Standing in the Rain
Since Lister arrived on Mimas, he'd spent most of his time drunk. Very, very drunk. He'd had a hundred dollarpound when he arrived [the sight of the bills shoved in his underpants surprised him more than the unfamiliar area] but it didn't last long with the outrageous price of lager on Mimas.
He was down to his very last fivepence when he woke up, half dressed in a seedy, red-light district hotel. He didn't make to move, just let his head pound and scream at him in a way that told him he was much too sober. A soft noise alerted him to the fact that there with a man fumbling to exit the room as quickly and quietly as possible.
Lister started, snapping into a sitting position and letting out a cry. Half out of pain in his head, and half out of surprise.
The man whirled, tripped, and slammed face-first into the door.
"Was' this all tha' smeg 'bout?" Lister moaned, rubbing his head. Slowly, parts of his body were starting to ache. And not just the parts he was e

The villains were gathering, no Batman to stop them.
The signal was shining up high in the air,
The bats eyes were blind to the black and white flare.
A plan like no other had just taken flight,
And a vision of grins flashed through the cold night.
Through an alley I walked, the tension abound
Hearing insane laughter, and shadows around
Pulling my scarf up over my nose,
I glance down and notice a box by my toes.
The lid of the box with the handle in red,
Was open and laughing, its receiver was dead.
The moon flew high above me in sight,
I knew that the Joker had committed this blight.
When, what to my wondering eyes did appear,
Two figures grinning, a chuckle I hear.
His face was grotesque, his hair a bright green,
His suit was tacky, the worst Id ever seen.
His assistant beside him in her dress red and black,
Her unorthodox beauty took me aback.
Now what have we here? he laughed as he said,
The Next StageDis Carson and Zriz dropped their guns and raised their hands—on in Zriz’s case, claws—into the air. Zriz spat at the feet of the Eubolan holding them at gunpoint. Dis shared the sentiment. Out of habit, he berated himself. He should have seen the signs of ambush before boarding the derelict and called in the authorities. Instead, it looked like he was going to be just another victim. A five-year veteran should have known better.
“Look, just take the rations and go,” Dis said. “Shit ain’t even expensive.”
“Do not tell me you are afraid of death, Carson,” said Zriz with that clicking noise he had for a laugh.
“Hell no,” he said. “But dying at the hands of a filthy pirate over a measly box of food rations isn’t what I want carved as an epita

His eyes glowed with rage. “YOU DO NOT REALIZE. YOU CAN TRY TO SLAUGHTER US. YOU CAN THROW OUR BONES INTO LAVA, YOU CAN THROW OUR BODIES TO YOUR HOUNDS, BUT WE WILL NOT LEAVE THIS DAMMED WORLD UNTIL THERE IS NO ONE LEFT TO REMEMBER US.”
His face was inches away from Israphel’s. “YOU THINK THAT FOR THE SAME REASON YOU LIVE WE WILL DIE.”
He held Israphel’s fox-blood eyes. “But you’re wrong,” his voice was hoarse. “You’re wrong.”
The Dark Lord turned toward him, shaking with anger. “I will not – have a human, tell me what to do.” He slammed down his foot, and Xephos went flying.
The spaceman caught himself at the last moment, turning the impact into a roll. His instincts screeched at him, and he met Israphel full on.

Xephos kept looking at the ceiling angrily. None would question him leader, but the fact that he stood on the same platform as Lalna and the others did, that send worry into their hearts.
Lomadia tried to catch Lalna’s eye. No doubt they were the strongest pair together, technology and strategy; they’d be hard to beat. It was like the usual Survival Games Ridge put on, but this had a different air to it. Lalna was sure Lom felt it too.
Nobody spoke. Honeydew seemed to stare through the walls, one hand tucked beneath the other, stroking his beard. Rythian paced the floor, his violet eyes tinted blue in thought. Zoeya sat cross-legged, calmly awaiting Ridge’s reappearance.

Lomadia turned to leave, then suddenly Israphel doubled over in pain. He shuddered deeply, his robes splattered with his own blood. When he lifted his head to meet his servant’s eyes, his own seemed to bulge.
“No- no it isn’t possible. He is not strong enough!”
The Owl Queen, her once-sleek blonde hair matted and crusted with blood. Her eyes had a sunken look to them, and Mr. Owl no longer stood on her shoulder. Her clothes, dark jeans, splattered boots and a filthy t-shirt were treading.
“My Lord?” she asked.
Israphel pulled himself up, clawing at Lomadia. “Fool!” he howled.
Struggling with more than the emotion fighting within him, he unsheathed his dagger and plunged it into the Queen’s thigh.
Choking on a scream, Lomadia stumbled backward, trembling. “M-M-My Lord…”

