Dryad concept for the game "Spirits of Mystery - Song of the Phoenix" I've tried to experiment with different textures and brushes here. I got the brushes from :iconmar-ka: [link] Check also my sketchblog, there's a rough sketch for that work: [link]

I painted this a long time ago.. on Oct 2010! as concept art for Etheron Online, a game developed by Cubinet Interactive Studio.

Mercurian is the name of her race, the name came from the word Mercury, the original concept was to give her metallic skin texture, look like mercury, but at the end we change it, make her skin look extremely pale.

She is a sorceress and she's using a mask as her magical weapon.

Colored in Photoshop CS3.

I did this pic for a Magic: The Gathering card in the Innistrad set. The card name is Disciple of Griselbrand.
There are some sweet pieces being made for Innistrad so keep it on your radar. You can read more on it here.
While I experimented with more dynamic compositions and am a fan of them, this simple take proved to say it best. Nothing flashy, just a twisted priest having his daily chant over the sacred altar in a creepy room. Of course, the chance to paint skin tones in lime green is always nice.

1 of about 6 separate commissions I had the pleasure of illustrating for Magic the Gathering's 2014 Duels of the Planeswalkers campaign.
This one was really hard to nail down. It was one of those pieces where you basically have to choose how you're going to lose; because she is an extremely difficult character to work with.
She's gotta be:
-Tough, but not too tough.
-Aggressive, but not too aggressive.
-Pretty, but not too pretty
-Tom-Boy, but not too tomboy

You get the idea.

Yes, I know there is some anatomical and perspective stuff that is out of wack here, but it is what it is.
I'm one of those people who sees only the failures in my art and how it "coulda, shoulda, woulda been better", which is ultimately good; it always keeps me striving for excellence, which is a great place to be if you ask me.

So I learned a lot on this one...

After I threw my chair against the wall a few times.
