We Are/You Aren'tWe are the unwanted, the broken
The ones you forgot about.
So don't be too surprised when we
Start to scream and shout.
We are the living, the dying
The ones you all put down.
But you'll know who we are when we
Run this goddamn town.
We are the corpses, the maggots
The ones you all despise.
But you'll be the ones scared when we
Expose all your lies.
We are the hunted, the lost
The ones you all spurn.
But you'll cry for our help when we
Leave you all to burn.
We are the losers, the winners
The ones that you deny.
But you'll be the ones damned when we
Hear the angels cry.

Why I Think Self Harm Awareness Day is BULLSHITIn case you didn't know, today (Friday the first of March) is Self Harm Awareness Day. And, in case you didn't pick it up from my journal's title, it is pissing me off beyond belief. Why I Think Self Harm Awareness Day is BULLSHIT2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Why is it doing this?
Well, it's no secret on here that I cut myself. So, as a self-harmer, I find today both extremely offensive and, more importantly, triggering. The most I've seen of it today is people posting photographs of their cuts (something that I feel is never acceptable and would only ever be done for attention) and non-cutters posting patronizing bullshit about how we must 'stay strong' or 'keep fighting'.
Newsflash, dickwads, we're cutters; not fucking retards who need your help to cross the fucking street. We are not charity cases, we are not idiots and we most certainly do not want damn sympathy from do-gooders who would probably be the first to condemn someone if they saw them cutting.
If you want my opinion, today is not about self harm awareness, but rather sympathy,
Advice for ArtistsNot too often, but at least once a month, I spend some time in the forums. I noticed that a popular topic was 'how to become popular on dA' (no pun intended). Here are some suggestions from my end of the spectrum. More on how to become a better artist in general and promote your art more efficiently (but I guess those are the key steps in becoming popular on dA, heh).Advice for Artists2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Post your art in as many places as you can
After posting a deviation, dA makes it easy to post it to other sites. Make an account on pinterest, tumblr, etc. Don't worry if you can't tend to it much, the point is you want your art in as many places as possible. This heightens the chance of people seeing your art, some of these users might even be on dA, as well.
Other suggestions are instagram, artician.
2. Focus on what you're good at
While it's fun to dabble in different mediums, the more mediums you work with, the less time you are spending "mastering" any one of them. I'd say 2

Anne Frank would have been a BelieberFirst off, I wanna say–I read the Diary of Anne Frank. It was a required historical book in my school. Now, I don't know if any other schools had it as required literature, but it was on the list.Anne Frank would have been a Belieber2 years ago in Personal More Like This
One of the reasons why–my history and English teacher was Jewish.
And so was I, so I wanted to learn more about the Holocaust and what happened.
Luckily my Jewish family never suffered through the Holocaust, they were already in this country by the time Hitler did his douchbaggery upon Europe. However, my family were survivors of the Russian pogroms in the early 20th century.
Ever seen Fiddler on the Roof? Yeah...that actually happened to a few of my ancestors. And no, we didn't sing about it.
So, coming from that history, I know what being oppressed means. I know that being oppressed because you think differently, you act differently, or you worship a different way–or even a different god (gods), it does create drama and criticism upon other people. Some people may not like what I
A public service announcementDuring the years of the George W. Bush administration a new modus operandi was forged for the GOP through both actions and (even on a couple of occasions) direct statements: "Facts are irrelevant." Since the 2008 election many of the loudest voices in the the GOP (and their media cheerleaders) have pursued that approach with gusto. Perhaps their greatest monument to that practice has been in characterizing the Affordable Care Act ("ACA" aka "Obamacare"). The result has been a confused citizenry that is uncertain whether lies, repeated after being dis-proven, must somehow be true. That can be seen in many of the recent man on the street interviews and polls that have gone viral – perhaps the most telling among them are the ones asking people the ignorance-revealing question if they like "the Affordable Care Act" better than "Obamacare".A public service announcement1 year ago in Personal More Like This

"It's just an excuse to get out of doing things that other people have to" -- I'd love to do thing other people are doing, and I'd relish in being happy when I do so.
"You're just a little sad, you'll get over it" -- Depression isn't just 'feeling sad sometimes'... it's feeling sad ALL the time for what seems like no reason at all.
"Just grow up! Everyone is depressed, you just have to deal with it like everyone else!" -- Stop using everyone else to justify your insensitivity to other people's conditions (also, most of the people suffering from depression are adults, you don't get much more 'grown up' than adult).
"You're not suffering from anything, you're just lazy, ungrateful, and being silly" -- Ok, because obviously I LOVE feeling miserable, worthless, and stupid all the time...who wouldn't...?
"Stop using that as an excuse to not do anything." -- If I could manage to do something a

Ten things I want my mom to know about selfharmMy mom found out that I cut after seeing the scars on my thigh while on vacation. Damn shorts....It's funny how I have scars and burns on my arm but she didn't think THAT was self harm, But Whatever. Here's a list of shit I want her to know about. 10) This is not a fashion statement or a way to be cool. It's not a fad.
I hate when people say this. I'm not doing it to fit in anywhere, how many popular kids do you know are cutters? Why would I want to fit in with people who are seen as stupid and lame? Why would I put an unnecessary label on myself in high school? Anyone who cuts to be in the "cool" crowd or does it just to be seen as a "true" goth needs to be slapped hard. It's also not some fad like silly bands or I<3 boobies bracelets. This in not some trade-able scars that are done for shits and giggles, It's serious. Anyone who thinks other wise gives ev

