Honour Amongst Thieves ... Podcast?Let it never be said that Sak doesn't deliver!
Last Sunday I had a Skype meeting with Brendan Julian and Richard Johnston - the voices of Louis and James respectively from my upcoming animation - to discuss the finer points of Honour Amongst Thieves. As promised, I managed to record it and so without further ado, I present to you:
Honour Amongst Thieves
I was delighted to see the two of them got along so well, because their character interaction promises to be great this way. Unfortunately, Santiago's VA was unable to make it due to timezones, but perhaps sometime in future we'll be able to repeat this again plus one Spaniard!
Shisha Pipes at Three A.M. ...There's nothing quite like sitting back on pillows in a dim room with painted murals and UV lights discussing the problems of the world and how we can change the future for the better through the aromatic smoke of several shisha pipes with complete strangers. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone.Shisha Pipes at Three A.M. ...4 months ago in Personal More Like This
I feel like I can change the world. Maybe not in big ways, but in small, baby steps. I want to finish this animation, I want to get my message out. I want to make a graphic novel that underlines current issues through the eyes of my characters; I want to make a difference. I feel justified in knowing I'm not the only one who thinks like this.
I want to change the world.
... Damn, this sounded so much better in my head at 3a.m. in the cafe toilets when I thought of it.

It's sound-effect-less, music-less, and not cleaned up at all, but I will be uploading each scene as I complete them so that the voice actors can see how their work is coming together. Perhaps it's also interesting for people interested in some of the processes of animation, as well.
Showreel 2012-2013Hey folks,Showreel 2012-20133 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've just uploaded a new showreel showcasing some of the better Honour Amongst Thieves work and progression to my Youtube account, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYcI_6mu9FM&feature=youtu.be I've been sick all week so progress on the actual animation has been slow, but you can get a sneak-peek of Louis's scene there.

For those asking, I'm animating directly into the computer using a Wacom tablet. The animation program I'm using is TVPaint Animation 10 Pro. Super expensive so I use the school computers, but it's like the illegitimate love-child between Photoshop and Adobe After Effects without Flash's niggling tendencies to crash every ten minutes. That program is sex. <3
Animation Progress ....So I've finally begun in-betweening James's introduction sequence ...Animation Progress ....4 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's consisted of hours of listening to him scream "Oh BLOODY HELL" and "DAMN IT!" into my ear.
Animation SituationI've been rushing at breakneck speeds to finish my animation in time for the official submission deadline tomorrow ... or, today, by now actually. However, there are still little fixes I want to make to Santiago's introduction scenes, as well as some revisions to the "finished" sequences with Louis and James, so I'm holding back on uploading the clips to Youtube.Animation Situation3 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
Until then, have some progress shots!

Okay, no, on a more serious note: I've just had to re-draw the last two days' worth of frames and in-betweens for Louis because I realized I'd been drawing him "wrong".
Throughout Louis's character progress he's undergone several changes, most based on my own personal decisions, but many were also due to feedback from you guys here on DA, and I realise now that the "Louis is too skinny I don't like it" comments got to me more than they should have.
What these people don't realize is that Louis is ridiculously tall and skinny on purpose: he's a cartoon. He's not meant to be realistic, he's meant to be an exaggeration of the flamboyant gay stereotype, the skinny French stereotype, and his design reflects his wiles and cunning when it comes to out-witting his opponents. About My School?I frequently get questions about LASALLE College of the Arts, where I study. Unfortunately I don't have time to go into tremendous detail when answering them, as much as I'd like to explain more what it's like. Concerning Latest Update + Tribute Videos!Okay a few things I need to say because I feel like repeating this in the comments is doing nothingConcerning Latest Update + Tribute Videos!2 months ago in Personal More Like This
IT'S OKAY TO BE SAD OVER A CHARACTER DEATH. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT THE REASON SOMEONE DIES IN MY COMIC IS BECAUSE THEY HAD FAINTED INGAME. BY THE RULES OF NUZLOCKE, FAINT EQUALS DEATH.
Seriously, I even posted my godamn battle notes in the video for comparision. It was not me purposely trying to kill off a character out of drama. It did happen and I am drawing a COMIC BASED OFF OF MY OWN GAMEPLAY. The reason it looks that way is because I was able to build his character up for over a year so you guys get attached to my characters. I wanted you guys to like them or at least know about them before some of them got killed ingame.
FYI, MORE DEATHS ARE COMING IN THIS COMIC. I cannot assure whether this will be right away or later, but KNOW of it. It's a godamn nuzlocke. As I said before, it is okay if you were legitimately sad about this. I'm sorry it had to go that way bu
For the Love of Ib So I have fallen in love with a horror game and that game is Ib (actually pronouced as "Eve" but try telling that to my mind). Beautiful in its simplicity of game play and amazing story-line, it is a definite must play. And it seems my admiration is not only limited to myself, as you will see the many spectacular artists inspired by this game! For the Love of Ib6 months ago in Fan Art More Like This
Some Information about the game
IB is a freeware horror game developed through the use of RpgMaker 2000/2003 by kouri and translated by VGperson.
The story revolves around Ib, a nine-year-old girl who visits an art museum with her parents. She looks around the museum on her own, and the lights suddenly began to flicker. She realizes that all the people have suddenly vanished without a trace. Ib soon discovers the mysteries of the museum, and the dangers that inhabit it. Source: http://rpgmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Ib

