Spike the "Hero"
The Crystal Empire was slowly becoming engulfed in a mass of threatening, black clouds; dark as the deadliest of storms. Screams could be heard all around as the crystal ponies began to panic. Up in the tallest tower in the city, Twilight found herself trapped within the confines of a black-crystal prison, the gems risen up from the ground, blocking any means of escape for the lavender unicorn. Just outside, Spike started to feel nervous. His eyes darted from side to side, his feet moved up and down like two, small pistons.
Twilight started to scramble within the crystal-walled trap, looking for the Crystal Heart with a set of panicked eyes.
"The heart? Where's the Crystal..." she started, voice q

Rose and the DoctorShe watched the man she had grown to love be surrounded with golden light. She had come back for him the way he did for her and he had left, been killed by the Master Gaston. His body rose and the light extended from his limbs for a few minutes before ceasing as he was somehow laid gently back to the stone floor. The rain had slowed to a drizzle, but Rose didn't notice. A new man was lying in his place. This new man had brown hair that spiked despite the rain and dark brown eyes instead of the soft blue eyes and big ears she was used to. He picked himself off the ground.
"Rose...it's me," he said, walking toward her.
She looked at him, not believing, and lifted a hand to touch the spikey hair. He looked like he was willing her to believe. Then something clicked, the light and wisdom behind his eyes were the same. "It is you," she said. She touched his face then lay her hands on his chest, above his two hearts.

Rose sighed deeply, rolling over again and curling into herself slightly. She stared blankly off into the darkness, her tired eyes fading somewhere in between open and closed, but she knew that she would not fall asleep. She had been trying for the last three hours.
It was not that she was not tired, or that she was not sleepy; she had had a long day - a long several days - and she was quiet ready to get some well earned rest. But she was still recovering from her recent run-in with a parallel world. Running her fingers through her hair, she rolled onto her back again, staring up at the dark ceiling. She could not stop thinking about him and worrying.
It was not just that she would never see him again, although that might have been part of it. It was not even that she wanted him back. She was scared for him. Mickey the idiot, trapped in a strange world, defending the earth. It was not that she doubted him, but she still worried.

CHAPTER 4: A Promise for Change
It was morning in the Royal Wing the next day as Percy and Penny stood in front of the stained glass window to meet their old friend Accord. He could not be seen anywhere but they knew very well where he was hiding. They looked directly at one stained glass window that showed an image of Accord. The window next to him, which was previously blank, was now filled with the still image of Celestia and Luna battling large slimy monsters on the edge of the shoreline. Accord was getting ready to tell one of his stories.
“Accord?” Penny asked, “Is that you?”
“Oh that’s gotta be him!” Percy said excited.
“Percy, Penny…” said his voice echoing through the room. “I’m glad you two are here…”
Suddenly a burst of light came from the stained glass window, and the image of Accord came to life.
“Have I got a story to tell you!” he told them happily.

There was silence, nothing but the sounds of crickets, the wind in the trees, and Spike's snoring as Twilight Sparkle lay in her bed, curled up with a book. Her eyes followed the words. Syllable by syllable, line by line, page by page. However, her mind did very little to process what her eyes were taking in.
Her thoughts were elsewhere. She could not stop worrying about Rainbow Dash, and what she had confessed earlier that day.
"A boy? A colt? How could anypony born a mare feel that way?" Twilight thought, trying to come up with anything at all to explain why her friend seemed so tormented.
She let out a heavy sigh, and closed her book, which by then was going completely unnoticed anyway.
It hurt, knowing such a dear friend was in so much pain. Even worse was the fact this friend had confided in her only to be met with absolute ignorance, and not a single thing to say which could have made her feel even slightly better.
She let out another sigh, to which a still unconscious Spik

The high winds whistling through hear rainbow mane, and robin's blue ears was enough to drown out the sound of her crying. As she blasted through the sky faster than anypony else ever could, she continued to pick apart every last one of her faults.
"Why am I like this? Why am I so weird? Why do I have to be different?"
She wanted to fight it. She wanted to force herself into being content with exactly the way she already was, because that's what any normal pony would do. As she continued to cry, her hooves trembling with both emotion, and the resistance of the atmosphere around her, she repeated a single phrase between her teeth.
"I am a mare. I am a mare. I am a mare."
Somehow, reinforcing the false truth made her feel a little better, more at ease. She touched down in front of Rarity's boutique. If she was going to be a mare, then she was going to act like one.
She stepped in, looking around a seemingly empty shop. She slowly hovered around, studying each piece with more atten

