Pretty damned solid Will!
You're makin it hard for me to find stuff to call.
I suppose this is technically the last episode for you this season. Wish we could celebrate somehow. It's been a solid, solid season for music score. You and your team are definitely killin it, and i'm sure the Bronies will feel it too. They're gonna have youtube videos where they extract the dialogue and SFX and just listen to the score!
Thanks for an awesome third season!
We were actually taking about this particularly in reference to the score for (omitted). We all agreed that you really took the scores for season 3 to a new level... so thanks for all your work this season!
Changing the world through musicSomeone recently brought up an interesting point as they left a comment on one of my YouTube videos. They argued that my talent wasn't very rare, and that everything I've done has already sorta been done before--that I'm not really pushing any boundaries or doing anything new. Tone is often lost or misconstrued over the internet, but it seemed to me that the person leaving the comment was insinuating that I was somehow "less" of an artist, or not quite deserving of praise, simply because I wasn't pushing some sort of boundary with the music I made.Changing the world through music2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have a pretty thick skin, but I'll admit that negative comments bother me. They bother every artist. We do what we do to make others happy, and if we fail in that endeavor, it makes us feel bad. Any artist who denies that is either lying, or not in it for the right reasons (in my opinion). That being said, the guy's comment on my YouTube video... kinda bothered me.
sessionSunday I have a great session lined up - I am recording a simple, charming waltz for a new show...I havesession2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Mike Thompson on piano (from the Eagles, Don Henley)
Weird Al on Accordion
Bermuda Schwartz on drums
Larry Antonino on stand Up bass (air supply, pablo cruise, etc.)
Tom Evans on woodwinds (tonight show band, glen frey, etc, etc.
I am going to track everyone live in my living room.
Should be a lot of fun.
Can't believe these serious A-list would do this for me for so little money.
It's because we're friends.
My friends are awesome to do this for me! Mike flies in from a show Sunday and then is just coming over.
I am one happy dude.
Time for more coffee.
13 minutes of quiet time left.

so many amazingly talented people and the everfree people were so accommodating and everything was so much fun and everyone said so many nice things to me and when I got on the stage to introduce a band I got as far as "hi I'm will anderson" before the applause was so deafening you would have thought the beatles were on stage. It was so humbling.
I don't even know where to begin so I won't.
Back to work.
Turning back into a pumpkin.
the cliffWe walked north on the beach until we could go no further.the cliff2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The north end of the beach in front of the hotel ends with an outcropping of rocks that protrude into the ocean for a hundred yards. Two hundred yards? I don't know. My senses seem to have dwindled over the years or are lost entirely at times.
We climbed up the highest rock and sat, talking about the time we braved the waves and rocks closer to the shore to get to another private beach farther north. This time there was a sign saying not to attempt such a crossing.
Looking down from our perch it occurred to me that we could just jump off the cliff into the sea and swim to the private beach. Probably would be easier.
Eleanor knew I was thinking about it. She pointed out a big rock just below the surface. Hmm. Not there. A little farther out. The cliff is a little lower. Hmm. Water looks dark and deep. Look, we could dive straight out, not down, we don't want to hit any rocks. Then we go around that bed of kelp and straight to th
On fandom, fans, and trollsI just flew in from Seattle, and I had a great time. In many ways it was one of the best cons I've been to. For my own part, everyone I met and encountered, from staff to attendees to VAs to friends old and new, were positive and the people incredibly kind and brilliant. I was witness to countless incidents of generosity and honesty and solidarity. Rarely have I smiled so hard or as often in the company of so many good people and admirable fans.On fandom, fans, and trolls2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But, sadly, it seems not every experience this past weekend was so positive.
Before My Little Pony I had no real experience with the concept of fandom beyond what I read with horror, and, admittedly a certain amount of amusement on internet websites and forums. But here I am, happily lost in a sea of technicolor unicorns and pegusi. I can't say I've been part of the MLP fandom since it began, I was actually somewhat late to the world of ponies. But I have seen it grow from a relatively sma
Hanging out with Weird AlI went to see my old bandmate Weird Al last night at the Pacific Amphitheater. We have been exchangng e-mails lately talking about MLP:FiM. I used to play in Weird Al's band, and have toured and recorded with him. We are good friends. All the guys in the band too. My homies. Especially Kimo and Bermuda.Hanging out with Weird Al2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Gee, wouldn't Al be a good guest star for MLP:Fim? Wow, seems like such a natural fit, don't you agree?
My daughter was supposed to record me chatting with him after the show but forgot to hit record...
Well, until we started talking about MLP. I just posted that on my You Tube page...
I miss playing live.
Man those guys are GOOD and TIGHT and play like monsters. And Al sang and performed his butt off. And the show is REALLY REALLY good.

