There was something so lovely about Paris in the evenings. Perhaps it was the soft summer's air, or the bustle of the cobbled streets below, or the lanterns that bounced and swayed on the backs of traveling buggies through the dark pathways. The sounds of dogs barking in the distance, the laughter of drunken men at the bar. Watching the bare footed commoners flock to their hovels and inns like low speaking sheep might have felt daunting to a man within those herds, but to one perched so high above them, it was like leisurely watching a school of fish drift along the Seine. It was relaxing.
“Louis! There you are.”

Fragmented Thoughts Chapter 29 (ReaderxLoki)You've been stomping around your room for hours. You refuse to come out. From the movies and real life scenarios, you know that if you go out there, everyone's going to be furious. You'll be a chew toy for a good few weeks. So childish, ugh. You hear loud, deep steps thumping down the hallway towards your location. You freeze in fear. There's more than one pair of steps. Oh god...they've come for you. You're gonna seriously get it now. You begin to cower onto your bed, fighting the panic. You'll just apologize, sob, and promise to never do it again. You just hope the punishment isn't...too painful...

The pilot's voice scratches over the speaker system in the back of the carrier. You look up, swallowing your nervousness, and pace around the belly of the plane again, your parachute bag hanging on your back like a turtle's shell.
"Nervous, greenhorn?" Steve jokes at you. He isn't smiling, which means he's trying to stay serious about the mission, but he still cracks a joke or two to lighten the tension.
"Only as much as I can be," you answer as truthfully as you can. You look to the others, who are all in thick felt and leather clothing, their entire bodies wrapped in thick layers of

A few hours felt like minutes when Kruger was asleep. The air become colder and the rain now turned into cold ice flakes. Snow covered their house's yard now, and from the wind, it looked like a blizzard was coming although this was the first snow in this year.
Kruger was woken up by the sound of swaying branches hitting the window, making a screeching noise. As he gathered his consciousness, he forced himself to get up out of bed and at to take a drink as his throat felt dry.
After taking just a few steps down the stairs, he smelt hot coffee coming from the porch. Ash, of course, was enjoying the blizzard outside the window in the

Louis' RevengeJames Hunter dragged his tired black boots up the wooden stairs. They creaked along with his sighs; every heavy step, every cloud of air that escaped his lips, every blink of his hooded eyes only said one thing : It had been a long day. Now, was a time for relaxing in his office, that overlooked the port where he proudly serviced the Royal Navy. Finally climbing the mountain that was the staircase, he tapped his door open and hobbled inside. His office? Dimly lit, but cozy. His desk? Trapped in an angry sea of papers and books, with the odd ink stain swimming in between. The large armchair behind him? Inviting. Fragmented Thoughts - Chapter 8 (Part 2) (Reader)You groan as you sit up, rubbing your eyes groggily. What the hell just happened...? Your mind feels like jelly, like a puddle of goo. Everything seems sluggish and heavy. You look around you, your eyes slowly focusing. You're in your room, tucked into your bed. The fan whirls quietly above you, and the sunset paints ribbons of gold and red light across the tan carpet. In the corner, Steve, in a plaid button-down and worn blue jeans, reads a novel with dismal interest.Fragmented Thoughts - Chapter 8 (Part 2) (Reader)11 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

"Gods..." you say. "Y-You're gods."
"Asgardians," Loki corrected. "Some might know of us as the Aesir."
"You're GODS."
"Yes."
"YOU. ARE. GODS."
"Stop repeating yourself," Loki sighed. "Yes, we're gods. We cannot die."
"I find that hard to believe," you say shakily.
"Do you?" Loki looked at you, his eyes - those cat-like eyes, a dance of bright green and sky blue - bear down on you as if you're a fugitive. You take a step back.
"Enough," Steve says as he steps in beside you. "Loki, give her a break. Not everyone knows you exist."

