Get your Art some Attention on deviantARTFive basic tips to get your Art some Attention, Appreciation & Audience on deviantARTGet your Art some Attention on deviantART3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Here's some tips that may not get you a consistent spot on the front page right away, but that will definitely help getting some watchers and friends, whether you already have some, or not.
First, let me make clear that this is only about 'good' attention – if you just want, say, a certain pageview count, there are probably better ways. This article is for those who would like some people to take them serious as an artist and to actively watch them.
Also note that you needn't follow all of the tips below, but it's recommendable to follow at least 3 of them. Just one or two will not usually get you very far.
So here we go! :iconeagerpee:
Submit art regularly.
Try to find a balance between quality and quantity. Personally I think it's best to submit one or a couple of dev
About IsbjorgAbout Isbjorg3 years ago in Personal More Like This
FULL NAME: Isbjörg.
MEANING: Isbjörg's mother, Esmerelle, met her real father somewhere in the Icewind Dale. Probably, in memory of that bitterly cold place which meant so much to her she gave such "glacial" name to her daughter. "Is" - Ice, "Björg" - defense. Her foster father and others called her "Björg". And only Bishop calls her "Is" because it makes her angry
NICKNAME: Actually, no. But sometimes Bish calls her "Milady" .
ACTUAL AGE: 27-29 years old(means about 22 for half-elves).
SEXUAL PREFERENCE: heterosexual (but she did an exception for the girl once ).
MARITAL STATUS: She has(had) a "boyfriend". Yes, that stubbled, gloomy ranger. Can't say more about he

They were so much better last year/5 years ago/August 2000/before Jesus was a little boy.
They're all porn.
Like almost everything else on dA.
Apart from the anime and furries, which are EVERYWHERE and impossible to escape.
All the Admins are NAZIs.
That's why they don't care AT ALL about the masses of hate art you report and wilfully ignore your complaints, probably because they have it in for you, personally.
But hey, dA is all about the corporate greed, stealing your money and not giving away enough cool stuff for free to millions of users.

Disney vs Lucas ArtsIf ever you bring up Disney in a conversation, people immediately recite tired old issues with the company that haven't been true for a long time. For example, complaining about the excess of half-assed sequels. That was part of Michael Eisner's regime. When he left the studio the quality Disney was producing suddenly skyrocketed considerably. Likewise the excessive merchandising and branding of Disney related products has also ceased to be as all-consuming now that Eisner is gone. In fact, a lot of the main issues people had with Disney during the 90's and early 2000's was a result of Eisner.Disney vs Lucas Arts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Since Eisner left, the Disney studio has done a REMARKABLE job in clearing their name of many of the atrocities they had committed during his regime. They promptly turned the animation department around and have even begun doing 2-D animated films again after Eisner said "no." Granted, at the moment 2-D is still in hiatus, but the situation isn't as dire as it use to be and there's still promise

PE: Wire-WrappingThis article is a short introduction to wire-wrapping, including information about wire-wrapping terms and tools, methods, tutorials and a feature of beautiful jewellery.PE: Wire-Wrapping11 months ago in Art Features More Like This
What is wire-wrapping?
"wire-wrapping" is - like the name implies - a technique where wire is wrapped in whatever way. It can be used to hold gemstones in place, and create intricate jewellery. It has the big plus that soldering isn't neccessary, and therefore all the equipment needed is relatively easy to come by.
Terms and Tools
Wire comes in different different sizes and forms, and you can choose between materials as well - you can use brass, copper, silver and gold wire.
Wire diameter is measured in 'gauge' and ranges from 14 gauge (~1/16 inch) to 26+ gauge (1/64 inch), so the higher the gauge number, the thinner the wire.