I'm BACK!! (New Song with Michelle Creber.)Hello boys...I'm BACK!! (New Song with Michelle Creber.)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It has been a long and -redacted- tour, but I'm finally back in good old Yokosuka, Japan!
Over the past month, I've been to Hong Kong, Manila PI, and Hiroshima.
Pics on my Twitter account: https://twitter.com/BlackGryph0n/media/grid If thou givst a crap.
But enough about me! Let's talk about me some more!
So as you may already know, I recently collaborated with the one and only Michelle Creber (Voice of Apple Bloom) on a cover of a popular song by Michael Jackson (Voice of Michael Jackson)
AND IT'S DONE!
Not only that, but the fabulous Monique Creber created a music video entirely out of old footage from past concerts!
(I was on the ship and couldn't film anything new. )

Turning it off.I just shut everything down in my studio.Turning it off.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Flying to Seattle for the Everfree NW thingy today. I am nervous. I am not like Tara and Daniel, masters of charm and public grace.
It is always so...unsettling to turn everything off and leave my cave.
I am a troglodyte, and sometimes I work so long and hard that I don't want to leave my studio. It's safe in here. It's my sanctuary. Leaving it exposes me to, uh.
Oh. Well. Let's. Go. Do. This.
Gonna go watch the sun come up.

Anyway person, I thought I'd post some updates and let you know what's going on with me
and my projects and stuff and crap and what not and all that jazz!
So, I just got back from Korea... That was interesting.
(They had a huge collection of styrofoam missiles... )
I'll be back in Japan for about three weeks before I head out on a ship again for another two months, but after that guess what?...
THAT'S MY LAST TOUR!!
I'll be a veteran!
I'll be there!
I'll be around!
I'll be home for Christmas!
I'll be gone in a day or TWOOOOOOO!!!
But enough with the 80's music references.
I've got a LOT of projects to punch through before I leave, so I'm pretty busy.
Still, I'll try and find time to check my messages if you've sent me something.
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you in a while.
Here, have a cookie!
As far as the upcoming projects go... Some are kinda hushety-hush, but I

And for those who were curious it DOES look like the whole thing is airing at once. Wonder why Hasbro hates cliffhangers so much. LoL

Part One Storyboarded By: Tom Sales & Johnny Castuciano
Part Two Storyboarded By: Raven Molisee & Nicole Wang
"A magical empire has suddenly appeared in the arctic north of Equestria, and PRINCESS CELESTIA needs TWILIGHT SPARKLE and her friends to find a way to protect it. "Stupid scavengers," Eleanor said.
I watched the birds, saying nothing for a minute. But then I said:
"They're noble birds of the sea, not stupid scavengers. Look at how beautifully they are colored, the same as the sand and the clouds in the sky. And look at how their beaks are made to stick deep into the sand to burrow for crabs. And look how elegantly they hold their position against the wind, and how they can fly for great distances across the open sea."
We stared at the birds.
"They are beautiful, dad."
"I know, Eleanor. It's a little sad."
"Well, Eleanor, it is because of humans that they are distracted from their noble, original purpose. And what of our original purpose? Are we so much different? Look at us, chasing after cars, money, power, fashion, position. How much different ar
