This is the most prominent of the two boathouses at Ashford Castle, Ireland, county Mayo. This one lies in front of the castles entrance, and the tourist ferry sails from it. It has a lovely view up the river Corrib.

In the late 13th century it was a strategic fortress, along with Annaghkeen Castle in defending the Manor of Headford from incursions across Lough Corrib. It is totally restored in the 1970's after being dilapidated before
