Just a quick some something to let you know I'm still alive on here. Also trying different techniques and media & such heh. This one was just done with the usual: speed paint background (watered down acrylics), polychromos pencils, copic markers and black&white ink pens.
Been working on this during my lunch breaks at work. Had been having mixed emotions about this piece whether I should keep going with it or not. But, in the end I'm glad I kept on drawing. Wasn't going to think much of it .. until now.
Taken with camera and such so the colour may be a tad bit out of what it actually looks like... kinda a softer feel.
Media: Watered down acrylics, Copic Markers, Polychromos Pencils, (sadly I have not white ink pen yet, so had to use silver ink) & black ink pens.
Rumors are saying, that there exists an ancient creature, which protects guiltless and chaste souls from evil. Young Tina heard these rumors and fairytales since she was born, and she alway believed that this ancient creature really exists, so all the other young Kurutamaa (wuhahaha, my species >;D ,...they're a Unicorn-Deer-Rabbit-Hybrids) laughed at her. One night a Clan of evil and sanguinary carnivores discovered the nest of the clan and killed all. Only little Tina could escape with some scars. She ran as fast as the wind, but the Clan of carnivores saw her and so run after her, and they were coming nearer and nearer. Suddenly she came to a glade and had to stop abrupt, cuz there were also some of these evil carnivores in front of her! She was so afraid, so she closed here eyes and waited for her death. She waited...and waited....and waited... but nothing happend, she only felt there her fear was gone. So she opened here eyes: there were lightsparks around here, which frightened the evil night-creatures, so they didn't attack. Tina wondered where this sparks came from and she looked around...and behind here were an ancient creature...and she knew that the rumors and stories were all true....
For the watchers, as I haven't been active lately. Something I quickly threw together on canvas (except for background, drying and all took a while heh) Nothing special so negative critiques will be ignored.
Simple dragon character waiting for that someone/something.
Canvas, aqua pencil background, Polychromos pencils and black & white ink pens. Original; 8x10"
Another doodle ..Finished in under 2 hours whilst in my lecture at Uni, I know I've been very quiet lately and I'm terribly sorry. I'm still here and plan on doing some more work once I get a decent amount of free time. So please have a little more patience with me, I'm very sorry.
Point commisson for She asked me to draw her dragon, Lyra. I had a simple but lovely pic of her and I was hardly thinking how to draw her. Finally I chose this idea. I really like how Lyra looks like and I like her shading... but the background... I don't say I hate draw bgs... no, I just CAN'T draw them X_x I really hope those greyish thingies look like mountains... if they don't, please don't notice it XD ... ...seriously >_> But I hope you like it... so enjoy!
Hope everything is right about Lyra, my dear and you will like this piccie as muxh as I do! ;3
At first a story Once upon a time, powerful and wise creatures visited the earth, called dragons. They all liked this world and didn't want to harm anyone or anything, they wanted to live in peace with the other creatures of this planet. Then they meet the humans and for while they lived in peace together. But the humans were afraid of the dragons and when they realized that the dragons are harmless, they got smug and so all the humans came togehter and decided to defeat and kill or subjugate the dragons. The war between these two races lasted for years and there were lots of dead people and also dragons. So the council of the dragons decided to leave this world, to prevent more dead ones. On the day of the departure a young woman came to the dragons lair. She wasn't afraid of the dragons, which claws were twice as large as herself. And the dragons were interessted in this young woman, which was so diffrent from the other humans, so they didn't harm her. She bowed in front of the leader of the dragon-group and asked if she could come with them. All dragons were surprised and they started discussing. Suddenly two dragons ,which were best friends since they were hatched, went to the leader and they said that they would take care of the woman. The wife of the leader looked furious at the woman, "Your race killed so many of us! Tell why we should give them another chance! tell why we should give you a chance!". The woman looked calm at the leaders wife and answered, "Not all of us are bad. Everybody and every race should deserve a second chance. I'm sure that there are also some bad dragons. In every races are bad and good creatures and also some creatures which are between that." The leaders wife snorted, but thought about the womans words and finally nodded, "Ok." Then she looked at her husand. The leader looked at first at the woman and the to his dragon-group, "my friends. We are going to leave this world now, but the woman is right,... we'll give the mankind a second chance. We're going to watch them all the time...and if we see that they remedy, we'll come back." His group agreed and so the leader opened a portal. In a row the dragons went through the portal. The human woman looked at the two dragons, which said that they'll take care of her, "Thank you so much!" One of them smiled, "No Problem, human. Since I saw you, I knew that you are different." He took her and put her on his head. The three creatures tourned around and looked at the landscape for some seconds. Then they went through the portal and left the world forever."
How I got the idea for this drawing: well, it all begins with a thought and a feeling. I think that humans are nearly always afraid about things they don't now, and that's okay. The important thing is how they react. Some humans want to investigate unknown things and some just want to destroy/kill it , ... . ( Here I want to remind you on the wicth-hunting.) Then I thought about how it would be if dragons were that "unknown thing". Well I would be happy if dragons would exist ( provided they are peacefull...^^), but how would others react? ...and so I got the idea for the drawing and also for the story to it^^.
Well, now to the charackters^^ The dragon on the right side is a Great European Mountain-Dragon, but one of his forefathers was a Firedragon.^^ He is the father of Cyriac(farphyni.deviantart.com/art/I-…), and his name is "Bor'thalitis". The younger dragon on the left side is also a Great European Mountain-Dragon, but one of his forefathers was a Waterdragon.^^ His name is "Xantrax'syll". Xannys charackter is aktiv, funny and nice. He loves to make jokes and is veeery curious. Thalls charackter is completly different: calm, silent and strict.^^ As you read this two dragons are different in more than only one way, but they are very good friends. They think that they complement each other. (so also oppsites can be friends :dummy) The two are best friends since they were hatched x3 The woman in the blue dress is named Somalian Ebula (the dress is blue because this colour stands for trust). She is a person who scrutinises. She loves the peace and the nature.
and now to the situation on the drawing: Xanny and Thall are sitting in the mountains with Mali (yaay nicknames xDD) && looking at the small village in the valley (Mali lived there). It's the last time that they can take a look at this world. Xanny is a bit angry (that's why he is breathing a small flame), cuz he liked the world. Thall is also not happy, but he keep his pokerface on^^. Mali is just sitting there and enjoying the moment of peace. The clouds on the sky are partly dark and partly coloured and partly white. This is standing for the life and all his facets. Thall is sitting behind a ruin of a castle, which stands for the broken relationsship between humans and dragons. The mountains are golden because of the dragons endeavour to restore this relationship. well the rest you can interpret by yourself.^^
-Original Size: 32x24 cm -Media: Watercolors -Time: about 2-3 days
Got this finished sooner then I thought. I figured my dogs constant need of me throwing his ball & him obviously fetching it would pull me back. But it's done. I kinda enjoyed drawing this spirit dragon actually, I have most fun with the back grounds and going crazy with stars.
Watered down acrylics, Polychromos pencils, black & white ink pens.
Enjoy. Going to also feature on my newly made page: [link]
