Concours Super Heros/ Super Zero: +15 joursMesdemoiselles, mesdames, messieurs ;Concours Super Heros/ Super Zero: +15 jours2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This

New Speed Painting Video!Hey hey!New Speed Painting Video!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've received a bunch of requests for a full walk-through for my painting process and finally got around to cranking one out!
Here's the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdMWUMhn0ps&list=UURGCX-Q0lXCv59lRRO--6gQ&index=1&featurelcp !
I didn't want to just post a video of sped up footage, so I tried interjecting breaks of me explaining all techniques I used during the process.
I hope this helps!
PS: Sorry about some of the weird music editing... first time editing with this program heheh.

JACKSON POLLOCK: Champion of the New Art
My Jackson Pollock Nine by DarkLinkFire
Just as Dada and surrealism had been the art world’s mocking response to the world’s failed progressive pretensions in response to the anti-human horror of World War I, the art movement that blew up in the wake of World War II’s repeat performance was “abstract expressionism.”

Violence in Brazil (video)Yesterday we had another protest in my city, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil.Violence in Brazil (video)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The police attacked innocent people who kept yelling "NO VIOLENCE" and "You there, soldiers, you are also explored"... we sat on the ground under the rain and cold in a demonstration of peace, but even so they threw Tear Gas and rubber bullets against people who weren't doing anything wrong. I was there. So people ran in fear, trying not to fall nor to be smashed by a hundred feet... A mass in panic. But the more they pushed us back, more angry we felt.
This videos cannot show the real chaos that was yesterday, only a small part of it. Those footages are from manifestants, 'cause the media won't show what really happened.
There's no turning back. We won't stop now.
got an email from Penguin Publishers!...and I just gave them information about the book. Guys, this whole publication dream might actually come true! Thank you so, so much to all of you who have stuck with me from the beginning, and to all of you who have just started following me. I love and adore every single one of you and will make sure you each get a copy of Paper Stars if it gets published, because you're the reason I've made it this far. I can't even begin to explain how much support you all have given me when I've felt useless or untalented or insignificant: you, my watchers, my friends, have been with me and believed in me even when I'm at my lowest, and I cannot put to words the extent of my gratitude. From commenting on every single one of my pieces to simply clicking the "watch" or "favorite" button, you have given me the confidence and drive to pursue my dreams despite my anxiety and fear, and I could never ask for anything more wonderful. Thank you.got an email from Penguin Publishers!2 years ago in Personal More Like This

My favorite ART suppliesI get asked a lot what pens and pencils I use. So I thought I'd post an updated list of my favorites. I'm a big fan of trying new things, I'm always buying lots of different pens to try out and in my search for the best tools to use for creating comics Ive found these to work the best for my needs. My favorite ART supplies3 years ago in Personal More Like This
My number one question that others ask me is "What do you ink with?"
I use Kuretake brush pens. Here's a link to a sable hair brush pen that I love, it's the closest thing to a real brush I've used. It is pricey though. http://www.jetpens.com/Kuretake-No.-40-Fountain-Hair-Brush-Pen-Sable-Hair-Refill/pd/3958
The less expensive version is the synthetic hair, http://www.jetpens.com/Kuretake-No.-13-Fountain-Hair-Brush-Pen-Red-Body/pd/2661 this brush pen is similar to a Pentel brush pen. http://www.jetpens.com/Pentel-Pocket-Brush-Pen-for-Calligraphy/pd/1793
The cool thing about these Kuretake brush pens is the refill cartridges have nice ink in them that I use, but if you find you don't like the

It's not a birthday without RAAAMBLES.Heeeey folks. It's not a birthday without RAAAMBLES.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Firstly, thanks for all the birthday well-wishing. Veritable.. mountains of well-wishing. Though I'd be just as content postponing my birthday until next year. And then maybe the year after that, and after that..
A year older and a year wiser. Well, the latter is debatable. But definitely a year older! This year has been a wild, satisfying, disappointing, exciting one. It marks my first total year as a freelancer, which has been simultaneously one of the most liberating and terrifying career leaps I've ever made. Thankfully, the studio I've ended up working with for the entire year has been a very welcoming one. The workload can be immense, but outside of being paid, there are few rewards greater than seeing your work animated in a game after toiling on it for hours. Getting to visit Barcelona was another fantastic perk.
I really can't complain at all about work, this year. I've worked with the guys from Wayforward, Vigil, did a bit of here-and-there for my old stu
The AvengersYou know that giddy, gleeful feeling that renders you incapable of doing little more than giggle like a lunatic? The Avengers3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I pretty much had that from start to finish during the Avengers film (Which was released on Fair Blighty's shores as "Avengers Assemble" thanks to the past efforts of Steed and Peel).
There have only been a handful of movies that invoked that kind of response in me: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Abram's Star Trek, Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and the first Iron Man film are those which immediately spring to mind.
Indeed; Avengers is THE best Marvel movie since Iron Man. Ace cast, brilliant story, hysterical script, a scene that will stab anyone that's followed the films leading up to this point right through the heart and a fair few more surprises.
Chief among them being; how the hell did the Hulk become such a f**king awesome character after so many naff films?
I'm gonna go see this one again!

SORRY IT'S TAKING SO LONG!! USPS raised their rates for people outside the US and I have to make sure I have shipping for everyone in one action. Thank you everyone for your patience. I love you all. (it's true)
I wasn't able to get rid of these books as easily as I was thinking...so I still have them.
I'm running low on the couples books but I still have plenty of the rest.
I'm open back up and would really like to sell them all. Please! 8D
They're super useful and I really want to see people use them. So stop by the store!
The USPS did away with surface to air shipping overseas. That means I, unfortunately, have to charge an additional $40+ to anyone outside of the US (except for Canada, I think). So be aware of that.
How is everyone doing, btw? ...school started and everything else!

The Deviousness Award for May 2013 goes to AnaNaszynska.
Hello! I'm Ana! I'm 23 years old and I was born in the Republic of Moldova, which, at the time, was a place in the USSR. Besides my Romanian roots, part of my great-grandparents were Polish and Ukrainian, so you could say that I'm a product of a Eastern-European melting pot!
Nowadays I live and study in France.
I joined deviantART in summer 2006. I was 16 and curious about everything, so I quickly discovered the Chats and I got addicted to dA ever since! In March 2008 I was invited to join the Official Helpers t

Wacom Horror Warning peopleI realized i just been living in a lie. Been coloring with the wrong icc profile for almost 6 years. Its because all this time i had a secondary monitor like 8 years old that ive never notice it. I just bought recently a cheap and amazing monitor 23 inches aoc, and noticed that my cintiq tablet colors looked washed away.Wacom Horror Warning people3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I asked myself why all my drawings in deviant art dont look like in my cintiq, they look washed away or burned.
Because of two problems.
I have all my files in adobe 1998 icc, which its good for printing but not web browsing, but the most horrible one, its that the cintiq21ux.icc that came in my cd was really wrong. Got the correct one in a wacom europe page, my cintiq its first generation, so new drivers sucked hard doesnt work.
Also warning for those that have same old cintiq like me, new drivers screw up the pen, cuts the pressure in half or gives weird pressure to it-, and worst ive been coloring with pen pressure wrong and color really bad.
I had been coloring bli
