I'm in no position to teach anybody and suck at explaining things anyway, so it's probably better to point you at some other sources.

This is very heart warming to see other artists inspired by my works. The greatest compliment is to see someone else mimic you and that certainly holds true. If I missed any one's piece inspired by me, just leave a link to it in the comments and I'll throw it up here. Check these out.

Are perceptions slowing you down?Without the wonderful phenomenon of perception, we human beings would be highly confused creatures, unable to understand the world around us. On a more abstract and less biological level, perception plays a large role in how we form opinions. A lot of the world around us is based in absolutes, for example: apples are, and will forever will be, either red or green however, there are less rigid "rules" so to speak for other categories of "things", art being one of them. Art is a forever evolving animal, changing, growing, warping, and expanding. It crosses over boundaries and breaks through barricades, it whispers and shouts at the same time. Art is very powerful, infectious and potent. All of these things explain why we feel almost violated when we see art we do not like (which is a discussion for a later blog ) What we will be discussing here today are our perceptions of art. One of the many wonderful things about the arts (all of them, not only the visual arts) arAre perceptions slowing you down?2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
How to : Find Art ThievesPlease this journal, so that a lot of people can read it.How to : Find Art Thieves3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I noticed that a lot of people don't know how to search for their photos on the internet, so here is a short tutorial. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about art thieves, but i still think it is important to look out for them.
1. visit Google.com
2. Go to the page of the photo you want to search and click "show image"
3. Copy the Link and paste it into google.
4. This page should open, click "search by image".
5. Now you can browse trough the results.
6. The less results the happier you should be.
EDIT : You can also use websites like : tineye.com and iqdb.com
This was pointed out to me by some people, personally i have no experience with them, but i am sure that they work too.

Opening the Darkest Door
I have recently come across a most disturbing phenomenon in my studies of the Diabolic Infestation of the Soul. It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.
From the Exorcist through Paranormal Activity, generation after generation of “believers” seem to have come to the reali
Tutorials and techniquesQuite a lot of people keep asking me for tutorials and to be honest I see no point in creating yet another strip on how to paint skin/clothes/light/carrots/whatever. There are so many of them out there that it would be simply a waste of time to sit and basically copy what's already been told.Tutorials and techniques4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Instead, I've decided to make a compilation of different tutorials and charts that I personally use to learn how to paint.
The most important thing you need to learn even before starting to read a tutorial is that all walk-throughs are meant for you to understand how things work. My point is that after reading and later practicing a tutorial called 'how to paint a glass duck' you should be able to paint not only a glass duck but also anything else made of glass. You should concentrate on understanding the rules and patterns instead of trying to copy what you see on the image. Otherwise you'll end up knowing how to paint only a few things from only one perspective and one lightning pattern.
Tutorials and techniques 2It's time to refresh the tutorial journal! Added some new ones and removed those which, after some time, I found a bit misleading.Tutorials and techniques 23 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Below you'll find a list of tutorials I personally think of as the best on dA. If I have any problems with painting something I usually take a look at one of those.
Is there anything you're having troubles with? Need help looking for a good tutorial? Or maybe you'd like to see a video walk-through of me painting something?
I'm open for suggestions for what kind of tutorial/walk-through you'd like to see from me. If you're interested in anything, post your suggestions in the comments!

ast week we published the video of Josh Wattles, makepictures Fan Art Law panel from Comic-Con. An educative, passionate and very enlightening conversation soon followed in the comments section. You can participate in that conversation here.
This week the superstars of deviantART panel will provide unique insight and advice for artists on the rise in the deviantART community.
Being a member of the deviantART community might be the most important support system a young artists could ever hope to have. That being said, there is also the problem of finding a way to stand out when surrounde

101 Questions for: Cherry (My character) 101 Questions You Should Be Able to Answer About Your Character101 Questions for: Cherry (My character)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?
Cheryl Jane Chocoalate. My nick name is Cherry. I sometimes write Cherry on my papers because Cheryl is too serious for me.
2. How old are you? When is your birthday?
I'm 19 and my birthday is September 11th.
3. Where were you born? Where do you live now? Are you patriotic?
I was born in Madison, Alabama. I live in the same place, and no, I'm not.
4. Who are/were your parents? (Names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My mother was goofy as can be, and I never had anything to do with my real father. I took my step as my real one, because I didn't know any other dads I had. He had a habbit of not saying much, but it helped me be a goofy go-getter.
5. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I don't have any, but if I could I would have a little sister.
6. What is your occupation?

My First DD! (Whoo)Hey guys, got a really neat surprise a couple of days ago: one of my works (Guardian's Crusade - The World) managed to get a Daily Deviation! I didn't even notice until I realized I had like 2000 message stacks (2000 is pretty big for me, usually I get like oh, 15?). Huge thanks to Ginryuzaki for suggesting it and Thiefoworld for featuring it, also shoutout and BIG thanks to all my new watchers and those who faved my works recently, I really appreciate it! I'll keep doing my best and keep improving at this art stuff, I promise! My First DD! (Whoo)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I also just finished a piece for the Lightning Returns contest recently. Crazy rushed amidst a bunch of work I've been getting recently (extremely grateful for those) and I kind of strained my arm a little in the process, soo I'll be taking it easy on the drawing for awhile. So to all you guys out there using the computer and wacom, drawing and painting for hours on end, remember to take care of yourselves.

The reminder of this post is purely my personal story, as I felt I owe you an explanation for my absence, at the very least. So feel free to indulge in the going-ons of my life since I went into hiding.
During the latter half of last year, I was starting to lose my vision for my art. Why was I making art, for whom, for what reason...all these questions started to interfere with my drawings, and for a while, making art indeed felt like a chore. An obligation. A job. And that wasn't a good feeling.
I was overwhelmed with pressure to produce more art, be it for myself, for my watchers here, for whatever. The point is, it was causing so much unnecessary stress that I didn't need nor deserve.
So I went on self-imposed exile since late July, trying to find and rediscover what art meant for me.
