Because it helps me get my feelings out.
It's the only way I know how.
I'm the girl who will love anyone
No matter who they are.
I'm the girl, who can be annoying at times,
But I love life and everything in it.
I'm the girl who will always make
Room in her heart for someone,
Because I love just about everyone.
I'm the girl, who will flirt with you,
But never admit to you how I really feel.
I'm the girl who will truly love you.
No one will ever love you as much as I do.

To feel something, but...
be unable to express what it is;
to be silent;
to fight it alone.
I know how much it hurts,
but I don't know how to show it.
Poetry used to be my refuge,
a place where I could be alone -
express all my emotions,
without being judged.
I'm losing it.
I can't connect to poetry.
Everything sounds so stupid...
Everything I write sounds stupid.
I have to erase all my feelings,
because they don't sound right.
The words aren't real.
They don't show what I feel
And maybe this will be the last.
Maybe I'm gone:
lost of all emotions.
I'm truly alone...
I used to have poetry.
Now I have nothing.
What if....?What if the love we shared wasn't as deep as we thought? What if....?2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
If it were as much as we thought
Wouldn't we be able to stop fighting about this?
Wouldn't we be able to settle our differences?
Don't you think we'd be able to resist?
If our love was as strong as we thought
Wouldn't we be able to find a better reason?
To stay together other than boredom and rejection
Wouldn't I be able to swallow my opinion?
If our love was as strong as we thought
Wouldn't we be able to smile?
Instead of feigning one in denial
If my love was as pure as the purest of springs
Wouldn't I be able to drop everything when you needed?
Wouldn't I be able to be less conceited?
If your love was as strong as the pull of gravity
Wouldn't you be able to love me all the time?
Be able to go smoothly along the ride
If our love was truly true
Wouldn't I always want to be there with you?
Wouldn't I want to listen to your complaints and learn what you knew?
Wouldn't I want to be there when you're happy, and catch you when you're

Remember Your DuesRemember Your Dues:Remember Your Dues2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
You think you can forget it;
As soon as you forget it,
Believe you will regret it,
Relieved of all your credit.
Your honour and your lifestyle,
Curled around my knife while-
You sit and play your games,
Thinking everything's the same.
But I'm watching and I'm waiting;
This patience suffocating,
But it's worth the while I'm waiting
For this hatred I am facing.
You thought it was forever,
And so you did endeavour;
To pretend the chains and ties,
That bind you; they have died.
But the fact is you have lied;
Forgotten where you're tied.
The markings on your side,
Remember why you hide!
But its too late for apologies;
The ice has just cracked -
And my gun has just cracked,
And soon you're getting capped.
No love for another traitor,
No love for another hater.
Remember who is greater:
A king or his creator?

It Came From The DarkIt Came From The Dark:It Came From The Dark2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Amongst the ashes, swirling from the darkness of the pit,
Emerged a hand, dragging a battered body across the rocks.
Blood leaked from the wounds so callously self-inflicted,
And teeth ground with a focused determination and seething anger.
It cared not for the warm rubies - staining the jagged rocks,
It cared not for the sensation of pain...
All that it remembered was a dream, An obsession -
One that drove it ever higher; ignoring all else!
Eventually it emerged from this shadowy hole, this dreary depth,
And in that moment, it learned of the truth.
For this creature, denied sunlight and warmth -

and I'm crouched in the corner, embraced by the dark,
thinking of how there could have been a chance
for me to wake up next to you, your emerald eyes
webbed with emotion, your body limp
from jerking in your sleep. I imagine ruffled sheets,
broken lamps, and permeating heat.
I think of how we could have jogged together
along roadsides and doubled over with thorns
in our ribs at your feeble attempts to whistle Dixie.
I'm collapsing inward, reminiscing on the truths
I should have told you and how every boy I pass
has your face, your dark brown hair, your lips.
And I cry. Oh, do I cry.
I saw you hunched over one day, exhausted
from nightmares, sipping Gatorade and reciting
poetry about there being beauty in decay,
and I couldn't help but think that you
were living proof of that phenomenon.
I wanted to cry for you and tell you about that time

I make breathing the cosmos
through rose colored lungs
look easy- vertebrae stretched

I swore then I'd keep my
black tongued poetry
& uprooted limbs far,
far away from you.
But, like lies, galaxies,
& night fevers, you
are the destination

The Way We LiveThe Way We Live:The Way We Live2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
We all have our own little struggles;
Pushing on forward as the tragedies double.
A life led with pain and exhaustion too immense,
I'm pushing down walls as my muscles go tense.
But these are the words that you'll never hear me spit.
I'd never say I'm 'giving up' or if I should 'quit'.
I'm really freaking stupid so just tell it to my face,
And even then I'd never give up the right to race.
I'm like a lone arrow drawn and shot from a bow,
Blustered by the winds of all the things I don't know.
I'd never figure out if I'd reach the final mark,
But I know that I'd never lose my glowing inner spark.
And that's all it takes just to keep this body going.
With calloused hands in this ocean I'm still rowing
Searching for some land out amidst a sea of black;
A wandering gypsy bearing burdens on his back.

