I write to a dead general
To ease surviving pain,
A tear falls on the page -
A drop of desert rain
Like balm into the waters
Of lifes too bitter cup,
Tipping the scales of history -
To raise you slowly up.
Above your long-gone victors
Above the scorn of time
Above blind crowds and mockery,
With my ill-written rhyme.
I dont know if youll hear,
But Im doing what I can
To get this through to you
Past time and wind and sand
May the gods watch you in battle
My dear and long-dead friend
May the desert nights be warmer
And steady be your hands
Meanwhile Ill watch the picture
Of a kind-eyed weary man
And rue the sorry fact that I
Already know your end.

Fly german flag fly!
Soldier my friend, prepare your steps comrade!
Step under the guns!
So everybody has to go along, comrade
to honour our fatherland
To the peace serves the grey uniform
and not to the war of pain
We are bringing fourth a new era
in our young hearts
I: Hoist the flag high!, March!
Go ahead the leader leads!
With our flag the battle will be ours
Fly German flag, fly!:I
Soldier Friend, pack up Comrade
Take hoes and spades
We dont know any tranquillity, comrade
Therefore we are soldiers
Standing from frontier to frontier
Is an army of young farm lads
What we pluged away and sowed
(that) should overlast us
Hoist the flag! ......I: :I
Soldier my friend you know it Comrade
We have sworn an oath to this land
Together we carry its spirit, comrade
The one that left us so long ago
Our column is what braces
The Reich´s strength and defense
We are its spirit, we are its song
And its holy honor
Hoist the flag high ... I: :I
Confession: The Other LoverMy heart is racing, my hands are shaking.Confession: The Other Lover2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Forgive me for this letter, love.
My heart is breaking.
This affair has been heavy on my heart.
You deserve this confession,
It's tearing me apart.
It's not you, it's me.
Isn't that how it always goes?
Lover, I hope you understand my plea.
We met some time ago
And I fell so damned hard.
I just...I felt that you should know.
She's the drug in my veins,
I can't get enough, I'm mad with desire;
It's time to break these chains.
I came home last night,
but I never really left her place.
Please lover, understand my plight.
The pull has become impossible to resist -
I have to go back, I NEED to go back;
I've fallen for this terrible tryst.
I've had my chance to roam,
But shes calling my name baby;
Its time to go home.
I have a lover on the side...
Her name is War,
My combat bride.

Our flag is fluttering in the front. In the future we march man for man. We march for Germany by night and by necessity, with the flag of the youth for freedom and bread. Our flag is fluttering in the front. Our flag is the new age. And the flag will lead us into eternity! Yes, the flag is more than death!
Youth! Youth! We are the future soldiers. Youth! Youth! Supporters of the upcoming missions. Yes, through our fists will fall, who opposes us Youth! Youth! We are the future soldiers. Youth! Youth! Supporters of the upcoming missions. Leader we belong to you, all we comrades to you!

I TriedA man happened upon me while I paid my respectsI Tried4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
He questioned why I cried
To him I answered:
I joined, because actions are louder than words
But I failed to make a difference.
He scoffed slightly, and belittled me:
What did you expect, when you wield an instrument of death? Your fight is useless.
You only destroy everything, and never save anyone.
I looked right at him, no longer mourning
And what have your words done for mankind? Your talks of peace?
Have your words fed those that starved? Have your words brought families back together? Have they quelled the rage of those who wish death upon their fellow man? What have you done, you who belittle my actions?
While I did what I thought was right you criticized me, my every move.
Saying I should've done this, or shouldn't have done that.
Yet you stayed here, safe in your little home. Spouting random facts,
Saying I kill and die for an economical goal. A secret agenda.
To you, I may not be right
But at least I tried

the Age of Aquarius promised us.
I want to understand humanity
and ask you to take my hand when needed.
I want your hand
when I may desire the same.
I want prejudice to die
on the Altar of Compassion
while we walk arm-in-arm
without inhibition or shame,
a Love-In of not just tolerance,
but real acceptance.
My deepest desire is the reawakening
I want to end my vanity
to see what really matters.
I want a mature mind
with a young outlook.
I want to awaken refreshed each day,
and rest reassured each night.
I want to find myself by looking inward
rather than search the world in vain.
I want to accept responsibility and blame
if that’s what it takes to live honestly.
I want a revival of Love
we have all awaited for so long.
I want justice
for its own sake.
I want elections that give
a choice of politicians who will
“reach across the isle,”
instead of ridicule and polarize.
I want America to find its backbone
to stand against brutality
Runners: Chapter 1Runners - Chapter 1Runners: Chapter 15 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
The moon stood dominant over the stars in the night sky as it looked down upon a small line of head-lights move slowly up a small dirt track in the Challis National Forest. There were five vehicles in total; all white with no markings. They chicaned in between cliffs and trees, narrowly avoiding large gullies and endless drops that could easily end their lives.
They steadily made their way up into the densely wooded, more hazardous terrain higher up in the mountain range. The vehicles made their way down a steep ravine under the watchful eyes of two camouflaged snipers sitting high above the small convoy within their little concealed den. The pair watched as the vehicles trundled down the narrow road until they stopped next to a large, rugged outcrop. One of these snipers peered down his night vision scope to see one of the passengers of the lead vehicle step out. The man quickly made three hand signals before picking his radio from his ballistic vest.
Why Free Market Capitalism FailsIn this essay, I expose the flaws in the two mechanisms that are supposed to power the free market: Adam Smith's invisible hand and trickle down economics. The notion of the invisible hand holds that in a free marketplace, the buyer's self-interest will tend to drive the price down, while the seller's self-interest will tend to drive the price up, so that both parties' self-interest will naturally cause the price to settle on an amount that both find reasonable. Trickle-down economics maintains that the rich are the ones who start and expand businesses and hire employees, so the laws should favor them increasing their wealth as much as possible so they can hire more people, thus growing the economy. Why Free Market Capitalism Fails4 years ago in Philosophical More Like This