The Weight Of The WorldSome circle the Earth in a haze,The Weight Of The World2 years ago in Personal More Like This
while others are attentive.
some with goodness in hearts,
and others hold no purpose.
We walk among the writhing,
as they stand with wringing hands.
Such heavy burden holds
strong invitation, with no r.s.v.p. in hand.
Others who walk in faith,
are able to conquer the wicked in the world.
Hit and miss are two words,
that desperately want to know each other.
Evil takes its ugly shot upon the world.
We are of many targets.
Some soldiers that walk in faith,
these are the ones with goodness in
hearts and minds, attentive, and full of purpose.
They help to lift the weight of the world.
God bless and strengthen the hearts of all the families during this tragic time.
The Matter of the MassesI've been painting for a few years now, but I feel like I'm only beginning to grasp the importance of this concept. I'll quote Robert Henri (1865-1929) from his book, The Art Spirit, which is packed full of such profound wisdom. The Matter of the Masses1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Robert Henri stresses this point:
"Insist on the beauty of form and color to be obtained from the composition of the largest masses, the four or five large masses which cover your canvas. Let these above all things have fine shapes, have fine colors. Let them be as meaningful of your subject as they possibly can be. It is wonderful how much real finish can be obtained through them, how much of gesture and modeling can be obtained through their contours, what satisfactions can be obtained from the fine measures in area, color and value. Most students and most painters in fact rush over this; they are in a hurry to get on to other matters, minor matters."
"The beauty of the larger mass is primary

I am usually a cool motherfucker, but I currently find myself in the depths of irritation. It seems every time one noticeably advances their skills, there's a brief period of doubt to follow. Out come the ignorant half-wits that seem to believe if they can't do something, then it's impossible for anyone else to have done it.. I've been a target in the past, and it's happening again.
When I first made the decision to become exclusive to pin-up and erotica, I prepared for conflict. I assured myself I was still a decent human being, and nothing anyone ever said would ever make me feel otherwise.. I am not a pervert. I do not have an unhealthy view upon women. I am not a sexist... I was prepared to respond to all such accusations professionally and maturely.
What I was not prepared for, however, was doubters. It never once crossed my mind that anyone might assume I wasn't actually painting these myself. That they'd

How to stay MotivatedHow to stay Motivated. How to stay Motivated9 months ago in Personal More Like This
I’m writing this article for the type of people who say that just can’t find motivation to:
Make a portfolio
Finish a painting
Work on their personal project
I got three tips I’m about to write, and it’s just advice and things that I found useful for myself. If you are capable to do any of these things you should definitely try them.
Fear. Get rid of it. If you are fearful of the outcome it will unmotivate you immediately. Just finish whatever it is and think about how you can improve after. If you can’t see what you need to improve ask someone else to tell you. There is always room to improve, and if you go into a critique with an open mind you will grow exponentially.
Think of it like this. If you were running one lap, and half way through you stopped because you were afraid you were going to throw up or pass out, you will never really know how fast you can run that lap. You didn’t push yours
Down, Down, DownDown, down, down,Down, Down, Down2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I fall slowly down the endless pit.
Memories from my childhood race past me,
Disappearing as I reached out for them.
Down, down, down,
That's all that ever happens now.
My memories have vanished like dust in the wind
And the wind echoes loudly in my ears now.
Down, down, down,
I give up on ever reaching the bottom now.
The wind has long stopped echoing its wails,
Allowing silence to take dominance over my descent down.
Down, down, down,
The descent's end seems impossibly close now.
I relax into the welcomed embrace of the Guardian of Souls,
The warm embrace of the lovely figure called Death.
The long awaited end finally appears for me.
I smile at the blackened sky as I stared up with empty eyes.
I was finally free from waiting,
I had finally reached the end.

i don't have a program yet, but i'm looking for a free rpg maker (not a "free" version of the popular one) that is near complete ;u;
so if you found one that works well or have any tutorials/anything useful s please post them in this journal!
i don't think i'll need help currently, i'll probably be doing all of the art and stuff in the game
i will though need music, but i'll deal with that later
so anyways the game will be about this planet what is actually a giant pearl, and all the buildings are carved out of it and its inside this giant clam shell made of stained glass
the people there are also made of pearls (not the same pearl as the planet), and there isn't any plants/food/regular people/animals/aliens there because there isn't need it, but there is water mainly so the people can take baths
the only "living" creatures are these special kind of oyster that the pearl people use to make more people
the society there is perfectly functioning, there is the working

and you're a waste of space, it's just impossible to hold
a conversation with you these days,
let it go, just fucking drop it,
keep your mouth shut unless i say
i think i froze to death last night, my fingertips turned blue,
i heard a cloud say fuck you boy, did i come all this way for you
to say that i look like a rabbit,
better places i could be
i've seen my shadow put two fingers to her head
and pull the trigger, heard my echo laugh
about it with the walls, and every time
i hold a match i hear it
whispering to me,
if you don't want me to burn you,
then you're gonna have to blow me
i heard that you can't tame a lion just by pulling
at his mane, i heard that blood feels good
on porcelain and not just i
