The Real Master Sword From Legend of Zelda? These swords were forged 5,000 years ago in what is today Turkey. Currently, they are the oldest swords to be discovered to date. The Aslantepe swords, as they have been called, are fascinating enough on their own, but what does this have to do with The Legend Zelda? If you take a look at the pictures, more than one sword has a Triforce on the hilt! The Real Master Sword From Legend of Zelda?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The most ancient swords ever found were forged 5,000 years ago in what is today Turkey, according to Italian archaeologists who announced the results of chemical analysis at a recent meeting in Florence.
Digging at Arslantepe, a site in the Taurus mountains of southeast Anatolia, Marcella Frangipane, professor at the department of historical science, archaeology and anthropology of antiquities of Rome University, found nine swords dating back to about 3,300 B.C. Blade and hilt were cast in one piece; moreover, three swords were beautifully inlaid with silver.

Sorry to bother you...Hello all,Sorry to bother you...1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I thought I'd take a moment today to write a journal which is probably long overdue. I believe there is a common misconception floating around that CVs are so busy, that when you send us DD Suggestions, or other messages, you are being a bother.
Quite regularly the DD Suggestions I receive start with something along the lines of "I am sorry to bother you..." or "I know you are busy but.."
I'd like to assure you all that no suggestions you send, or any other type of contact made with me (or any other CV for that matter) is something to feel sorry or bad about (unless you are legitimately harassing us or something).
I've often heard community members talk about how many notes CVs get daily (often this number appears to be near 100) and I feel the need to say that this is very far from the truth. On average I receive maybe 5 notes a day. On a slow day I may not get any at all and on a busy day I may get up to 10. While I can not speak

Mother's Day Sale May 4thBah! I started this journal a few hours ago, got sidetracked by my rats fighting, and then completely spaced that I never finished. I swear, these are the most dramatic, fighty rats I've ever had. Now all 3 of them are in their own cages for various reasons. Ugh! Now I have to find time to get all 3 out individually every day... cuz I totally have all sorts of time for that just lying around... why you gotta be so complicated, ratties?! Anyone in southern california want to adopt a single rat? The one I want to adopt out (a big fluffy blue dumbo) is really sweet to people, but plays badly with other rats. He is the drama causer, and needs to just be a single rat. Seriously, if anyone is interested, please message me for more info. I love each of my rats, but my time was already spread thin before this. • If you are writing a short story, does your story begin at the moment of maximum tension and end at the most aesthetically satisfying place?
• If you are writing a short story, is the conflict immediately clear? Does the conflict generate some essential change in the characters or their situations?
• For longer prose, how much explanation is in the beginning? Too much? Too little?
• Are your sentences of appropriate length - is there variety, or are there too many choppy/run-on sentences and if so do they serve a particular purpose?
• Have you clearly differentiated each of your main characters and their primary goals?
• Do they each have a personality of their own?
• Are all of your characters essential? Are there too many or too few?
• If your characters are named, are their names fitting and believable for the sto

Did you know? (Authors and writers read this!!)Hi guys!Did you know? (Authors and writers read this!!)11 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
I recently discovered something very interesting. As I didn't know this, I thought some of you might also not know this, thus it could be helpful (even life changing) to share this info.
Did you know that the key to selling your book successfully, you need to start with the marketing process of your book months in advance. The ideal is to start with this before even start writing the book, but it will still be effective if you start a few months before your manuscript is done. You need to have a battle plan about how you're going to sell your book, before you are finished writing it. Here's a few articles on this marketing strategy that might help you make the difference between selling a thousand books and zero.

FAQ Post!Hello, both old and new subscribers or lurkers!FAQ Post!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I don't get online a whole lot these days besides checking my facebook and occasionally uploading photos on here and tumblr. I used to be pretty hooked on DA between late High School and early College days, but it just became more difficult to keep up as my workload increased. I graduated college, but I now work a full-time job and just have evenings and weekends to relax and work on my hobbies. I do social networking for my job, so I'm generally not in the mood to do my own social networking when I go home. XD Cosplay is a wonderful hobby, but there have been times when it took a toll on my health. I am prone to anxiety and stress, and too much of it causes migraines or makes me sick. I've had to change a lot of things about my lifestyle; besides a lot of online inactivity, I stopped focusing on my personal Youtube channel, stopped competing in contests, stopped setting deadlines for costumes, started making less (but high
PE: Literature Basics SettingsLiterature Basics WeekPE: Literature Basics Settings9 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
Along with characters and plot, setting is one of the most important choices we make when we write. In the most basic terms, setting is where your literary work takes place. It's up to you, as the author, to use it and mold it to fit the needs of your writing, make it more than just a backdrop to your prose or poetry.
A good setting becomes like a character itself. It can be express moods, offer comfort or hindrance. The setting can even be the main antagonist - consider the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's The Shining, or the island in the 2000 Tom Hanks' film, Cast Away. In both of these examples, the protagonist(s) have to survive their surroundings, one mundane, the other ... less so.
Make Your Setting Work For You
Everything in your written work must be chosen for maximum effect. When deciding on your setting, decide what you want to accomplish with it. Here are some possibilities.
Anti-Vday Contest: Seeking Judges, Prizes, EntriesHello, my lovely people! Valentine's Day approaches, and in the spirit of not spending the day with someone special, and as a kind of sequel to last year's Valentine Hangover Flash Contest, I wanted to give you all an opportunity to take out your frustration on the holiday.Anti-Vday Contest: Seeking Judges, Prizes, Entries1 year ago in Personal More Like This

The theme is....
As the title might suggest, this is anti-Valentine themed. But what do I mean by that?I am looking for the opposite of Valentine's, for example
blue instead of red
hate/sadness instead of love
cold instead of warm
Feel free to come up with an anti-heart if you like! I'm looking for creativity here, people! Su
Why I ship Jack/ElsaI ship Jack/Elsa because not only does their relationship make thematic sense, it's believable and much more so than Jack Frost with Rapunzel. Jack and Elsa have sisters they would spend eternity alone for. Elsa would definitely learn to let loose with Jack around. She doesn't want to be left alone. She ran away because she had no other choice, because she wasn't understood, and because she didn't want to harm anyone with her powers. Unless you've been in their shoes before, how do you help someone the most? Enter Jack Frost, who can help Elsa realize the error of her ways by reminding her how to have fun again by being playful with her and Elsa retaliating by just being herself. Their personalities complement the other nicely so this works well without a flaw. It's a match made in Heaven. Jack is also older than Elsa by being immortal. Why I ship Jack/Elsa1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It's also said that they created the Polar Vortex of 2014.
