I stand in the quiet,
But I feel him coming.
I begin to run,
As fast as my little legs can carry me.
I can see him now,
as he bends down,
preparing to catch me in his arms,
and lift me to the sky.
His gentle face has a smile.
His warm arms surround me in an embrace.
I'm finally home.
I'm finally safe.
He'll never let go,
He is my protector,
and he has given me so much,
for which I am eternally grateful.
My joy over whelms me,
As I sit on my Father's lap,
As he sits on the throne.
I am a child of God.
So are you.
And he didn't just do this to me,
He did this for you too.

So far in my sixteen years of living I have seen three temples; the first temple that I saw was the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple, then the one where I live, and thirdly I saw the Salt Lake City Temple. I always feel closer to the spirit being on temple grounds. And when I went to these beautiful places, whether it was about the church in general, the temple itself, or about myself, I always learned something.
If any of you have ever been to Nauvoo, you know that it is an incredibly small town. I passed the temple probably every day last summer when I was there. Yes, only one year ago did I see a temple up close and walk on its grounds. I was not a member of the church last year, and I'm still not, but I take lessons and go to church regularly. It was in Nauvoo that I started. It wasn't the temple that got me "believing" though; it was many other things that I won't go into right now, but the temple is c
Heavenly MotherI wonderHeavenly Mother3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Why do we call Him
Our "Heavenly Father"?
Is it possible
That we may have
A Heavenly Mother, too?
She must be beautiful
Kind and loving
That a true mother
Can and should be.
The gleam in her eyes
Must rival the stars;
The brightness of her smile
Must exceed the sun.
If there was ever a time
When I lay in her arms,
My head on her heart
I fancy I can hear
Her sweet voice telling me
How much she loves me,
How much she misses me.
If there truly is a Heavenly Mother,
Why is it
That we hardly ever hear of her?
In all the holy scriptures,
No mention is made of her.
I think I know.
The Lord's name,
Along with Jesus Christ's name,
Are abused right and left.
People are constantly
Taking God's name in vain
They speak of the Eternal Father,
Of the Only Begotten,
Wished to keep Mother's name pure
Perhaps He kept her name concealed
I Drew You a PictureMany years ago when I was small,I Drew You a Picture1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
I drew a picture.
Mostly of scribles and blobs of color, but I wanted to give it to the Lord.
I was told you do nice things to people you love.
Drawing picture was one of the ways my five year old mind could think of.
Once I was done I had a problem,
how do I get the drawing to heaven?
Couple of crazy ideas came to mind,
Mailing it to his house,
But the mail truck can't fly.
Getting on an airplane and throw it out the window by heaven,
gravity would pull it down to the ground and then he couldn't read it.
Tie a balloon to it and send it up,
what if the balloon missed.
When I got old my ghost would grab it and give it to him,
Ghosts can't grab paper.
I finally got on my knees and prayed,
"I drew you a picture, I hope you can see it."

Those blessings that for them have been performed.
Formerly things that we could not perceive,
Save that the church of Christ had been reformed.
The blessings to us given from above
A loving, gracious God is behind all
These things he gives to us with only love,
Both after and before Adam's great fall.
Be gracious, honest, true, and always meek,
And passage to the temple always seek.

The mind loves the Idols,
Of the mortal world,
You can't hear the productive of importants,
That tries to warn you.
As six days go's by,
A Sunday comes to sigh,
Another weekly end,
That has a religious tradition.
Going to a church on that Sabbath day,
The mind is still caught up with the weekly ways.
Then a word,
A word that is familiar to the ears,
Repent for the precious time you wasted.
The fruit of life will never be tasted.

And you become lost because you let go,
You fall on your knees and weep, ready to give up,

A mother cries herself to sleep at night,
Try as she might, it's just never enough,
"I'm not strong enough," she says, "to raise my children alone."
Then a feeling of calm overcomes her grief as He says, "Take my hand."
A pioneer trudges through the snow on bare feet,

All her life people told her she wasn't good enough.
All her life she tried to fit in, but she learned those things were so small compared to his plan.
One day she looked in the mirror and noticed something she had never seen before.
The mirror still reflected back her imperfect skin and plain hair, but now she could look past that and see her heavenly fathers features relfected in her own.
Seeing that reminded her of who she was and that she did matter.
She whispered to herself "I was sent here to become like him. That's the perpose of this life and from now on I will never forget that."

Suffer the Little ChildrenElder Jeremiah "Jeremy" Goodman had only been in the Alaska Fairbanks mission for five months, and he was already loving it. Even in the winter, when the days were as short as five ours, the land known on license plates as 'The Last Frontier' had certainly earned the reputation for its natural beauty and splendor. Traveling in the winter was somewhat inconvenient, especially since they had to put chains on the tires of their car. But at least they got around, spreading the Gospel to all who wished to hear. His companion, Paul Jensen, didn't share his positive outlook. Elder Jensen hadn't completely lost his faith, but appeared to be suffering from seasonal affective depression. Getting him out of bed each morning was a struggle for Elder Goodman, but somehow they managed. Today, they were on the way to visit a new family: the Khokhlakovs. The car pulled up and the men got out, wearing snow shoes.Suffer the Little Children4 years ago in Spiritual & Occult More Like This

In a dream he spoke to me
He spoke to me and He said
Prepare yourself now...
We walked together
Down a long lane in autumn
And leaves fell softly
We stopped at a house.
It was large, blue, and gorgeous
The house I've wanted.
Something was missing
I don't know what was not right,
But it seemed lonely.
He said this is it
I said "Is this my future?"
He smiled and said this:
Are you happy here?
With tears in my eyes, I said
No Lord, I am not
He wiped them away
And we departed again
And stopped in a grove
He sat on a log
I took a place beside him
And sighed heavily.
How can I be happy here?"
He smiled once again
Pointing toward a trail
A young man stood, looking lost
And I went to him.
I knew this young man.
I had loved him long ago.
Then I said his name
I looked in his eyes
I shook his hand, said "hello".
He pulled me toward him.
He whispered two words
In my ear then, "I'm sorry"
We embraced, I cried.
I turned to Father
"This is happiness!" I cried

Has anyone noticed, the ideas of the world?
The ideas of the family should thus be hurled (away).
Why must this be, such a horrendous gesture?
The importance of a family is for all, I pester.
One may think that their family is only,
the ones they were born to. Them and them only.
But a family is much more than your parents and brothers,
it is your relation towards others.
Your best friend is a sibling of yours,
while your very own teacher is a loved one, of course.
Your enemy, the bully, is just another friend.
You guys are just friends, on the other end!
I can not stress what importance it is,
A family to have, a family that lives.
"Love thy neighbor" is something we know,
as much as we know about the fallen snow.
When we choose to love, instead of hate,
our family is bigger and it isn't too late.
The adversary knows that a family is forever,
so, he tries his hardest to stop this endeavor.
Hold true, my friends, family, and all,
do not let the vile one let you fall.

"It's a No-Brainer"...that's the life that Satan wanted for us. If life wasn't hard, and if the Lord didn't allow bad things to happen to us, or if we were punished immediately for doing wrong, Satan would have gotten his way. Satan wanted people to blindly follow him. Since he can't have his way, he wants everyone to suffer like him, so he causes bad things to happen and evil men to do evil things.
God allows these things to happen, first of all because he promised us freedom to choose. Some people choose evil, which causes pain to themselves and others. But it also fulfills God's plan, for without knowing the bitter, it's impossible to fully appreciate the sweet moments in life because we have nothing to compare them to. Ironically, Satan and his guile and malisciousness and hatred and wickedness will help us to appreciate just how wonderful and honest and pe