What is Spec work?Lately its like a new virus, spreading, this so called contest, were people pick the winning one but they dont give you nothing in return, but they make money. Correct me if im wrong, because probably i miss it but whats the prize in last deviant art event. What is Spec work?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Correcty me if im wrong, people are going to send designs and designs that took months or years in preparations from schools, wasting money in materials, electricity, tablets, tears and blood, and in the end they wont receive anything just a palm in your shoulder saying good job.
Can you pay your bills with your tiny name at the end on credits? Forget about the publicity crappy excuse. People will get paid for this but the winner and contestants they wont.
Its a shame that deviant

Many times a friend or a deviant has said to me, "oh I could never fold origami, I'm not gifted that way", but it's just not true! As part of projecteducate's Artisan Crafts week, I'm going to show you how simple it is to find and fold something gorgeous and to present it well to your internet audience.
With just a little inspiration and a bit of patience, ANY one of us could fold something absolutely lovely. So what are you waiting for?? Let's get folding!
1) BE INSPIRED
First of all, you need to figure out what you want to fold. You need inspiration from looking at gorgeous origami, from admiring nature and the world around, or maybe it'll just hit you like a random lightning bolt. We are super privileged to have many experienced and skilful origamists on dA, many who create their own models from scratch. From persona

WISDOM NUMBER THREE!!! Work smart and leave your comfort zone. This part is my qualifier for art school, tutorials, and educational resources in general, because they can be good, but only if you make them good. Once you've gotten in to the habit of drawing consistently, it's important to start being mindful of what you're drawing, how you're drawing it, and why you're drawing it. A key ingredient of success is hard work, but if that work isn't purposeful it might not move you

and yeah...i still havent resolved the microphone issue :/
Clarifying an Issue with Stock ResourcesThere appears to be a fair amount of misunderstanding on the subject of stock resources so what I would like to do today is attempt to clarify several issues which are of importance to the artists who generously provide stock resources to the public for use and hopefully dispel the confusion and misinformation which is beginning to circulate.Clarifying an Issue with Stock Resources1 year ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
The first issue at hand is in regards to your personal stock terms
Your Personal Stock Terms
Officially deviantART maintains only one "automatic" restriction and that is "No Commercial Use" and that particular restriction can easily be overridden by the actual stock provider.
We only ask a few things from you in return;
Ubisoft Bullshit, Nintendo Wins, Link is a girlNow that the E3 dust has started to settle we can focus on some of the stuff that happened earlier this week in more detail.Ubisoft Bullshit, Nintendo Wins, Link is a girl7 months ago in Personal More Like This
When asked about why there was no female playable assassin in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, Ubisoft made the bad decision to try and justify it. They said that a female assassin was planned, but that they didn’t have the resources to implement it because it would’ve require too much extra work and “business is business” after all.
I call bullshit on that. It’s been well known that adding a female character to a game doesn’t increase the budget much (if at all), and many of the same animations and actions can be applied to both male and female characters. Even Jim Sterling addressed this issue (2 years ago) by asking people in the industry how “hard” it is to add female character models and the answer is... not hard at all really:
Cryamore Demo on the Horizon (New Gameplay Video)Hey everyone! We've been working like mad for this demo (GDC WEEK IS IN ONE WEEK, YIKES!), so I did a lil' gameplay recording teasing what we're throwing in so far. Of course, a lot of what you see is all Work-In-Progress, and we still have a lot to throw in this week (voice acting, cleaning up assets, events, etc.), so you're going to see a big change from the demo's release.Cryamore Demo on the Horizon (New Gameplay Video)2 years ago in Personal More Like This

The stretcher bar on our Wrapped Canvas Print will be changing from an 11/16" (1.75 cm) depth x 1 5/8" (4.13 cm) width to a 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) depth x 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) width.
The result will be an upgraded product that has a more professional,
gallery-quality look at the same great price.
For those who are not aware, the Gallery Wrap, which is what deviantART
uses for our Canvas Prints, is a technique that wraps the actual image around
all four sides of the frame.
The outermost 1 3/4" (4.45 cm) on all four sides will be stretched to wrap

Often do I hear things like:
"what custom brushes do you use"
"how do you achieve this blur/ focus effect"
"how did you get the colors to go this way and that"
"what technique or computer program did you use"
What I rarely get asked for is:
"What did you study to be more efficient at drawing."
"What is an efficient way to study how to render certain types of materials"
"How do you practice proper lighting when painting?"
Guys I'm just gonna say it now, there's no shortcut to art. I work primarily in digital mediums now but I do have a solid foundation in traditional mediums. I didn't simply go out and buy a $400 tablet and instantly got to where I am today. I use custom brushes and special effects in my pieces, but they only take up less than 3% of the overall work. There's sti