"Alright, everypony! Welcome to your first day here at Junior Speedsters Flight Camp. We've got a lot to learn over the next few weeks, so we'll need to move quickly."
Rainbow Dash could not have been more excited.
"All I have to do is out fly the other ponies here, and I'll be a Wonderbolt!" The little filly thought to herself while her fellow students mingled amongst each other.
Rainbow Dash eagerly hung onto her instructor's every word.
"Now, the first thing we'll need to do is assign each of you a cabin to stay in. To get started, I'll need everypony to split into two groups. Fillies on one side, and colts on the other."
The pipsqueak pegasus took her place with the rest of the boys, and patiently waited for further instruction. She was far too zoned in on her instructor to notice the ponies around her, who had begun to laugh and point in her direction.
"She thinks she's a colt!" one of the boys jeered.
"I wonder why she's not over here?" a filly whispered into the ear of an

CHAPTER 5: We Must Negotiate
The next few weeks started out rather well for Celestia and Luna in the educational center. They were kept busy and given all sorts of assignments and studies based on history and diplomacy. Their instructors were strict but fair and had much background knowledge on each subject. Most of them were alicorns who had been around for a while and thus had personally experienced some of these famous historical events, making them the best teachers the princesses could possibly ask for.
Every morning would start out with diplomacy lessons followed by history, all in addition to any other lessons they had had before like mathematics, science, and literature. Starswirl taught them magic lessons in the late afternoon as always, but felt he also needed to quiz them on diplomacy every now and then, to help out with their lessons to become monarchs one day.
“Now then, are both of you feeling up to the best of your ability in diplomacy?

Twilight was confused.
"A boy, Dash? I don't think I understand. You're a girl, Rainbow."
"No I'm not!" Dash exclaimed, standing back up with her chest puffed out.
She could feel her tears welling back up.
"Sure, I'm a girl on the outside, but haven't you ever noticed how different I am from the rest of you? I am not a girl, and I can't stand being treated like one!"
Twilight took a step back. "Rainbow I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you."
Rainbow Dash's face had once again become drenched, tears dripping off her chin as she screamed.
"You're sorry? Everypony treats me like a girl, and the first pony I tell different doesn't even understand!"
Dash lowered her head in disappointment. "Just forget I said anything. I'm out of here."
And with that, Rainbow blasted through Twilight's, thankfully open, window.
She didn't know what to do. How could Dash not feel "right" as a girl? She was a girl, wasn't she?
"This is so confusing!"

"Come on," she thought to herself. "You can do this."
Surely Twilight would understand. Surely she would be able to help. She could use magic better than anypony else in Ponyville.
"I can do this. I'm Rainbow Dash!"
"I'll just go in there, and tell her what's up."
Dash gulped down the lump in her throat.
"I know she can fix me."
"Okay Spike, are you sure you want to go through with this?" Twilight questioned, unsure of whether or not Spike's plan was a good idea.
"Of course Twilight! I'm just so short! That has to be why Rarity isn't interested."
"Spike, making yourself taller isn't going to make Rarity fall in love with you."
He stroked an imaginary goatee, lost in thought.
"You know, you're right! She's into fashion, right? Surely she wants a man with great style!"
Twilight sighed. "Spike, you're fine the way you are. Just go talk to h--"
She was interrupted by the sound of hooves clopping against her front door.

Twilight cleared her throat and began to read.
"The True Self Spell"
This spell is formulated to align a pony's physical being with that of the identity they hold to be most true in their heart. Each pony will notice changes specific to their own body, however there are correlations depending on a pony's gender and race.
Twilight stopped. "Hmm let me skip ahead to the part which best describes you, Dash."
A female pegasus wishing to transform herself into that of a male pegasus is likely to experience some, if not all, of the following changes:
-Increased Muscle Mass
-Slight Weight Redistribution
-Deepening of Voice
-Increased Facial Hair Growth
-More Masculine Facial Features
-Various Mood and Behavior Changes
She trailed off. "There's really a lot here."
Rainbow sat pondering over what she had just heard at the foot of Twilight Sparkle's bed. "Wait, so all of that is going to happen, and if I don't like I can

