#100) What prompted you to start your Brony Advice column? Also, you seem to get a wide range of questions concerning everything from personal relationship and social group issues, to commentaries on art and music, all surrounding the MLP fandom; do you ever find yourself surprised or caught off guard by the questions you receive, and do you ever have difficulty answering them?
Answer: I started this column with a simple dream: a dream of understanding brony thought-processes. I like to do my best to observe the fandom and draw from it what I can. A good way of doing this is via samples and case studies. Some excellent case studies are in the form of these questions; as the questions are being asked by bronies, generally, they are representative of what certain parts of the fandom are thinking. Even the most ridiculous questions are worth documenting: in twenty years time I can look back on this column and see exactly the kind of things that bronies were thinking at the t

#22) I'm having trouble sleeping. Do you have any advice for me?
Answer: I recommend giving quila111's OC Dream Cloud a call. Why? Because she's a puffy-haired sleep therapist, that's why! Also, y'know, because she has a really cute design and a nice, bright colour scheme. You can see how well-respected she is by the amount of fan-art there is of her, either via gift, commission or trade. I hear that she's a really kind and professional pony, as long as you catch her when she isn't sleeping on a cloud; if you catch her at a bad time then you'll have to wait a while, as I hear that she's a very deep sleeper.
But really, the OC is only half the package, because it's the creator of the pony, quila111 - Amanda - who has the expertise that you need. I've rarely met a friendlier person than her! She's one of those people who always seems to have a happy face on, and always tries to see the good in others. She's an optimistic influence and a positive presence, and I am sure that

#19) Someone on Tumblr has started a 'bad MLP OCs' thing where they're identifying bad OCs and putting them up. I'm scared my OC might end up on it. What should be done?
Answer: You can start by giving less of a fuck about some stupid Tumblr account. Do people really have nothing better to do than go around and point out OC designs that they think suck? It's really pathetic behaviour, especially when you consider that they're just doing it to make people feel bad while at the same time making themselves feel better by illustrating their obvious superiority complex. The owner of the blog better have a good OC in order to justify their criticisms, is all I'm sayin'.
You could go ahead and ask them to take it down, although I imagine that the sort of person who is running a 'bad MLP OCs' account on Tumblr isn't the kind of person who cares about offending others. You could also cross your fingers and hope that you don't end up on their account, if it bothers you that much

#28) Should bronies stop trying to convert the world? Stuff like the 'brony commercial' annoy me because it's as if bronies just won't shut up about what they like.
Answer: There are really two trains of thought in relation to bronies converting the world. Obviously, when someone likes a TV show, they enjoy getting other people to watch it. The show can be enjoyable, and so I would say that if you do like it, and if you have some friends who you think might like it too, you might want to encourage them to give it a shot. It doesn't hurt to try something out, and if they don't like the show, then that's fine. In that sense, making a small effort to get more people into the ponies seems harmless enough.
As for large-scale efforts, however, I do find them to be a bit in-your-face at times. Bronies are clearly proud of what they're doing, and thus a lot of them feel the need to make others experience their passion as well. The problem with this, of course, is that not everyon

#52) Why do bronies feel the need to create so many gay shippings? It's weird.
Answer: Bronies make lesbian shippings because the bulk of the cast of "Friendship is Magic" are female, and bronies like to pair characters up. The idea is in itself nothing new, but ponies do seem to take things to the next level.
"I'm an Apple-Dash fan!" one person cries.
"That sucks," says another. "Pinkie-Shy is best shipping!"
On the one hand it's relatively harmless if people are just pairing the characters up for shits and giggles. When it gets porn-y you have to wonder why people are so obsessed with making these ponies fuck each other. It's a given that people will ship characters, but that doesn't make it any more necessary or purposeful. I'll never forget one hilarious instance where a brony made a comment on a person's DA page who was a big supporter of Soarin and Rainbow Dash shipping. They said that their shipping idea was 'shit'. Curious, I checked out the attacker's page

#4) Pregnancy pony art-work annoys me! It's disgusting but I see it all over the place. Earlier today I saw a pregnant Rarity! What's up with that?
Answer: People have their own interests and fetishes. One of those might be an amorous attraction to/admiration for pregnant bellies: who knows what some people are into? Pregnancy is, obviously, a huge part of life and, in real-life, ponies do get pregnant. So you can't attack the artwork on the grounds that it's especially unnatural, as it's the reason why you're here, the reason why ponies in general exist, and it's why our species, and many others, will continue to live, and have lived, for thousands of years.
In terms of why people draw and like it, there appear to be two major crowds: the general interest crowd and the sexual crowd. The former may just be interested in the logistics of drawing a pony in a pregnant state; the larger proportions may challenge artists who like to be challenged, and it may help with c

#1) I fantasize about being in a relationship with Twilight Sparkle. I can't seem to stop myself. What should I do?~
Answer: While the behaviour is, of course, unusual, at least you realise that something is wrong, which means that you're halfway there to winning the battle. While it's healthy to develop certain bonds with characters from a TV show, there's obviously a point where reality and fantasy should remain separate. That point, it appears, seems to be when you start imagining yourself in a relationship with a pony.
While you're sure to face a degree of ridicule based on your confession, it's important to understand why you feel attracted to Twilight Sparkle. If it's the qualities that her character conveys, such as punctuality, hard-work and intelligence, then those are all fine traits that you perhaps wish to find in a real-life partner. Given the detailed characterisation of the ponies in "Friendship is Magic", it's not beyond the realms of comprehension that pe