Data sighed, drumming his fingers on the desk. It was a human gesture he had picked up from his best friend, Geordi LaForge.
Next to Data on the desk were several large piles of books that Commander Riker had lent him. 101 Funny Jokes, one read. Dirty Humor, another read. Some of the other titles included Jokes to Make a Vulcan Laugh, Knock-Knock Jokes, and The Greatest Riddles of the Centuries. Data just didn't get it. The riddles were interesting, to be sure. But Data did not understand any of the jokes. Why a person's rear end could be funny was beyond him. Humans. Data just did not understand them. He petted his cat, Spot. "What should I do now?" he asked it. The cat purred, rubbing against him.
Data decided to go to the Holodeck. As it was 300 hours, there were very few p

It was dark, down here. So cold, and so dark. He could feel the darkness leaching into his bones, even more so than the cold, and somewhere far off, water dripped tauntingly.
He didn't want it to end this way. He didn't want it to end at all. He'd never given much thought to it ending, really. When you were a farmboy on a backwater agriworld and complained every day that you were going to die of boredom, it was a threat you never actually intended to act on.
But he wasn't going to die of boredomhe was going to die slowly and agonizingly with the relentless pain of a broken leg adding injury to insult. The boulder still lay on his crushed thigh, and because of the narrowness of the tunnel that he had burrowed himself into, he was unable to maneuver his arms around to push it off. Even so, he did not know if he would be able to crawl backward, nor what other obstacles might await him in the wake of the cave-in.
So there was a reason

The F-58A Hammer is an 6th+ generation ultra-long range, hypersonic heavy fighter designed for air dominance and rapid strike missions. Its design is based off of the proven F-33A Rapier II hypersonic multirole fighter, and thus shares much of its technology. In addition to the proven technology inherited from its predecessor, the aircraft also brings new technologies to the fighter world. The most notable of these technologies include SynVision, which is a form of synthetic vision designed for this, and other higher performance aircraft. It allows unparalleled situational awareness when compared to convention cockpit designs along with reducing RCS and aerodynamic drag. In addition to SynVision, F-58 also uses a more advanced variant of EO-DAS designed just for this aircraft.
Other advanced technologies include DAESA (Distributed Actively Electronically scanned Array), which places multiple AESA panels in various places around the aircraft to provide 360˚ ra

Chiaroscuro: The Tale of Sora Bulq
"Are you ready, my Padawan?"
These Jedi starfighters are new and curious things. Sora must admit that although he has no inborn inclination toward piloting, and is not as given to things mechanical as some of the other Jedi (such as that impetuous Anakin Skywalker who always gets himself into so much trouble in or out of the Temple; it seems Kenobi has been taking a file or two from Skywalker's datapad lately), there comes a certain thrill in being master of one's own craft zipping through the stars with something of a carefree abandon. He is the ship, and he holds the power to decide the fate of anything captured in his targeting display.
Not that even a hint of this is betrayed in his voice, his level tone as calculated and taut as the stretched-leather-brown skin on his deep-furrowed face which has never once smiled or frowned. There is no emotion, there is peace is far more than a trite max
Soldiers of Legend Pt 6 After a few hours, Gray Fox awoke to the sound of water running. Getting to his feet and collecting his HF blade, he went to find out just where it was coming from. After searching most of the ship, he finally found the source. It was a shower room, but the door was closed. Looking around, he noted a grate on the ground that was emitting steam. 'So, that must connect to that room. Walking away, he failed to notice that the condensation from the steam had made the substance that kept him invisible to thermal sensors nearly disappear. Walking over to the nearby galley, an idea came to mind. Though a deadly soldier, he wasn't above having fun, so he made some coffee and heated some pastries. Inside his mask, he was grinning from ear to ear when he placed it on the nightstand near the bed.Soldiers of Legend Pt 65 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

The Deceaseddo we keep the deceased in our heads? The Deceased4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
In little chambers in our hearts?
do they sit in living rooms waiting
for teatime? waiting for us
to visit them?
we imagine what they would say to us,
our brothers, mothers, fathers, sisters,
friends and mentors.
or rather, what we could say to them
if they would hear us across the void.
their curly wisps are found at every turn,
from photographs, to memories, to those tombs
where air no longer reaches their lungs,
and no longer need to.
we hope they listen.
we hope they hear us.
a funeral is never the final goodbye.
there never is a final goodbye, is there?
we keep the deceased in our heads,
in little chambers in our hearts.
they sit in living rooms waiting
for teatime, waiting for us
to visit them behind locked doors.