It all began with love.
After the dawn of time, alicorns and mortal ponies lived separate from one another. In the old age, the ponies of the earth below us started out as a very segregated race: greedy, unjust, hateful. The world as we knew it had turned evil and no longer reflected the land it was created to be. Sin was rampant everywhere and love was but a memory rarely spoken of. We alicorns, the immortal and wise race, were disgusted with what the world had become and made our domain in the heavens far above the sky. Granted, our race was not perfect either, but the land below us was shrouded in darkness and hate and we could not coexist with those beings.
The land grew colder, and snowier. The winter season one year did not stop. Spring did not come; instead, it continued to snow and freeze all around the ponies' domain. It was the windigoes, demon equine s

CHAPTER 13: Twins in Time (First draft. Final version in the works)
Berry Pie woke up in a panic and jumped to his feet. Cold sweat and rain ran down his body with light drips onto the wooden floor. Looking down at his twin sister sleeping safe and sound beside him, he relaxed his tense shoulders and breathed a sigh of relief. He had almost forgotten where they were until his mind fully adjusted to consciousness again. There were in the Apple farm treehouse.
How they had made it here, he couldn't remember, but at this point he didn't care as his sky-blue eyes scanned his slowly darkening surroundings. The room was full of crayon-drawn posters in a stack, a picture frame, and various other things. This did not look like the setup Berry knew as a colt or saw recently, reminding him what Bismarck said about how they had traveled back in time.
If there was any proof, the pictures and drawings of and by Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom in the room confirmed it. He approach

As Fluttershy conducted, the birds in the tree began to sing. The eloquence and rich harmony was perfect, with the exception of one aspect.
Fluttershy directed the group to stop for a moment, so she could have a word with one of the blue jays, who was still lost in his own little world, still singing the tune as best he could. He had been trying really hard, really, but he just wasn't getting it down.
Fluttershy flew over next to him, startling him a little.
"Um, excuse me, sir? Um, I don't mean to be rude or hurt your feelings or anything but, your rhythm is just a teeny tiny bit off."
He respectfully accepted her criticism, recognizing what he needed to change. He nodded in agreement, signaling he was ready to try again.
Fluttershy gracefully glided back down in front of the group, and raised her hooves, ready to start the tune over.
But, just as she was about to lead the procession in another round of singin

An analysis of why MLP: FiM is so popular
First let us start with a problem that has been occurring recently in the media, something I call the Animation Drought. In recent years the quality of animated shows in America has degraded, and by a great margin. Some of this can perhaps be traced to the fall from grace of Cartoon Network which had, among other things, killed Toonami, become reliant on re-runs, and has actually begun airing shows that are not cartoons. Another aspect is something that had been occurring long before this which was the failings of Disney with its string of mediocre sequels. Even the good shows still on have suffered in quality, such as Ben Ten, or alternatively, have been canceled altogether..
This has led to a pessimism about animation in America and so any news of a show of even decent quality is immediately jumped upon, this is not to say FiM is merely decent but let us be fair here, many people that now love the show would not have been caught dead even loo
Christian Persecution in the USAA lot of Christians seem to be fond of crying about the oppression they experience in American society. My first response is to laugh, but a lot of these people take themselves very seriously so I feel like I should give them a semi-serious answer to some of the claims I've heard. By "semi-serious", I mean I will include some facts but I will still have a deriding attitude. I can only try so hard. Now usually, I don't like formatting a question-answer session against an imaginary opponent since it seems unfair, but this isn't really an imaginary opponent. All of these statements or questions have been put to me before so, as far as I'm concerned, they are fair game.Christian Persecution in the USA2 years ago in Philosophical More Like This

The sleepy little alicorn princess did the best she could to keep her eyes open. In her vision was an orange sky with dark blue sky surrounding it. The rest of the sky was still darkened. The stars were behind them for the night was just about finished and morning was on its way. The ocean waves were crashing down every few seconds just yards away from her as the wind flowed through her bright pink mane.
To her right was a tall, grey, bearded alicorn stallion with his face to the east waiting patiently by her side. His flank bore the symbol of balance, his wings large and majestic although tucked at his sides, his black mane cut straight and short like that of a royal guard's helmet. His name was Accord. He showed no signs of weariness for he, the master of order and harmony, had been well prepared for this. But it was not his moment to prove himself. The dau
