SanctuaryThe tide pulls in, roaring as playful as a child,Sanctuary3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Sparkles of the sun on the water top go wild.
Twinkling as they huddle tightly together,
Sand softer and lighter than a small feather.
The sweetest and funniest sea there is to see,
Glowing green in the night to amuse me.
On the sands border, palm trees that touch the sky,
And flowers so beautiful, a glimpse can make you cry.
The sun can't help but to stop and watch,
For every peek is only just a small swatch.
The dragonflies giggle and buzz above my head,
Listening intently to whatever I had said.
If there was a rare moment I had felt like I wanted to cry,
Gentle breezes would tuck me in, and sing a lullaby.
Seashells and starfish, in the sand they lay,
This is a place where I would like to stay.
And if I were to die today or tomorrow,
If I was sent here, I would feel no sorrow.
This is my heaven, my Sanctuary,
This is my haven, my only Sanctuary.
