Mission: Photograph the pageant pictures for the Regional Hooters Pageant.
Goal: Offer something unique to Hooters and the women in the Pageant. Give them something other than, the normal pageant pictures.
The situation actually turned out great this year. I had a space that allowed me to have privacy and was next to the trailer the women where changing in. The previous year we had issues because it is a outdoor event and a lot of the "fans" tried to mingle with the contestants. So we had the perfect spot. We were also able to use the district managers mustang as a prop so that was really cool. The soft box is boomed up front. Always remember, especially when shooting outside, to bring something to weigh down the boom. Too easy for it to get blown over, even by the slightest gust of wind. The second light (gelled with pu

May 2013 - 31 day PAINTING challenge!UPDATE:May 2013 - 31 day PAINTING challenge!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This challenge was certainly a great experience for me. I made some mistakes that cost me a lot of time, for example sometimes I spent 5 hours on a piece that turned out wrong and instead of moving on I took a new paper and tried to make new work within the remaining hour or so. During second week, I've decided to keep the scrap works a part of my challenge, even though I won't publish them they still appear as a thumb on my challenge table. It's simply not possible for me to do 7 good pieces sometimes. Also, posting every day took way too much time to keep up, so I've decided I will be publishing remaining artworks through June continuously.
What I learned during this project of mine? It gave me a better idea about how much time I spend on one piece and what amount of time I waste on post-production. I had to make a few arrangement that hopefully make me more effective today. But mostly, I've tried new subjects that I totally LOVE, mostly architecture and flow
Fight terror with humour.I’m selective over what I go to the cinema to see. If I don’t think a movie needs to be seen on a big screen, I’ll happily wait for the DVD, seeing as they cost about the same as a movie ticket these days.Fight terror with humour.8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Comedy films are the best example of this practice. I’ll see them eventually, but they almost never tempt me into a cinema viewing.
The Interview however, I may go to see twice. I don’t have any kind of inside knowledge about how funny it will be, nor does the known plot scream “must see!”. I’m simply going to make a point of catching it at the flicks out of pure spite toward the hacking group who are making terror threats over it.
The Interview is about a celebrity journalist and his producer, who land an interview with the leader of North Korea. The CIA recruit the duo and charge them with the task of assassinating him.
The whole thing smells a bit like the Cold War classic Spies Like Us. The DPRK, however, isn

Because, well, the collars are stiff enough to stand on their own, yet the sleeves are loose enough to fold when the arms are lifted up. Then it just seems so easy to tear them off like deidara did, and they blow in the wind and shit so they cant be that heavy... So... How thick would you say they are?
Maybe they vary through the seasons?))
Do Not TouchI remember not liking anything at the Art Museum. I was 15 and my mother wondered why I was walking so fast through the galleries. I'm not sure, nothing impressed me, nothing made me stop. And then I saw them, giant sized photographs in a room I hadn't been in yet, the colors, the lighting, the story they told, just everything made me still. They were roped off, but I didn't care, I had to touch them, I had to see if it was real.Do Not Touch2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I did, I ran my fingers up and down the photographs wondering how something like this could even be made, how everything could come together so perfectly in a picture, and at the time I didn't know it because I hadn't even started photography at that age, but I fell in love with it then, and I always remember that moment when people ask me why I do photography.
"Do Not Touch That Boy!" The curator yelled at me when he saw me running my hands all over the expensive as fuck art, and I pulled back feeling like I did something wrong. But I know now that i

Fall of the Union? On the 18th of September, Scotland may break from the UK.Fall of the Union?11 months ago in Personal More Like This
As a resident of these isles, I can tell you that the general atmosphere surrounding the vote is a bit…..”meh”.
This is kind of alarming. It’s a big f**king deal for both sides of the border and people should be paying a little more attention, especially up in Scotland, since it’s they who will determine what transpires.
My opinion on the matter is that unity brings strength, but people have a right to decide their own future and if the Scots feel they’re better off going solo then they should vote “Yes”.
However, I feel that those behind the calls for independence (the same people who will hold power with a “yes” vote) are playing on an opportunity presented to them by the economic downturn between 2008 and now. It’s made their sales pitch much more enticing to those whose finances were shaken over the last 6 years by evil forces in London (naturally, they don

