Day 21! I've been wanting to do something like this for ages! More dinosaurs, yes yes. I really should have worked out the forms a bit better in the sketch stage before I started painting I think, but anyway... Also I'm not sure if their tails were actually that flexible, but hey! Getting there. Heavily based off an Egyptian Vulture colour- and feather-wise here.
Another round of sketches; been pretty busy the last few days, so here's what I put up for days 12, 13 and 15 (I have a valentines card I need to re-scan to put up here for day 14). Top half are all sketches from work with ball-point pen, doodled over today at lunchtime, squeeze-face is PS and the owls are pencil.
So, day 1! A bit of Arthas, and definitely inspired by a bit of SirFrancisDrake's awesome Warhammer Online concepts this time! He ended up looking more like a dwarf than I intended, but I don't think that detracts too much.
Something pretty usual for Day 11, at least subject matter wise! Haven't done any this month yet though, so that's alright. Nothing too specific species-wise, I should maybe try doing some more proper studies of various species, could be fun - haven't really tried any properly feathered raptors yet, either. HMMMM...
Anyway! Enjoy. Sorry for no processes; I was saving regularly for this one but then my computer crashed just before I was finished so *poof*! I need a better method, perhaps...
Something small and simple last night for Day 7. Wasn't really sure what I was doing, and birds are always fun to play around with! No sense of geographical consistency, just a smattering of tropical-ish birds I like.
My lovely girlfriend was talking yesterday about a robin that was hopping around in her garden in the rain, and I started thinking about the fact that there's some sort of bird called a Robin pretty much everywhere, even if they're not actually at all related.
Just a bit of fun, birds are always nice to paint. (Probably could have added in a yellow robin for variety too, but there you go)
