Role Models: Then and Now
Albert Einstein by SoulOfDavid
There was a time when childhood heroes were real life human beings people dreamed of emulating when they “grew up.” There were sports heroes, famous astronauts, war heroes, political figures, the leaders of social and humanitarian causes, etc..
Then came “Star Trek” which is thought to be a prime mover behind student inte

The “alternative universe” has long been a sci–fi trope, usually simply a good–guy bad–guy heroes and villains reversal. Like the Star Trek episode (“Mirror, Mirror”) in which a transporter glitch lands Kirk on an evil pirate “parallel universe” Enterprise where Spock is a goateed murderer with mutiny on his agenda. But real scientists have complicated things considerably, with “string theory” positing at least eleven (and possibly an infinite number) of “alternative/parallel universes.”
Once upon a time, we pondered our relative insignificance as sin

Context is everything. The same photographs and paintings of airport terminals and train compartments and subway platforms that seem so cold and forbidding in contemplation of one’s traveling out into the world, somehow become reassuring in their hard functionality and durability – when thought of as the pathway to the journey back home. Faces of travelers photographed in airports often exhibit muted “Mona Lisa smiles,” masking the direction (to or away from home) that they are headed.

Storytellers of the Future

The Storyteller by jrtracey
What kind of new narratives will 21st Century storytellers create for our changing world?
Brain Games host Jason Silva tackled that question in a two-minute video called "Lucid Dreaming," outlining the tremendous opportunities (and challenges) facing 21st Century storytellers. As our relationship to technology evolves, the stories w

From Myth And Legend
“The wind within the trees was a whisper that spoke our tongue, and the stars in the sky shone on the gods of our heavens, alight and alive. What is science against alchemy, we asked them, what is coincidence against prophecy? Kings and beggars stand equal as fates unfold and worlds awake, as heroes rise and deities fall… among nymphs and mermaids, against harpies and sorceries, we must stand as one. Will you brave the lands of myth and legend with us?”

In case you were wondering what the deal is with why certain cases of 'theft' aren't taken seriously. Pretty much sums it all up with evidence.
Also, most of us know that realitysquared isn't exactly on everyone's 'top 10' list of admins on the internet... Most of the people who have dealt with that particular admin seem to always get the short end of the stick in most cases. Even I am not too fond of them... Just sayin'.
The short story: The reason why 90% of the reports for theft aren't really fixed is because apparently "alterations, edits, traces, and references are becoming regarded as acceptable by dA" -- meaning if someone does any of these things your report will probably be partially ignored if not completely.
Your best bet would be to contact the person directly through a note and ask them to rem

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind by Pino44io
The story unfolds one thousand years after the Seven Days of Fire, the event that brought about the ultimate destruction of industrial society, and the few remaining human tribes struggle to survive, clinging to the slowly shrinking areas that are still suitable to live in.

Wrapping things upOver the Christmas break I've had a long think about Servants of the Imperium and what I want to do with it.Wrapping things up1 year ago in Personal More Like This
When I realised 5ish years ago that people genuinely wanted to read SotI I sat down and wrote out the plot for the comic in the form of a few pages of bullet-pointed plot points. That way I had an overarching idea of where the plot was going and how I was going to get to the end.
This plot document has served me well over the years but, while re-reading it over Christmas, I came to the realisation that the remaining plot will take me at least another 100 to 150 strips worth of comics. At my current rate of production, that's another two to three years at the minimum.
Sadly, I've not got the drive to continue this strip for another three years.
BUT, I don't want to end the strip without telling the story I had planned out. That's why, over the next few weeks, I will be posting a series of comics that summarise the remaining plot points and hopefully show you guys what I had plann
Bastion's 7 storyHeya, folks.... ok here's the skinny.... a ton of peeps have been hitting me up to ask what the heck is Bastion's 7. That is a very good question, and I am ecstatic that you want to know.Bastion's 7 story6 years ago in Personal More Like This
Here's the first 5 pages of the story. It's an introduction teaser I had printed through Image Comics, a couple of years ago. Most of you have seen the pages in my gallery before, but now I'm including the pages with the dialogue. I am reworking these panels since they're dated, but in a "Sundays Funnies" format for each chapter. I hope you enjoy the short, but brief read.
Page 5 & 6
Stay tuned because the adventure is just getting started, Let the fun begin!
Hope y'all dig it!

Dragons 2 and San Diego ComiconFirst off, here's the official teaser trailer for the sequel of "How To Train Your Dragon":Dragons 2 and San Diego Comicon2 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you want to see it on the big screen and in 3D, it should play in front of Turbo, opening next week.
I should be at the San Diego comicon next week, from Wednesday to Saturday (will be absent on Sunday). This year, I'll be hanging around the Gallery Nucleus booth, in a new location in the hall: booth 2743, close to IDW and Image Comics. We'll have great guests at the table:

Future biology rebootAfter some time of absence from my future biology project, I have decided to reboot it.Future biology reboot6 months ago in Personal More Like This
I will use some concepts from my old project but there will also be a lot of new stuff.
My new project will focus on four epochs of the future:
5 million years hence
-Big parts of North America and Eurasia are covered by the Arctic ice sheet
-South America and Australia are seasonally connected through the Antarctic ice sheet
-Africa has collided with Europe, closing the Mediterranean Sea and creating a vast salt pan
-Lemuria (Tanzania and Kenya) starts to detach from Africa
-The Amazon basin is drying out
50 million years hence
-The world is getting warmer again
-Antarctica is only partially frozen
-The Arctic ice sheet has completely melted, the sea level has risen, the oceans have flooded the coastal areas of the
continents and turned them into shallow shelf seas
-The Americas have detached from one another and are moving towards Asia