During the lead up to the Winter Olympics in February, for example, while large gentlemen with flails were beating the sh*t out of small, female protesters, Putin seemed to make a great effort to always mention homosexuals and paedophiles in the same sentence, as though the two were somehow linked.
I’m not suggesting that politicians elsewhere in the world don’t pull the same trick in order to rally a hysterical mob in their favour, but the Russians do it with all the subtlety of a brick.
In what I’m assuming is less an effort to protect the fragile psyche of Russia’s youth and more an attempt to thwart another dastardly Western concept (namely f

Ludwig's head jerked up when he heard screaming down the hall, he swiftly got up from his desk, and ran to the living room.
" ITALY, ________!!!"
What Germany didn't expect you and Italy standing on top of his coffee table and holding each other for dear life with tears in both your eyes. Germany facepalmed.
"Vhat is it this time?"
"S-SPIDER!!!" You both screamed simultaneously.
Germany looked down and sure enough there was a small black dot almost invisible in his carpet.
"Don't just look at it! KILL THE DAMN THING ALREADY!!" You screamed at Ludwig.
"Ve~ Ludwig saaaaave meee!!" The tears were now streaming down his cheeks.
Ludwig sighed and stepped on the arachnid before getting glomped by Feliciano, who started sobbing uncontrollably on the German mans shoulder.
Diary of Jane #8Thank you for all your Bday wishes and drawings I received, it was quite memorable this year, even though collecting memories is a depressive hobby. I turned 29 which means I have one more year to deal with the fact that I won't ever be any of the following: master of Slovakia in Latin-American dances, professional actress nor a movie director, lead singer nor microbiology PhD. I will never grow taller than 165 cm and won't end up married to Timothy Dalton (I would never have disqualify such possibility a year earlier!). Still, the list of things to be deeply thankful for is too long to fit into my journal.Diary of Jane #82 years ago in Art Features More Like This

The Hobbit: An Unexpected JourneySaw The Hobbit last night. It was very good... if a bit long. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for seeing all the little details interconnecting The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings and all that, but for the average watcher... eh... it kinda dragged. I overheard several people saying they fell asleep during the film, and I noticed more than once a number of people fidgeting and looking at their watches. Still, it's a damn fine movie and It's a shame we have to wait so long for the next two films. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Having The Hobbit being written during the beginning of Lord of the Rings is pretty smart. You could effectively watch the 3 Hobbit movies and then immediately move right into the 3 Lord of the Rings movies. Kudos to Jackson for that, it'll be great to marathon run the two trilogies back to back.
This movie was, like the book, much lighter and funnier than The Lord of the Rings and I was surprised at how much from the books they actually kept. They

Snapey goodness: now with prizes!I had no idea that little one-off Severus Snape comic page would make the rounds the way it did. It sort of exploded my inbox here and on Tumblr. (A lot of people are feeling the Harry Potter withdrawal pretty hard right now, so it's not a huge surprise, but still.) It looks like it made a lot of people overwhelmingly sad, which was exactly the opposite of what I expected... but at the same time, it seems to mean something special to a lot of people, which I'm so grateful for. Getting this much attention for any reason gives me the heebie-jeebies, but it's been very nice this time. Awesome, even.Snapey goodness: now with prizes!4 years ago in Personal More Like This

Thanks + Puppy pics Just wanted to thank everyone for all the kind words regarding my last journal. It really helped me to read them. I can't answer them all, and I'm still not very social after my beautiful senior dog passed away ( cant believe he's gone still. I just hate the whole life and death thing). Setting the cups down you slid one down to the Italian laying on the table who took it greedily, and you sat down.

Journal of an Artist 1I have the paper in front of me. I know how to draw her I just hope I can do it as it is in my mind. She has beautiful eyes. I'm not sure if they are blue or grey or a mix of them, but so clear like the sky in the second week of Spring. Anyways I'll just draw her.Journal of an Artist 12 years ago in Personal More Like This
Lovely blond hair. It means I don't have to work it much. I'll let the white of the paper to work for me. I just wanna focuse on her eyes, her well marked nose -lovely for sure- and her lips. What a volume!
I wish I could draw her directly but just a photo can make her model to me, so quiet but telling much through such eyes and expression.
I try to draw a portrait at day so grids will help me to get the resemblance easier. I've felt guilty some time for using grids for some drawings but it is nice when people care of the emotions they feel with the result.
I don't pretend to be a master, they were really amazing. I just draw cuz it comes natural, with grids, without, with model, without model, from mind, from memory, perfect
