Explanations and some answers :)So I think the biggest question posed on my last journal, which again I am in awe it gained such a following, was "What solution would you have to fix this problem?"Explanations and some answers :)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Now, I will be frank with you I never gave it much thought because that journal was just a rant, a venting of my feelings more over than an article call for revolution. I have sparse ideas on how I'd do it but since I am not a programmer nor do I have personal experience in matters involving such things my methods would likely not work. Hence why I asked about the admins on this site, and why they don't appear to be doing much of anything to stop such things.
I could spend days picking and speculating on reasons as to why people do the things they do and I could probably talk the ear off a statue on how much it annoys me, but that's not the point and it won't do any good. Had I known that journal was going to receive such a response I probably would have made it more formal and less... well, personal.

Heres some photos of tonights show & then fotos of our swimwear collection which we lamely named Cirque Du Blanc

How I made the Alien fossil pendantMany people have asked how i made it so i'm gonna tell you In great detailHow I made the Alien fossil pendant3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I made it because a very nice man asked me to. Challenge accepted!
And i must admit - it really was a challenge
I have spent quite some time scratching my head and thinking 'how da hell am i gonna make this?'
So we're talking about this thing:
I started from the head.
The top was supposed to be shiny so standard wrapping was out of the question. I chose a low dome half round wire instead. That thing is SO hard to bend sideways and i had to bend it to get the head shape. After the bending battle was done i spent an hour fine tuning the shape of the head with various files.
Then there was the jaw. And the bottom of the head. The bottom should have some details so wrapping it worked fine. I measured how much wire should go into it, flattened 20ga wire, filed tiny little teeth in the front of the jaw, shaped it to get a bit of 3D action going there and wrapped it al
Beadwork feature - shaped flowersFlowers in this feature, unlike the ones in Flowery beadweavings feature, were not made just by "painting" flower in beaded fabric using different coloured beads and, unlike French beaded flowers, don't need wire in order to get or keep shape. These were made using different sizes of beads, different stitches, different tension, by increasing, decreasing and shaping the beaded fabric. I don't fave watermarks.I’ve harped on about this before and I’m going to do it again…..and again and again…..until people stop doing it.I don't fave watermarks.2 months ago in Personal More Like This
I do not fave pictures that have watermarks right across them.
This isn’t me being monumentally arrogant and thinking that I alone faving a piece of work bestows upon it some kind of greatness. This is just me having an artistic eye.
If you’ve slaved to create the most astounding piece of work to have ever graced the galleries of deviantart, something that puts all your peers to shame and will remain a benchmark that others aim to match for years to come…..and then across the middle of it you decide to slap a watermark that you spent 5 minutes farting out: you just f**ked up your artwork. You have added something that detracts from my enjoyment of the piece and I’m not going to fave it.
There are a number of brilliant artists out there who I’m on the verge of unfollowing, simply because it irks me so much to see a
The New Street Photographer's ManifestoFebruary 7, 2013/by techgnoticThe New Street Photographer's Manifesto2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Street photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson called it the “decisive moment”— the captured instant when all the photograph’s elements come together to tell a story in a way a text narrative of thousands of words could never begin to. It is what hooks people, both practitioners and advocate-devotees, on the art form. It is uniquely completely immersive in life— step out into the streets— in which the moment of artistic epiphany can never be guessed at until it suddenly happens. When it is properly mastered, it is as pure as the dawn of each new day, as true as the living organism of a teeming street scene catching a breath as one.
It's no easy task to pull a book together for publication and "The New Street Pho

Resources For Artists: Colour Scheme ToolsColour Scheme ToolsResources For Artists: Colour Scheme Tools2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
So I have been thinking of doing a few articles apart from feature articles to link some useful resources for artists and this is the first one of these. While this is a mini one, it's helped me a lot on several occassions.
Sometimes it gets confusing to decide which colours to choose. "'Should I go with a turquoise and a gold for the face? What about the room? I was going for a chic cool modern palette which is minimalistic!" Surely, a lot of us have gone through those decisive moments. Below are some colour scheme tools that would help you with your colour scheme choices. Click the titles or the links in asterisk to go to the following sites.

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type in order to make language visible.
Pretty simple, eh? Basically as you are reading this you are "reading typography". What I will refer to in this article is digital artistic typography, though. This is not the everday typography you see on street signs, books or on websites.
It can be anything! Which is amazing and scary at the same time

Some of it is crafted for doll houses and doll props, some people make beautiful jewelry with food, but some just make it because it's so incredibly fun.

