I want him
He's no knight
He'll never take the vows
But he's brave and loyal
He showed me mercy
He protected a maiden who could not protect herself
He's not much to look upon
But I don't want someone golden and handsome and smiling
I want him
He's gruff in words and actions
He can be scary
He takes what he wants and gives nothing
I'll never be his little bird
He'll never say he loves me
Not in front of them
Not in front of me
Not in the hearing of the gods
But I don't want someone who is an open book
Handsome and chivalrous to a fault
I want him
He gives me nothing
Only one night
When he was in his cups
Did he ever
Show me what he felt
Even then he gave nothing
Took only a song
And a kiss
And leaving me
Nothing but a bloody cloak.
Hidden AwayI palm the sides of my head with my hands, in some attempt to block out the screaming I hear wafting up from downstairs.Hidden Away3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
I can not, however, remove the ringing from my head or the rapid pumping of my blood through every vein in my body.
I can't just hear it - I can feel it. I can feel every vein in my body inhaling and exhaling, I can feel the erratic pulse of liquid traveling through me.
It makes me uncomfortable. I squirm and shake my head a little, trying to lose that pumping, pulsing feeling that drives me insane.
It takes me a minute to slowly raise my head and to realize that the screaming has stopped.
Something was wrong. The screaming never stopped. At least not this early.
I pull my knees closer to my chest, and stare at the spider webbed wall in front of me. It's all I can really see, in this darkness.
Most children are scared of their closets. But for me, they're an escape, a sanctuary.
A hiding place.
I contemplate sliding the wooden door over a bit, to try and let some sun

People are always going to tell you
Who to be and who you are
It's your job to say
This is me
Draw if you want to draw
Write if you want to write
Eat foods you want to eat
And do what you want to do.
Society has images
That we are all supposed to conform to
Be who you want to be
And not what other people tell you to be.
Just because you like
Something that no one else does
That you are any less of a person
Everyone is strange in their own way
And it will always be your job
To be who you want
And to do what you want.
Anorexia"I don't want to eat" I say, looking at her face.Anorexia10 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
My voice is so quiet now, she just hands me the plate.
When I don't take it she asks me to repeat.
So I say with more volume "I don't want to eat".
I stand up to leave but she grabs my arm.
She says I must be hungry and I am, I am.
But I tell her I'm not and rush upstairs.
She shouts "You have to eat" but I just don't care.
I stand in front of a mirror, my body makes me sick.
I wish I was a 'magazine-girl' beautifully thin as a stick.
But I'm so horribly fat, and I'm so disgustingly huge.
I can't bear to look at myself or stand the sight of food.
I wake up one day, and I'm too weak to move.
The Doctor comes, says it's from lack of food.
I've eaten so little so why am I still so big?
I'm told I'm dying of anorexia, two weeks to live.
I'm force-fed for a few days but I throw it back up.
They say I'm going to die but I just want to look good.
"I can't be anorexic, I'm not even thin!"
I keep telling the Doctor but he's not listening.

It has been 5 months since Erwin has confessed to you. It was great for the both of you and all but you both know it had to be kept a secret. No one must know about an ordinary soldier loving her Commander. However, ever since that HQ had a tian shifter on their side, everything just got crazier. Causing you not to see your Erwin as often. You would see each other passing by through the hallways, but both of you would always have something in your hands.
Instead: he would give you a lustful smirk without the other soldiers watching. It made you blush, all the time, making your face a bit red before going to Hanji's office. She would always question it; but after seeing it a couple of times in a row, she just stopped asking.
One time; you were carrying a box full of files, huffing a sigh as you were walking down the halls. By surprise, you saw Erwin there, talking to a soldier who was carrying a few files for him. He noticed your presence, making that smirk again. You looked

Seeking Your StarMarch 20, 2014Seeking Your Star1 year ago in Letters More Like This
Some stars burn so brightly, they burst before they see the cosmos unfold. You shared the warmth of your glow with as many as you could before you rose too high for the sky to handle and scattered sacred stardust across it. Your legacy is seen in constellations.
A few days later
Mom called me to the window today to show me a lone star in a cloudless sky. She said she thought of you.

Nana told me at lunch today that she heard footsteps in the room where she keeps your urn. She went upstairs to greet Papa several times, thinking the footsteps were his, but found him sleeping. Our waitress gave each woman at our booth a carnation. Outside, sunlight adorned our skin and held us.
I could have sworn I felt you holding us, too.

Electric Feel - RayrardElectricity is a curious phenomenon.Electric Feel - Rayrard4 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
I don't know much about it, but I do know that sometimes, we don't really think about it. It's thereit's everywhere we go. Sometimes we don't notice it. We can go through most of our lives without giving it any thought. It might not even pass through our conscience. Because, the fact is, it isn't something we all talk about. With its exceedingly conventional presence, maybe it should be a common topic of conversation or even casual remark. We're associated with it every day. It wasn't innovated---it's as natural and atmospheric as weatherit's been around for millions of years, up in the clouds. It's almost like the weather'Weather's nice today, eh?', you might say. No one ever really says, 'Electricity's fine today.' Or 'How's the electric currents today?' No.
About the only time we ever truly think about it is when we don't have it. When we're in the dark, we try to find that electricity againthe lightbecause li

I was in my own house during the middle of the night. This place was abandoned. Or, at least I thought it was.
I had heard the terrible creaks and moans of this old house. It was as if the house was alive as well. It terrified me. With every step I took, I swore I heard more echoing behind me. The shadows cast upon the walls were no help at all. I couldn't help but mistake them for the figures lurking in the dark, waiting for the right moment to strike.
The first option was to find something to defend myself with. I crept as slowly and quietly as I could towards the kitchen. Knifes, I thought. Simple, light, and direct. I slipped through the doorway, then instantly regretted my decision. A human-like figure stood in front of the counter. He was facing me, almost as if he was awaiting my arrival. His hands were clenched into tight fists as if he was itching to strangle someone. I dared to look up at his face. Horrible, horrible mistake.
It was a face I recognized, but it wasn't. It was

BitterWhen the feastgoers finally got around to realizing that Hiccup had been missing from his chair for a while, perfectly understandable confusion ensued. Not a great deal of the villagers were worried; Hiccup had a tendency to skitter off when no one was looking, and he was probably out stargazing or something equally pointless.Bitter5 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
As the brief amount of time he'd been gone eventually morphed into hours, the first sprouts of concern started rustling through the village, but sleep was had without a great deal of anxiety, even on Stoick's end. Then the sun rose through the morning fog, and Hiccup was still nowhere to be found, and that was when Berk began to stew.
Stoick ordered search parties to be formed immediately, and before the morning was over, the skies were filled with Vikings riding their dragons over the mountains and treetops. It was peculiar – if this had happened a couple of years ago, nobody would have cared as much as they did now.

Finally. After several hours of pushing and immense pain, you welcomed a beautiful little boy into the world. As the wife of a prince of Durin, it was expected of you to give your husband a male heir, but you knew Fili would be just as happy with a daughter as well.
You had been in Rivendell visiting Lady Arwen, whom you had befriended on your journey to Erebor, when you had gone into labor. Arwen had rushed you to the Healing Halls as Fili stood by feeling helpless. He had not been allowed in the room for the delivery so he had been pacing the halls since you entered the room.
The door opened and Fili stopped his pacing. Arwen approached him and gestured for him to enter. “Lady Y/N has someone for you to meet.”
"Thank you, my lady." He replied and slowly entered the room.
You laid on the bed, looking beautiful but exhausted with a big smile on your face, holding a small bundle in your arms. “Come here, my love, and meet your son.”
