day left to send us your slice of weirdness! I'm working on my desperate and pathetically last-minute entry--how about you?Prompt 14: The Beginning!2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
Just under one week left to get those entries in! We've only had two so far, so all you people who favourited and shared and rhapsodized about how goddamn awesome it was we were back, get your arses into gear!
Yes, it's us again. We reincarnate more often than Kenny.
This time is going to be different, though. And you can trust me on that, because it's not me who'll be ensuring it. fyoot, a long-time contributor and judge for transliterations and someone whom I'm sure you all know if only by reputation, is stepping into the breach and making sure this dead horse keeps getting whipped. The one major change you should be aware of is that prompts will now go up on the 15th of each month and end on the 10th. Of course, this ending date is purely arbitrary and only influences who gets into the news feature; you can continue

Johnny Cash was without a doubt one of the most influential, acclaimed, and popular singer–songwriters of the last century.
February 26 would have been his 82nd birthday. Many of Cash’s recordings are now almost universally known—songs like “I Walk the Line” and “Folsom Prison Blues.” As a result of his work he has been inducted into the Country Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

well, I'm afraid I'm not very interesting. Most of the time I just sit at home next to the radiator, dressed in too many sweaters, sip cocoa and read or draw (but when I have more free time I greatly enjoy cooking/baking and sewing) I'm nineteen and currently study animation on university so I totally don't have as much time to draw my own things as I would like. I live in tiny, unknow village under Beskydy mountains with my mum,

Draw how you think you would look in each of the different species of Middle Earth: Elf, Dwarf, Human, and Hobbit. If you're feeling extra creative, you could even do some of the more ugly species such as Orc or Goblin, and anything else you can think of.
Remember one thing, though; female Dwarves have facial hair! Anywhere from light sideburns to a full-on beard. Here are some really awesome examples:
As suggestions for extra if you like, you could think about how you would dress, what your living situations would be (i.e. are you rich, poor, a warrior, a royal, employed and if so what kind of job, married with children, your pets, ride an extinct species of moose, etc.) your homeland, your preferred hobbies, and what your favorite food would be; all for each of the species.
I personally probably won't be doing
My Best Motivational TipWhen I become overcome with the guilt and shame and fear as a result of my constant procrastination, I have one trick to get me off my ass that works every time.My Best Motivational Tip3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now, lots of other people and blogs and whatever are all like "look how lucky you are" and "puppies and rainbows" and "if you get it done now, you'll feel better" and lots of other positive shit. While all this stuff is true, I'm still playing Assassin's Creed II for like four hours a day. It doesn't motivate me at all. I still don't want to write a 500 word essay on the subtle differences between the book and the film adaptation of The Road that's due, like, tomorrow.
So here's what I think of.
"Michael Bay wants me to fail."
Insert your own celebrity arch nemesis if you want to, but basically choose someone so crap that it makes you angry. Preferably someone who's getting paid buckets of money to do whatever they do to piss you off.
Competitive nature and the desire to prove your chosen asshole wrong should take over.
Fighting against scammer and spammer the right way20000 points!Fighting against scammer and spammer the right way3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
A huge spammer says he generated 20000 and gives you a link in description to do the same. This was posted hundreds of times on several different profiles, making people angry. Of course all of the comments on these profiles are marked as spam. And maaaan lot of deviant wrote comments on those profiles..
I am sure this was a bot attack. Nobody that lifeless to post this amount of spam on that much profile and mark all comments as spam at the same time.
Why do I write about this?
Because you -my fellow deviants- do it the wrong way! Instead of raging on the fake profile, and trying to bully him or her or most likely IT with cruel comments, you should make steps against it.
Here what I did.
I reported some images to get dA's attention. This is basic.
I knew that db.tt links are short links for dropbox.com. I went to dropbox.com, searched for contact and wrote an email to them abo
Are you IN your art?Are you in your art?Are you IN your art?5 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sounds like a question from a hippyI know. Only a hippy would ask someone if theres a connection between your soul, your essence, your outlook and your mark making. And I avoided thinking about it for a while because I didnt want to be seen as a non-shoe-wearing, flower-in-the-hair, theres-a-universe-in-all-of-us type of limp wristed twit. Guys who are too internal usually take themselves too seriously and (whats worse), flake out on deadlines. So my goal for a long time was to be stone cold and scientific about my approach.
But the question art you in your art? isnt one that I can avoid these days, especially when my favorite artists are the ones who are truly in their art.
Last night I went out to Cliff Chiangs opening for Vertigos Greendale graphic novel. Cliff is a great guy, a talented artist, and smart as hell
