The Sonic series has characters, worlds, characters we adored for SPECIFIC REASONS! everyone was not a hollow shell like they believed them to be, for the past 20 years lets ALL be honest here, the comics were the only stable form of story for the series. The games have always changed as did the story and world itself, SEGA has NEVER stayed with a basic story platform everything always changed from game to game to game. No 2 games take place in the same type of world, excluding sonic colors and generations and I do
