Christmas... kind of late, I know Actually, this is my entry to contest Fractalize your Xmas Holidays. I spent this Christmas in Slovakia, it was beautiful there (lots of snow, dreamy atmosphere) but really really cold, so I was glad to be back in Prague for New Year's Eve
I am quite satisfied with this fractal. I had a vision of it in my mind for weeks; actually since I made Frozen I've had the base of it already done but I wasn't very happy with it back then. It was very dark, silver and dark blue gradient, really a snowflake during funeral kind of atmosphere. Also the shape was kind of too flat and boring. So I tweaked it a bit, changed colours and waited because I was still missing something. Then I discovered ~zy0rg's star shaped blur and everything became just perfect It reminds me of how I really liked to use pie and flower variation back in 2010... maybe because these shapes always look a bit out of place and grab attention... and they fit my artistic whimsical taste, I like to make things weird
Thank you for all favourites, comments, critiques and devwatches! It means a lot to me.
Remake of my old digital drawing Ivy Dream which I've been working on for a while now. The original is from year 2007 when I was just getting started with digital media. At the time I had no clue about digital painting or what to do with my Photoshop so I pretty much focused on coloring some of my pencil drawings. I know it may not look much but at the time I was really proud of that artwork - and it took me ages to finish, too, since everything was new to me. I'm actually still pretty happy with some things I did back then which is why I wanted my remake to stay true to the original as far as the pose and overall concept were concerned. It's fun to see both of them placed side by side and think of all those things I've learned in five years.
This was on the way to "Paradise" which is just outside Glenorchy, Otago in New Zealand. This little area was in shade 24/7 during winter and has perma-frost from the shade of the forest behind me while taking this 6 shot panorama. The mountain is Mount Albert and from it looks over the Dart River.
This is an entry for Train Your Brain Contest. This was a really fun piece to make, my theme was based on the book : Le Petit Prince ( The little prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) in which some characters the little prince encounters live on different worlds all by themselves and their worlds reflects their personalities. On this piece I tried to portray that childish magic but still wierd atmosphere the book has. I hope everyone has fun with this piece as much as I did.