Short review of most popular semiprecious gemsSHORT REVIEW OF MOST POPULAR SEMIPRECIOUS GEMSShort review of most popular semiprecious gems2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Hello, it's me again!
Today I'd like to show you a little who-is-who in gemstone world. It will be probably most useful for jewelry makers but gems are used in so many artisan crafts that I hope even those of you who don't make jewelry will find the article interesting. So here we go!
Since I'd like to stay on topic, today's article will be just about popular stones, not about differences between precious and semiprecious or definitions or tips how not to buy a piece of crap instead of real stone. Maybe I will write about those things in future and if you have any questions or need help with identifying some stones feel free to note me, I'll be happy to help
Now let's get those stones rollin'
Quartz is one of the most popular minerals. It's a base for many other gems, like chalcedony, agate, jasper and others. The name 'quartz' is reserved for macro-crystals of tr
Instagram Can Sell Your Photos Without Paying YouEDIT 19/12/12: Instagram has responded.Instagram Can Sell Your Photos Without Paying You2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Though the language they use seems to want to overly passify rather than address issues. "Your photos are your photos and we respect that." is a nice sentiment but does not necessarily exclude "we have the right to license and use your stuff even though you own the content" By signing up to instagram you are giving them permission to do this even though you do technically own the content you are submitting.
I'm not going to flail my arms about doom, but I will say, artists be aware. Not just about this, but about any contracts you sign. There is some real sketchy language in the fine print here that needs to be clarified or changed as of right now. More than just an "everything's fine, don't worry" letter. Company lawyers have a tendency to try to take the largest chunk of whatever they can, and only back off when their actions are made public and they ar
Shame about fennecs + my favourite wolves - PHOTOSHi!Shame about fennecs + my favourite wolves - PHOTOS2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I went to my beloved ZOO Olomouc to photograph animals yesterday - I needed a break from the thesis writing.
I spent hour or maybe more with my favourite wolf subspecies - Iberian wolves. They were very active and even aggresive, snapping their jaws and snarrling a lot. One of them tried to catch a crazy rodent. It was fun and I got many photos for you
But the bad news - fennec fox got a new light in their enclosure. It is a red light and it TOTALLY does not allow you to photograph, because the specific light ruins the texture of the animal's fur and there is no chance to get any photo I am sad about it, I loved this place for fennec photography now it has been lost... in ZOO Dvur Kralove, they put those foxes into very dark indoor exhibit, so this place is also lost and in Prague, you never see them... Hm... I am a bit sad about it, I would miss those little guys
I also definitely need a new lens. My current one had troubles to focuse yesterday and I could not take a s

Okay guys, go to your media player/MP3/I-Pod, whatever it is you use to listen to music, and set it to shuffle. Now fill in the blanks with whatever song comes up and you MUST stay in order, no skipping ahead! For the very first song you can skip ahead or look away and pick a song at complete random.
Look up the songs to really understand how funny these can get! You may find some new songs you like.

Poetic Terms and TechniquesPoetic terms and techniquesPoetic Terms and Techniques1 year ago in Literature Features More Like This
This article aims to give you a brief introduction to some poetic terms with which you can bemuse your friends and nonplus your enemies. Try and sling some of these terms into a casual conversation and watch the ensuing confusion.
If you don't want to confuse people, you could use these terms to discuss poetry like a badass
while smoking unfiltered cigarettes in a French cafe, when critiquing, or to give your own poetry a bit of a vajazzle.
These terms are arranged vaguely into alphabetical order for your convenience. Some of them will be covered in more detail in other articles throughout the week.

Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds, often used for a specific effect in poetry.

How to : Find Art ThievesPlease this journal, so that a lot of people can read it.How to : Find Art Thieves2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I noticed that a lot of people don't know how to search for their photos on the internet, so here is a short tutorial. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about art thieves, but i still think it is important to look out for them.
1. visit Google.com
2. Go to the page of the photo you want to search and click "show image"
3. Copy the Link and paste it into google.
4. This page should open, click "search by image".
5. Now you can browse trough the results.
6. The less results the happier you should be.
EDIT : You can also use websites like : tineye.com and iqdb.com
This was pointed out to me by some people, personally i have no experience with them, but i am sure that they work too.