ADAM LAMBERT LIVE IN SINGAPOREI pride myself on being an "old soul" when it comes to music taste. As a kid I was raised on classical greats like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and the list goes on by my dad. My mom weaned my sister and I on goldies like ABBA, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, and Boney M. I listen to copious amounts of 70s and 80s bands that make me look like a bit of a dweeb to my classmates, ranging anywhere from Alice Cooper, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Joan Jett through to Adam Ant and Dead or Alive. As a result, I'm heavily biased against what I call the "mainstream crap on MTV".ADAM LAMBERT LIVE IN SINGAPORE3 months ago in Personal More Like This
But just give me this one thing. Just this one.
Because I am a complete and total Glambert.
When I found out Adam Lambert was coming to Singapore March 8th I was both excited and conflicted, because I had already bought tickets to see Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin) live on the 21st this month as well. But I'm glad I caved into my te

What would you like to know about storytelling?Greetings! What would you like to know about storytelling?2 months ago in Personal More Like This
I was just inspired by the wonderful Esha, a fantastic merchant from RuntimeDNA, to ask you folks over here a question.
I'm currently rendering out presentation frames for my online seminar, "Telling Stories with Poser", that I'll be giving on Sunday, March 24th, as part of this weekend's Poser Expo: Runtime Live event. So far I've got a ton of notes and a lot of information covered, but it occurs to me that there's still a chance that I'm not answering the questions that -you- want asked.
So, what would -you- like to know about stroytelling with Poser? Lighting? Camera angles? Composition? Backgrounds? Where to start??
This is one presentation that could -definitely- go on for multiple slots, there's so much information to cover, but it doesn't mean anything if the important things y'all need to know -aren't- a

Disgusting behavior by a business that should know better.
Clients ripping of artists is bad enough, but artists ripping off artists is rock bottom, unforgiveable.
World's first 3D drawing pen!I came across this http://www.the3doodler.com/ in an architecture forum originally (because of my work) It'd be interesting to see the possibilities with this nifty tool… Imagine literally doodling out a sculpture anytime, anywhere! Or in the case of architects and designers, draw out a basic 3D model of your building or object and present it to the client without spending hours and thousands of $$$$ on 3D modeling services!World's first 3D drawing pen!3 months ago in Personal More Like This

Competition for Journal Skin Experts! So, I was thinking of arranging a little competition for those interested! Particularly those who are good at making Journal Skins -Competition for Journal Skin Experts!3 months ago in Personal More Like This
I'm looking for an original journal skin I could use on my profile reflecting the fanfiction that I write (mainly mass effect with a Kaidan/romance). As a prize for the winner I would be willing to give:
* 1 year deviant membership
* Credit on the skin every time I use it
(Which is fairly regularly)
* Priority on any other future commissions
for skins from me
* Two runners-up will recieve 200 points each
If you are interested and want to give it a bash then simply create your skin and send me a link - I will then keep them in a nice little favourites folder until the end of the competition where I will enlist the help of three independent judges to help me choose a winner!
So details, details...
Well, the skin has to be Mass Effect themed (for those of you unfamiliar it is an Xbox360 game for which I w
