It No Longer Rhymes...Let's change things around slowly, see what happens
You did not want to rhyme, did not want to say
You kept the rhyme going so interestingly
To avoid -- what was this life of mine?
So now one month later we change the style
We have cried some tears -- but over other things
The rhythm is gone, the tears, the shakes
As I take another glass of water tonight
My life is but a pulse, a scan if you may
And I take a breath to ease the scene
I see a heart lying side by side
As I move into it -- a little deeper
Let's see, a month ago
I had hope, I had love
Not love -- the hope of it
And now today
I am through the hurt
Unknown why, unkn
A Day -- of Weatheri think it was just that one day -- i cannot remember the weatherA Day -- of Weather3 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
it was a day i would never forget -- it was probably sunshine and hot
it was the day, when i lost my faith in you -- it was summer after all
when my heart was destroyed, i sat there and heard -- mid summer, to be precise
that, in my time of agony, my time of destruction -- the winter was yet to come
you were too busy, to answer my call, too much to do -- leaves about to fall
i stood alone again, not sure of what to do -- there was chance of rain
and my heart broke...slowly as I hung up the call -- clouds dark
if only I knew the troubles to come - tear drops started like rai

I watched her die
For two years
Knowing -- knowing
That it was cancer
I was told
Two years ago
She has watched me
Grow and learn
Happy to see me
A smile on her face
We tried surgery
Finally in the end
We tried no more
And let her die
In my arms.
She has been my companion
For 12 years
Just been there
She was my loving dog, who cared for me.

Through her misty tears
She wrote about writing
She back spaced
Her smile became a frown
For she could not express
How simple it was
To get lost in
How a simple poem
Made her cry
How could you explain that
How could you say
What it was like to
Cry, as you expressed
What you were trying to say
Trying to tell her
That little girl
That is me
How to love.
Truth in Her SmileShe smiled at you, as she held out her hand -- What is this about?Truth in Her Smile3 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
She said she cared, stepping forward -- I am suspicious
She made a dish for you, with a heart on it -- Is something wrong?
She said, so quietly, she would cook dinner -- Would it be poison?
Finally, she said in not so many words, I love you -- Does she really?
Making her smile, reach her eyes for truth -- This is shocking.
It was then, that you disappeared, quietly -- I must run
Dismissing love, because you did not have it -- Inside of you.

it was hard to describe her life, her best friend not knowing
-- the fear will make you sick -- Quick turn away, leave the little girl alone
her mum not understanding, the sister she must protect, silent
hiding, waiting, running away, she huddled closer to her pen
-- trapped with him, his face will distort your memories -- Am I making you uncomfortable?

A Circle before JailWriting about the fairy circle is hard, she thoughtA Circle before Jail3 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
It was an old tradition, passed down and down -- don't you have one?
-- a water tradition?
She would stand in the middle of her room
All painted in yellow, wearing a pretty dress, pigtales
-- perhaps a special saying?
Taking the dust from the bottle -- purple to be precise
May, I excuse you sir -- it had to be purple
-- special teddy bear -- am I reminding you?
She disappeared into her world of safety, her world of delight
Doing a fairy dust circle, sprinkling her childhood memory
-- Is was but years later
She remembered why, why the fairy dust circle was there

I do not look sexy or cute, do not entice anything out of me, with your sexual connotations
I am but a child, sitting there watching tv
Learning about the world, all of such eight, staring out the window
Not yet grown, not understanding that there is evil out there
And evil there laying on the couch -- watching me -- waiting, planning
For when the house is empty, ready to pray on me
Decisive, practiced, many a girl before me, and many after me
So I wonder, what went through in your mind, when you decided to violate my body
When you decided, what my life should

It took the drone of the fan
As the girl, torn, stared at, touched, humilated
Sees the lifeless grey cat
Sleeping in the start of autumn
Here, was her different life
It was calmer, more precise
Easier to manage, thoughts abound
A slight flutter of the birds outside
All she did was leave
Leave the nightmare of what it was
Endure the accusations, names, dramas
Thoughts and harrassment, she turns her
Head left, in the misery of it all
Glistening up into the clouds
Now forming and a rose developi

And he sat there and said such wonderful things - how smart you were and "hey look at this" and you could almost guess what his family makeup was. He had a brother for sure, but no sisters. You could tell by his confidence and his smile that it was internally happy. Just everything about him was happiness and deep caring. And you deeply cared back.
You could get lost in his ways – how he worried about you and cared for you and wanted to be there for yo

I'd be like this,
with broekn smiles
and scarred up wrists.
No, I never thought
I'd be like this
back when my world
was filled with joy.
I would cry so much,
and have to remember
faded out scars.
I never thought
I would feel alone
when I was a little girl.
Back when days were simple
and cooties still existed.
When I'd smile and play,
and had such big dreams.
of reaching for the sky,
of singing on stage,
and becoming president.
but it never crossed my mind
that I'd feel pain,
and cry so much
and that my pleas would go unheard
I thought the world
was a happy place,
for me as a little girl,
and I never though
A Poem of PoetryPoetry is like a drawingA Poem of Poetry4 months ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
A drawing made of words
A drawing not to be shown
But to be heard
Poetry is like the wind
For it can be soft and warm
And come in a graceful form
Or it can be swift and cold
Emanating fear and nothing bold
Words are meant
To be shared unbent
Not twisted full of lies
And should be without
Any sorrow or sighs
Poetry is beautiful
It's a song without instruments
Poetry is wonderful
A colourful collage of imagination
Poems are lovely
A poem is a story
And if you have never heard one
I shall feel very sorry
Job Well DoneHe sat there in the crowded hallway -- of which you took no noticeJob Well Done3 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Slowly taking his crayon, pens, lined paper -- you looked at your watch
He, all of 10, disappears writing his work -- too busy as you wander
Laying on the floor he writes it slowly -- not paying attention
He sits there in the hallway holding the sign -- the train is late
"It's Sometimes Pointless" it says, coffee stains -- you stop and stare
There is a crowd forming slowly, he looks straight ahead -- what is he doing?
He holds it with two small fingers, blank look cast -- you squint
It was then they started, carrying on about the sign -- they got angry
How it was not this

The darkness, the darkness

that humans are
the cruelest species
on the planet
shooting and killing
and other animals
and still we use humanity
to describe love and compassion.
Isn't it ironic
that to uphold
peace on earth
we bomb it.
Isn't it ironic
that murder is immoral
but the people
who carry out
death sentence and war
are heros forevermore.
Isn't it ironic
that we will say one thought
and do another deed
that we will change our morals
to be what we need.
Aren't we ironic?

Her daughter was her world,
She wouldn't let anything crush her little dream.
"Stay close to me dear, there's nothing to fear, beyond these fences there are golden fields."
She looks to her daughter, she looks to her light,
She would not let anything harm her,
She'd protect her with her life.
She watches as a car goes speeding by,
She wishes her daughter had a better life,
But she knew that her daughter will one day fly,
Fly into the open skies.
A man comes out from within the shadows of the alleyway,
He says "I'm sorry things must be this way,"
He pulls a gun, she feels stunned,