Red-hot anger boiled within Lalna, burning away all icy nerves or fears. The scientist hadn’t felt this way in a long time… and he had to admit, it was a nice change to feel the energy pouring in his muscles.
Lomadia stood to his right, having a silent conversation with Xephos from across the arena.
He could feel her worry, her fierce protectiveness for all of them. Especially for him, for her Xephos. He could feel the tension in the air, the lurking fears, the knowing that as soon as these cells open – they would no longer be themselves. They would be rage-driven, fueled by bloodlust and anger.
The scientist watched grim anxiety in Zoeya’s eyes. As she forced an infectious smile, throwing back her fiery hair. Rythian leaned against the back of his cell, head in

The ground was soft, but firm. He could only hear his own breathing, rugged and fast. His hand was tingling as if he’d been sitting on it too long. He felt sore all over, and when he rolled on his back he felt as if a twenty ton dumbbell had been lifted from his chest. Finally able to catch his breath, Lalna was overcome with fatigue and without further thought, slipped out of consciousness.
He came around sometime later, and with difficulty, he opened his eyes. Nothing met them. He was… safe?
No, he wasn’t safe. Lalna knew that deep within his bones. Something, or someone, was waiting for him.
Without thinking, his other hand groped around near him, (why, he didn’t know. He just felt something was there…) and was successful

Author's Note: If you don't know the song Vanilla Twilight by Owl City, I strongly suggest you listen to it. There's a link in the description
The stars lean down to kiss you
And I lie awake and miss you
You sighed as you crawled out of bed, feeling sad and empty without a certain Dr. Spencer Reid. He was your roommate, friend, and crush, but right now he was away with the BAU and you didn’t know what to do.
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly
But I'll miss your arms around me
You had known Reid when you were younger, then lost contact with him, but then he found you again, when a serial killer murdered your family. It was terrible and tragic, and you barely survived. Sometimes you wished you hadn’t. What would you do when Reid got a girlfriend, and you got kicked out? Where would you go? That was the thing; you had no one. Reid was your everything, and you loved him.
I'll send a postcard to you, dear
Cause I wish you were here

Israphel looked unfazed. In his white spot-less dress shirt, black slacks, old-man shoes and a long coat with golden buttons, you’d never guess a maniacal killing man would stand in front of you. In fact, it was almost as if he radiated classy.
“I hope you remember I am the one who has the open to just snap my fingers and your brain will explode inside your skulls,” he said casually. “Of course, that is, unless you’re going to be gentleman about it and just talk nicely to an old friend.”
“Old friend!” Rythian spluttered. The mage wasn’t within Minecraftia when Israphel rose to power, but after speaking with Xephos to join Yogscraft, he knew all about the Dark Lord.
But to his surprise, Ridge sheathed his golden sword and stepped forward, shaking hands with Israphel. His eyes were wary.

“I don’t know what I do now, Lom.” Lalna muttered. “I don’t know anymore…”
His lab coat was tattered and covered in scrawlings. His boots were splattered with blood and muck. His goggles, perched on his head were fogged up from sweat. His blue-green eyes, like seawater, stared into the fish tank.
He was talking to himself. Earlier, the Owl Mistress was there. Her long golden hair, that kind, gentle, knowing smile… It felt like years since Lalna had smiled. He sort of… missed it.
Xephos and Honeydew meant well. The leader, always his glowing midnight eyes betraying his worry and bitterness towards himself. Honeydew, always ready with a joke or some sort of stupid story to tell. Lalna needed them, as much as he hated to admit he needed friends, he needed them.

But most of all, Megaman was adjusting to his new role as a hero, and what that meant for him and his family. He'd readily agreed to the idea of becoming a robot warrior for justice, and there was no way he could back down with Dr. Light, and the world, counting on him. Roll had been in favor of it since the beginning, seeming to romanticize the idea. A superhero, she'd called him. She'd even modified her Utility Arm to aid him in battle. But was she ready to combat Wily like she said?
For that matter, was he?

We had been inseparable from the moment of our twin birth. Beth and Brad, our parents named us. And with him getting the Y chromosome and the bigger size, he had always been protective of me. When we were 5, he pulled me out from behind my grandparents’ car as they were backing out. When we were 7, he patiently helped me practice tying my shoes. At 15, he beat up the first boy who broke my heart. He had dedicated his life to watching over his “little sister.” How ironic, then, that he died in a car accident when we were 17.
But that didn’t stop him from looking out for me.
At first I thought I was losing my mind. I didn’t believe in ghosts, but there he was. And when I fell into an abusive relationship, Brad haunted the jerk’s ass to scare him away from me. He was always there for me.
