While listening a song by Billy Talent an idea came on my mind. So I grabbed a pencil and started to draw ^^ The song's name is "This Is How It Goes" and they sing there:
"...Take a look at what weīve become Nothing more than silhouettes of A pretty family on a postcard Picture Perfect I donīt want it!
So I hold my breath ītil my heart explodes Cause this is how it is and this is how it goes You can steal my body but you canīt steal my soul Cause this is how it is and this is how it goes..."
Anyway, hope you'll like it . Thank you for all your sweet comments and faves (if some).
P.S. The dress of the people should be from 2.half of 19.century. P.P.S. I'm curious if you'll find out what's quite strange about those people (and don't think about anatomy and shading, you know I give the fu*k about this stuff )
More Skinnymandria art. Some sort of box fort, I don't know, this kinda drew itself. From top left: Pachacuti, Alexander the Great, Dick Turpin, Cleopatra, Hephaestion, Charles II, Elagabalus, George III, Hierocles, Lee (Fashion Fix), Drostan (Fashion Fix), Francis I, George IV, William Wallace.
UPDATE - Drostan's missing moustache has now been added
"Manifestation/Emergence" refers to the mystery of being (in both a physical and spiritual sense) The symbol in the centre, the ankh is the symbol for life (and also means mirror/image) Some people think its a sandal strap, others think its the sun coming over the horizon, or that it represents a merging of Isis and Osiris. Anyway, the two serpents wrapped around it is meant to echo the cadeceus which symbolically openens up a whole new bag of worms! But basically it represents alchemy, plant entheogens, the DNA double helix and the kundalini energy. The serpents are morphing and manifesting and growing into matter. The shrooms growing off this Yggdrasil-esque tree represent consciousness forming a symbiotic relationship with matter.
I have included the Sephiroth, through which we experience manifestation, the cosmic egg, the ouroboros (cycle of death & rebirth), the symbol of infinity, the hexagram (the unity of polarities... if you look the pattern behind the ankh forms a hexagram and also a triangle with an eye at the top) as everything manifests through the union of opposites. There are many symbols that relate to the number 4 as this represents manifestation (3 dimensions + time). There is a skull, representing death (as it is part of the manifestation process), symbols representing the union of opposites, male, female etc. Yoni & Lingham symbols, semen, an ovum being fertilized, ohm, trinity....and more...
The female form at the top is Nu(i)t the sky goddess, whos body stretches out across the night sky and contains the stars. The bottom is Persephone/Gaia who is part of this cosmic madness, and through whos vulva we emerge!
