Beadwork feature - shaped flowersFlowers in this feature, unlike the ones in Flowery beadweavings feature, were not made just by "painting" flower in beaded fabric using different coloured beads and, unlike French beaded flowers, don't need wire in order to get or keep shape. These were made using different sizes of beads, different stitches, different tension, by increasing, decreasing and shaping the beaded fabric. Small Talk and Huge InvestmentsI don't think that many people know, but I'm actually partially colorblind. They've tested me for Daltonism (red-green colorblindness) because the main spectrum that I've lost is reddish-orange to brown, but I haven't lost the greens yet. This makes it a little more difficult for me to match skin tones when dolling, and very, very hard to make any dolls with red or brown hair (notice how I stay away from those colors in most of my art?Small Talk and Huge Investments3 months ago in Personal More Like This).
The reason I mentioned it is because someone pointed me toward a pair of prescription glasses that allow people with red-green colorblindness to see color. To me, this is amazing news and I can't wait to drop almost a full paycheck start looking into these. I'm not sure if there's a place where I can see how effective they are and whether they're worth the investment (about $900), but I'm trying to get as much information and reviews on them as I can before I start making this a serious inquiry to specialty eyewear s

September is here...and I am ready to start updating! Hope to do a big set of photos tonight of all the new goodies I have been working on. Way too many have slipped through my hands without getting pictures taken of before events. It has been a bit hectic keeping up with stock but I have a nice break until November for the next event I will be vending at.September is here...9 months ago in Personal More Like This
How does this benefit you? You have a chance to call first dibs on a piece before an event!
So yes, keep an eye out for updates this week.
I recently took a beading class this past weekend and I learned some techniques that I can't wait to slip into some of my designs! I have already made three new pieces and while they might not be pure steampunk, they would certainly go with the right steamy outfit.
See you in the updates!![]()

After the money transfers to my bank account I'll be writing up the check and mailing it out. Ya'll have nooooo idea how happy I am about this. If I get accepted (depending on the number of people applying and how soon I get my paperwork in) I'll likely make around a $200+ profit at Mystic Fest, which is what the money was for. The next convention I'm working is September 22nd.
Those in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area here's the info on the convention so you can check it out and say hello to a fellow dA member:

in may, zhang jingna (better known as zemotion on dA) invited me to collaborate with her which led to her using my jewelry in an editorial shoot she was doing for singaporebride.com. i was (to say the least) ecstatic to be involved. it felt completely out of my league; yes, i was out of my depth and on cloud nine.

I also found a very hard to find movie on DVD: The Beastmaster (1982). One of my favorite movies EVER. Last time I tried hunting it down it cost $60!!!This one cost only $15, and with three of them left in stock Joe bought one for me.
So excited!!! I know a lot of people hated that movie, but for me it's sort of nostalgic. Brings me back to my childhood.
Also, I spent time with friends at a RagTag meeting, and made a couple new friends while there as well. I decided to bring some jewelry with me too in case anyone wanted to wear it while being photographed. A lot of them loved my stuff, but alas no pictures or sales.Joe picked me up at around 8p, and we got a couple shakes since I was in such a good mood. I hadn't gotten ou

Actually I can not say this is my first international publication. My first was some art for a LARP group rulebook in Lincolnshire England called "Bloodbath." And while I relish that day, this one is VERY SPECIAL to me and not just between friends.
More work for "Circle" to come.

To the rambles on apartment stuff!
Also, Next Friday is my move date.If all goes well, that is.
Because it's my first time renting, and I'm an unemployed college student, I have to pay an extra security deposit. Or have a co-signer. Which means extra deposit it is.
A deposit of $926.
But it's refundable upon move out.
I will have a bit of money for a few apartment essentials. I'm still looking over what is more important and what can be put off for a bit.
I know it's naughty of me, but I'm planning on buying a somewhat expensive cooking ware set. The reason being is that one, me and my room mate LOVE cooking. And this set has pretty much ever
True BeautyOnce a small village far inland was having a visitor-- a handsome rich young ruler who was looking for a bride! So the villagers gathered all of its most beautiful daughters to stand before him, but he decided that he was going to wait a year to choose. One of the daughters of the village however didn't attend the meeting, because she was...well, not beautiful. Many thought her ugly, and whenever they told her so, she became more and more ugly, and she knew it.True Beauty1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Months passed and the man still hadn't chosen whom he wanted to marry, and most of the daughters had stopped bothering to get his attention. In fact, many had already gotten married. But there was a tradition that was always upheld in the village: a man would have to pay the father to have her hand in marriage. Meaning that however many oxen and cattle he paid him with was how much he thought his wife-to-be was worth.
The ugly daughter didn't give the man much any thought. She knew he wouldn't choose her, so what was the point i

ITU and its dangersYet another attempt to the independence and freedom of the internet. I grow weary even speak about all this but I try to increase people awareness about how useless the politic system has become and how they represent their citizens less and less and play for whatever big corporation or commercial interest fill their pockets or sponsor their campaigns.ITU and its dangers6 months ago in Personal More Like This
Here is a small movie who speaks about what is ITU. Its also a petition you can sign against it if you feel like involving yourself. I urge everybody to share this link and involve him or herself: https://www.whatistheitu.org/?ref=an
ETNO tries to limit internet neutralityAlthough it sounds like a balcanic music style, this member of ITU is nothing as benevolent as that. It seems that they are outraged by the freedom of the providers to give us the best service for our money so they came with a proposal to restrict that. You, me and all internet users might find ourself one day with crappy connections because they want to impose something called "per click basis". To learn more about this new attempt at the freedom and neutrality of the internet by companies who don't actually have the right to modify that, read this article: https://www.accessnow.org/blog/2012/10/16/say-it-aint-so-etno-dangerous-proposal-threatens-net-neutralityETNO tries to limit internet neutrality7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Fake freedom, hidden controlWhile things like ACTA, SOPA and PIPA have been swept under the rug and the controversy of those bills have now been silenced, things have taken a more sinister turn and they become slowly worthy of a dystopian novel. The more talk about freedom there is, the less it seems it actually is. And to justify this affirmation, check back into the legislation of your own country for the past year. While ACTA SEEM to have been put aside (for now), there is a tacit implementation of internet and phone control on all the countries. Special divisions have been formed, sites of sharing and torrents have been brought down, people convicted. Your private information is mandatory stocked into servers for months or even an year and, to top it all, YOU don't have access to it. I mean really, you don't have access to your own information!
