Famous Photographers: What we can learnThere are things that we can learn from everybody, whether it's as they say - sitting at the feet of an elderly person - or indeed reading from a book, looking at history in photos and so on. But what, if anything, can we learn from the Famous Photographers of the past? Well, plenty.Famous Photographers: What we can learn3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Julie Margaret Cameron
She was a shrewd business woman, and her fame came from having the only photographs of some very famous iconic people in History. And how did she manage this? By meticulously keeping details and registering her copyright with every single Photograph she took. We can learn a lot from her actions, particularly in an age where anything can be replicated, if you have the right tools. Equally, we can also learn the value of the equipment we have around us, and how easy it is now to capture a photograph and share it with the world. Julie's time in Sri Lanka served as a testimony that without pure water and chemicals, she couldn't continue with her craft and a

WAVES OF DOUBT
I remember this one night I couldn't get anything to work with LMS. I couldn't draw, I couldn't write, I couldn't be creative. I felt trapped, sick to my stomach and had an ongoing feeling of anxiety.
I would get up, walk around, and force ideas. Stupid, uncreative and rushed thoughts. I went upstairs and laid down next to my gf at the time,
Illustrator Need For Paying Comic Book ProjectLooking for an illustrator for a comic book series that I'm writing called "Night Wolf." So far I have 12 issues written. An artist who can do both illustration and coloring would be preferred, but is not required.Illustrator Need For Paying Comic Book Project3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Night Wolf" is about a teenager who on his 18th birthday discovers that he was born a werewolf and is reluctantly thrown into a supernatural war between good and evil.
This is a start-up project so I don't have much money, but I do have $2,100 that I can pay for character designs, a Cover and 24 pages for the fist issue.
Once the character designs are finalized, and have some solid sequential artwork I plan to submit a proposal to kickstarter.com and indiegogo.com to get additional funding for the project, publishing, advertising, distribution, etc.
Compensation for future issues is negotiable. Payment can continue to be work on a commission basis, or we can discuss payment based on a percentage of the profit from sales from the title(s) worked on.

Fire! For years its always frustrated me on how to colour fire effectively. Make it look real so to speak.Fire!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I think I've cracked it...
In the past I either painted the flames in and then used the smudge tool to distort the living daylights out of it and did this on a few layers until it all started to look ok. The other option was to use a photo of some flames, and then set it to screen mode to get rid of any black so it could appear transparent over whatever was burning underneath. This works but has the disadvantage of making the flames look a little washed out. More layers of the flames helps but again isn't perfect.
However this time on the picture that I'm doing now (Keu Cha's Hex TLT Issue 1 cover with inks by k-omer. -- all for fun.) I did my usual little gradient glow of white-orange-yellow-transparent but then grabbed a flame photo and quite by accident copied the red channel and pasted it into a new layer....
WOW! I now have full colour photo flames on their own transparent l

There is always a reason. A level of insult. An unprovoked assault. A threat of invasion. A refusal to negotiate in good faith. A refusal to compromise. There is always something so unbearable that it must be righted with no more delay and by any means, by even the last means, necessary. That final means is war.
Ever since mankind became able to produce and possess more than necessary for survival, there has been a surplus of resources. It is the treasure that has built our civilization and shaped the special magic and glory of what it is to be a human being.
The struggle for control and division of that treasure sometimes infects men’s minds with a unique

Halloween entertainment… or invitation to evil?
Grimoire 2 by AndrewDobell
We all know from the movies that a vampire can’t cross over the threshold into one’s home without being invited. And yet simply knowing that Dracula can be held at bay so easily makes issuing that invitation all the more irresistible. Could such things as supernatural beings actually be real? And could there be ways for we mere mortals to have the power to evoke them into existence or dismiss them as we might pleas

Someone had asked me a couple weeks ago how comics were made. I first thought they were asking how the physical book was printed and stapled and distributed. But it turns out they were asking how a book was made from concept, to writing, to the art.
And I realized, unless you have been a life long comic fan, the answer isn’t that obvious. And so, I’m going to show you step by step how a comic is made. I’ll be using my comic Shadows of Oblivion as the example, however most comics are not a one man show like mine, most are team efforts, so keep that in mind as we go through this. Each stage is usually executed by one person who is an ex

Fan fiction and fan art are both enormous components of our popular culture, a way we retell our favorite stories just as humans have always retold myths and legends. But sometimes creators, publishers, and studios claim that works of fan art and fan fiction violate their copyright. So is that Supernatural fanfic you're working on legal, or should you worry about the lawyers coming a-calling?
This is a question that gets asked a lot in the comments and warrants a detailed discussion. Fan works are an important part of our cultural landscape. Retelling stories and remaking artworks offers us new perspectives on familiar cultural works, and it's part of our nature as human beings to imagine different version
2D + 3D CommissionsHello, you arrived at my Commisions page2D + 3D Commissions3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you are interested in getting a CGI image created for you, please continue to the section you are interested in. There are three sections:
2D section covers all kind of colored, shaded images, preferably drawn with outlines.
3D works is about polygonal objects of all kinds, textured and with some post-processing for nice looks.
Vector images refer to things drawn with hard lines and occasional shading, such as blueprints and ink-like drawings.
I do all kinds of art and I'm opened to different styles (vector drawings of a Star Wars ship, 3D render of a Stargate vehicle, blueprint for a Dune tank and of course every kind of original universe objects and scenes) so don't be afraid to ask for anything that you can think of.
You can also check examples of my commisioned work and private gallery works on the bottom of this entry.
I am looking forward to working with you and seeing a happy finish

Copyright and "Theft"
Why sharing can be illegal.
There is quite a bit of confusion about copyright law, the DMCA, fair use, de minimus, etc. And rightly so. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt when I come across what appears to be a "theft" issue. Even people in the United States, the home of the DMCA and one of the strongest supporters of

Lived Long and ProsperedThe great Leonard Nimoy has died, age 83.Lived Long and Prospered5 months ago in Personal More Like This
There’s not really much I can write about the chap or his impact on sci-fi culture that you’re not already aware of. We all knew and loved him as Spock from Star Trek. Hell, I named one of my webcomic’s characters after him.
Nimoy never forgot about his fans, either, and how it is they who ensured his lasting popularity. It’s telling that it was he who cameoed in the recent Trek films and not Shatner.
Being the awesome man he was, his final words to the public (by way of twitter) were “LLAP”.
“Live Long and Prosper”.