"I'm what?" you exclaim. You laugh and try to pretend they were joking. "This is all a hallucination, isn't it? You're just messing with me, right?"
"Not at all," Banner says solemnly. "This is all real, I'm afraid."
You stand there, silent. Disbelief keeps you in place. Superhuman...? Do those kind of people actually exist..?
"...So, I'm a freak," you say finally. "I'm like those guys at the school in Westchester. Those mutants."
"Not exactly," Tony interrupts. "As far as we can tell, your powers don't come from your genetic code. Theirs does."
"Then where does it come from?" you shout

Three Thousand and OneI'm selfish, you know;Three Thousand and One3 weeks ago in Free Verse More Like This
Even if you asked me, I wouldn't
Give any of those happy little lies back, and even
If you told me not to
I'd keep all the bits you left behind
In a shoebox under the bed. Because
To remember something from far,
Far away or the bottom of my skull
Is better than remembering nothing at all.
You're freckled with lovely things-
A splattering of a night's stars and one
Million comets- and I'm
Caught in a sea of forget-me-nots between
Two of your ribs. You're too vast
For a ragdoll like me; I had once
Been a candle that knew naught of burning or
Those fires you spoke about so often. And
Now I hate
Myself for not saving any of my wick
For the comet man.
I'll promise I'm not used up, as
If it would make it true again. And you'd
Tell me I'm not wounded anymore
Because your optimism's an illusion
And you don't want me
To out-grow you and all those
Pretty things we said about the horrible sky
And the spaces between our fingers.
But you won't recognize me one day
And I can f

"...A blue cat?" you say, confused. Banner shakes his head, scribbling down on his notepad. "Not even close...Something is preventing you from using your telepathy willingly."
"You mean besides a headache?" you throw in. Banner doesn't say anything, just smiles. You both are in the lab, Banner trying to help you 'develop' your new mind-reading talent. You still felt awkward and rude, invading the minds of others, but Banner assured you he was alright with you reading his mind.

With an eerie suspicion of Loki's intentions still on your mind, you follow the Black Widow to the gym. You never thought you would need exercise, so you kept away from those floors of the tower for the most part. Now that you and the rest of the team are walking through, you're surprised you haven't yet. The place is incredible. Weight rooms that extend for what seems miles, a giant indoor pool, a row of the most high-tech treadmills you have ever seen, a gymnastics arena, and so many other things you can't figure out the point to, but it's the

Fragmented Thoughts Chapter 14 (ReaderxLoki)You finally reach the top of the escalator (man, you feel lazy, just using the escalator) and look around. The second floor is easily thirty feet above the first floor, a round circle that wraps the exterior of the rotunda with an outdoor balcony in four directional areas. A bar sits to your left, where you spot Thor and Banner drinking some shots and laughing. You suppose you're too young to walk over, and besides, you had seen both of them drunk before. In a few minutes, you figure either one of them - or both - would get boisterous and loud for you to see them a mile away. You'll see them then. Fragmented Thoughts Chapter 16 (ReaderxLoki)You haven't seen Loki since the awkward situation on the plane after the mission. The rest of the team have acted like this is normal for the god to randomly disappear and never show up. Thor has been the only one to really look for the other god, and sometimes, Thor would return from Loki's room with a frustrated and stressed expression on his face. You always wanted to find him, to apologize, but every time you pass through the hallway and walk to his door, a void of dark, foreboding energy pushes you away, and you're too scared to enter.Fragmented Thoughts Chapter 16 (ReaderxLoki)8 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

The Sea of DeathThe Sea of Death:The Sea of Death1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
We weathered the dreaded maelstrom,
As the sea displayed her rage.
She danced like a fevered puppet,
Upon her deadly stage...
Within her swirling currents,
My men were cast aside.
Drawn into her hungry maw,
It was then and there they died.
Never had I seen such a thing,
It spoke of darkness before my eyes,
A serpent rose from the watery depths,
As lightning boiled from the skies.
It's screaming call was as a banshee's wail,
It stole the life from our shrieking lips,
Like the chilling touch of death itself,
We fell like slaves before the whips...
Darkness came and darkness went,
My eyes opened to the morning
