SMF is a series on Youtube created by ''Insurd'' which currently has 10 episodes, (In fact, Episode 10 was released 3 days after drawing this!! How crazy's that? owo) voicing many Mario figurines that he edits to make them look like their alive! It's like Mario combined with South Park, with LOTS of coarse language... Other characters included, besides the four above, include Wario, Donkey Kong, a Goomba, Toadette and Shy Guy... XD
All characters have hilarious new personalities. Mario himself is quite... different... in this series X3
Luigi - Quiet, polite and of course, shy~ He can't stick up for himself and he's generally pretty sad. I LOVE how he turned out here.
Mario - Rude, grumpy, aggressive and ill mannered. He rarely smiles in this series at all! And he swears a LOT. More or less the Eric Cartman of the series. You'd never think MARIO would have ANY of these qualities! But ya gotta admit, he's pretty cute when he's mad C:
Yoshi - Nice, innocent and friendly. All he can say is his name. He's a bit like Kenny McCormick in the series, except he isn't constantly dying... Cx
Toad - Crazy, wild, immature, hyper and stupid. He's absolutely NUTS in Fables... oh, and he's got an EXTREMELY dirty mind... You'll never look at Toad the same way again!
If you've never seen any episodes, here's the playlist [link] Make sure you're alone! So much swearing... XD But it's still great for lolz
This pic's easily one of my faves, I'm really happy with everybody and the colourful lineart was fun to make~
Hope you like!

I'm not entirely sure how the idea entered my head, but I remember thinking about the Mario Bros. movie that came out back in the 90's and thinking, "y'know what, it was pretty bad, but at least they got the costumes right!" But then I got to looking into it and, well... they were close, I guess. Then I got to wondering what it would look like if the "real" Mario bros. had those outfits on, and here we are. The shoes gave the most trouble, since it's actually pretty tricky to find decent reference pictures of them.
I decided to keep Luigi's moustache, since I don't think he'd look right without it. I also decided to keep the gloves, even though they don't have them in the movie, simply because I'm not sure what their hands should look like without them. I actually had the linework for this finished with Mario and Luigi and I got to talking to some people about the concept and I realized I wanted to try drawing some more characters in the film style, especially Toad. Well, actually, I wanted to do a goomba, but I was having a hell of a time thinking of how to draw the limbless goombas wearing a suit, until I remembered that Toad got turned into a goomba in the film, so that really simplified things. I decided to go with a yellow yoshi, since the one int he movie was basically a light orange.