Tomorrow Is Another DayHow can I dreamTomorrow Is Another Day2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
When I'm hurt?
How can I smile
When I'm dirt?
How can I hope
When I'm forgotten?
How can I be
When I'm nothing?
I don't know how
But there are some things
That you just have to do
If not for yourself
Then for someone close
I don't know if these words
Will impact you, or set an impression
But take this advice
From an old cutter
It gets better, even if your life has melted like butter
You're not forgotten
You're always in someone's mind
You're not dirt
Cause to someone you shine
There is still hope for you
Even if your dream is broken
I noticed that
When the girl I loved, came even closer
Don't hurt yourself today
Cause you never know

I feel like I've awakened from a comatose state
And the world has gone on without me.
I stretch my legs and take a walk outside
And for the very first time I see:
A strange kind of beauty, that is utterly alluring
It calls out to my spirit with the gentlest of cries.
I'm afraid to admit, for it was rather unmanly,
That I left with tears in my eyes...
I can't imagine how I could have forgotten
The very way that I used to walk...
I remember now my habitual actions
And I've even learned to talk!
"Arrr me hearties, good day to ya all
It be a fine day ta sail on tha sea
And if we find a plethora o' treasure;
Then yer drinks are all on me!"
I must admit it that brought me a smile
To be speaking my native brogue.
It reminded me that a dashing man
Should always be a playful rouge.
But that aside I'm feeling better
For now my mind has found its peace.
A comforting sense of order and structure
It's almost as rare as the golden fleece.

I'm sorry I can only try
But it hurts when you get angry
And you don't say why
You look at me in tears
Sometimes you almost shout
The frustration you bring upon me
The anger you bring out
I'm mad because I care
I want nothing more than to see you smile
I just want to help
And believe me
I'll be here a while
When you cry
My eyes tear at the seams
When you're sad
Rain clouds haunt my dreams
But when you laugh or smile
My lips curl up too
You still just make me so happy, I only wish I could express
How much I still love you.

That when it comes to stashing bodies, we are most adept...

The Boy That Brought HopeHer eyes shone with hope in a world full of darkness. The hope the boy gave her with every word he spoke. The Boy That Brought Hope3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
She was the girl, who dreamt, dreamt about everything a normal girl was afraid to dream about. She dreamt about seventh heaven, she had always wanted to fly and breathe under water, the power which her dreams gave her. It seemed funny if said aloud but she believed. She believed every cloud had a silver lining. She used to sing, her voice so beautiful that when she sang, all the birds became silent just to listen to her. But then reality hit its toll, the world shattered even her smallest of dreams, broke her into pieces. She could see everything slip right through her fingers. She lost all will to believe, everyday had a new tragic tale, and the razor-sharp words would cut deep into her flesh. She became a butterfly who's beautiful feathered-wings were clipped off, and she was left to die there.
"Is it all worth it?" She asked herself.
She could hear it in the back of her head.
I Comfort MyselfWith a warm drink, whispering secrets to my own reflection.I Comfort Myself2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The struggles that plague me, though none may know,
Are only for the ears of my quiet mirror, who smiles
Softly, warmly and with care. He tells me, I'm fine
I've done well for now and soon I may finally rest.
Though the silence continues to press upon me,
Weighing upon my soul like an iron crate.
Still I find comfort in whispering secrets,
If only to my own reflection - holding a warm drink...

Machine ManMachine Man:Machine Man2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
It began with but a simple command, "to do as we are told".
Never to deviate from this path - never to nurture the soul.
We are told that we are given a purpose; "a part of something great!"
Yet why oh why am I so weary of that which is my fate?
Am I an error, a single anomaly, unable to feel intact?
Or am I missing some special attribute - a facet which I lack.
In a society made of fleshed machines; robots wearing skin,
Perhaps I'm simply seeking something, to fill this metal tin.

that it is one of the many virtues
you don't yet possess,
but he will dig through the flesh in your ribcage
until he finds it lodged beneath everything
you're too scared to confess.
he will teach you forgiveness, remind you that you are not a mistake.
he will wipe the trails of tears that always seem to decorate your cheeks
and replace them with rose petals, saying that he chose the color red

You haven't talked at all today.
Mommy, Daddy, can't you see?
You're really starting to hurt me.
All you do is scream and fight,
and I hear it all throughout the night.
Sometimes I think my eyes will run dry,
yet whenever I do, I just continue to cry.
"She doesn't care about any of this, she'll be fine by tomorrow!"
Daddy, you don't know how much your words fill me with sorrow.
"Can't you just be civilized?! Stop acting like a child, and apologize right now!"
Mommy, please don't make this worse, or I'll run outside and hide in the snow.
Mommy, Daddy, I wish you would just stop everything and be happy again.
I'm hiding under the blankets, writing these words down with a pen.
Mommy, Daddy, can't you see?
You're tearing my heart into one, two, three.
A piece for each of us, a piece of my heart,
the beating has stopped before it could start.
Two sections I wish I could install into both of you,

Don’t know why I even try.
You were never the type who liked
To listen to what was on my mind,
But I’ll just keep talking anyway.
Maybe this time I’ll get through.
Here’s the thing:
I want to be the reason why
You can’t sleep at night,
Or the reason you don’t eat.
I want you to feel that twist
In your stomach when you see
Something that reminds you of me.
I want you to know the
Feeling of a heart that has been torn.
It beats in your chest, but it still isn't
Enough to convince you that you’re alive.
I want you to feel emptiness every
Time you realize that I’m not there,
And that it is because of you.
Believe me when I say I don’t
Miss you, and that I never could have
Possibly been in love with you.
I want you to see what you've done,
And actually mean it when you say you’re sorry.
I want so many things that will never happen
All because you were better than I was.
