Metroid: HoU: The Fangirl upgrade"The Fangirl upgrade." Samus said, selecting the upgrade. She was currently standing in a sparkling clean room, the adjacent rooms the same. All the writing had been removed from the walls, and all the dust had been swept away in Samus' cleaning frenzy. She still wasn't quite happy about upgrades that made her act like that, but was curious as to just what a Fangirl upgrade could mean. Surely it couldn't do what the name said, how would that even work? Whatever it could do, it would be better than cleaning and speaking in some incomprehensible dead language. She took the upgrade from the machine and inserted it into her zero suit, waiting for the changes to begin.Metroid: HoU: The Fangirl upgrade3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Quickly, Samus' suit began to glow, before ceasing quickly. The material of her suit began to change, changing from the latex-like material to a soft, but cheaper looking shiny fabric, losing the slightly hard quality to it. While it was still tight, it was even thinner than her normal suit, and rather than the flawless secon
Metroid: HoU: The Medusa Upgrade"The Medusa upgrade." Samus said, selecting the upgrade from the list. She recalled that there were a few alien species named after the original human term, and that involved snakes. Since she seemed to be doing snakes recently, she thought that she might as well get those out of the way, and hey, maybe it'd be something useful for a change. She took the chip from the machine and inserted it into her zero suit, waiting for the changes to begin.Metroid: HoU: The Medusa Upgrade3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Immediately, Samus felt her scalp begin to tingle, and immediately felt it with her hand, running it through her hair to see what was happening. However, she couldn't find any immediate change, and decided to give it a minute. After half a minute, she noticed a rather thick lock of hair drop down over her eyes. She brushed it out of the way, only to have another drop down. And another. Which was odd, since she kept the front half of her hair specifically cut to keep out of her eyes.
She began to walk towards the mirror to take a look at herself,
Metroid: HoU: The Justin Bailey upgrade"The Justin Bailey upgrade." Samus selected. She wasn't quite sure why she had decided to take an upgrade that she knew would transform her into one of her greatest foes. Maybe something left over from the Fangirl upgrade? Either way, it seemed to be a useful upgrade on its own. But afterwards, one upgrade had caught her eye because of its odd title. None of the other upgrades were named after a specific person, and who was this Justin Bailey person anyway? Samus had decided to find out, and took the upgrade from the machine, inserting it into her zero suit.Metroid: HoU: The Justin Bailey upgrade3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Samus' zero suit began to glow, the colour changing from blue to a light purple, the lines and patterns of the suit fading as it became a solid colour. Just below her knees, the fabric began to recede, leaving her with a pair of boots as it shrank upwards, stopping at her rear as it curved upwards into a leotard design, leaving her legs bare. Her hands became uncovered as the neckline of her suit began to drop, lowering until it be
Ridley Reborn Chapter 14Samus placed her hand back over the console, fingers dancing delicately over the buttons as she manipulated the tractor beam to draw Ridley into the ship. His body inched closer and closer as the ship slowed his fall to a halt. He reached out and grasped at the opening, fingers finding their grip, pulling closer, losing grip and finding it all over again. With a grunt and one last strain of effort he hauled himself through the hatch and clung to a handhold for support, trying to find his footing.Ridley Reborn Chapter 145 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Samus pushed another few buttons, leveling off and closing the opening behind him before turning her attention to what the monitor was displaying. The scanner in front of Samus was locked on the Ridley copy and showed it falling to the ground with a hard thud. She grabbed a joystick and gave it a few gentle nudges before pulling the trigger. The whole ship shook slightly from the force of its cannons firing and punching holes in the dragon beneath them and it knocked Ridley off balance, sendin
Ridley Reborn Chapter 13There was a certain charm to the structures Ridley had cobbled together in his short stay at the temple. Chozo architecture was advanced but favored elegant simplicity to ornate extravagance and the stone hut was as simple as could be. It had taken him several days to find enough tablets on masonry to be able to coerce the stones into the shape he wanted them to be in and stay together but the end result was perfectly smooth surfaces and even angles. It even had a stool made from woven branches stretched over a frame and a bed that he made in the same way. The ship had more comforts but making something with his own two hands filled him with such a swell of pride that he couldn't bear to not make use of it, if only for a little while, even if his back ached a little each morning.Ridley Reborn Chapter 135 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

MirrorIf nothing else, I am a survivor.Mirror5 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
I survived the attack of my first home, survived the environment of Zebes- twice over now. I've fought Ridley and Kraid, countless little vermin that swarm the caverns, even Mother Brain herself; and that's saying nothing of the metroids. And I've survived being forced to crash, to lose all my weapons. Being forced to hide in the dark corners where they can't find me, or cramped tunnels where I could barely breathe.
It's humiliating. I was called in because I could prevail where others failed miserably, and I'm reduced to the bare minimums, cowering like a child. No, even when I was young, I had never been this scared. I've never really stared death in the face like this, my choices at this point are to stay here and starve, or go out and be killed by the pirates.
I just can't see any other way. I am going to die here.
The strange thing is... realizing this? I didn't feel as frightened. Yes, it meant admitting I wasn't leaving Zebes alive. But I

Before the Storm
"...I... I'll do whatever you want of me..."
That was it; it had been done... A simple phrase sealed my fate forever. I stood before Prime; the being that had made my life a living hell... Only moments ago, I had surrendered to him in exchange for his teachings, the ability to control the phazon writhing inside me. I immediately knew I would regret it; but it was all I could do... It's so ironic that after all that had happened, he was the only one who I could go to... The only one I could trust. I felt like I was going to be sick realizing all of this... My entire world, my entire life even, had been turned upside down.
And how was this answered? What response did Prime give for my soul-shattering choice? Practically nothing... He just laid his hand on my head and told me:
"Good choice woman..."
Just that one gesture made it seem all the more worse... All I was wearing was an impoverished cloak that flowed over my naked body and I was

After defeating Mother Brain for the final time with the help of the infant metroid and ultimately destroying the Planet Zebes, Samus Aran returns to her normal routine of hunting bounties until a distress signal code-named: "Baby's Cry". The words hit home for Samus, since she is still hit hard by the death of the infant metroid who saved her life, and sets a course for the signal's location.
Upon arriving in what is known as a "BOTTLE SHIP", she meets a squadron of Galactic Federation troopers led by her former CO, Adam Malkovich, who is, to her, a mentor and father figure. Finding herself under his command once again, she and the other Federation troopers uncover an operation gone so wrong that it may endanger the entire universe.

Ridley Reborn Chapter 9Ridley walked towards his sleeping quarters and yawned. Samus had spent about three hours torturing him, and he ached all over. She had stripped him almost bare, tied him to a chair and proceeded to use various means of inflicting pain to get information out of him. He had been honest from the start, but she had needed to make sure. Still, that didn't give her the right to break several of his bones even though they could quickly be restored by his zero suit. He slumped onto his bed and closed his eyes, turning off the lights. Rolling over, he made himself comfortable.Ridley Reborn Chapter 96 years ago in Science Fiction More Like This
It was then that he noticed his arm was wrapped around something soft and there was a sound like a small weapon being charged. Samus fired her paralyzer at him right in the chest and the shock caused his muscles to contract painfully, making him roll out of bed and onto the floor. I thought we agreed I was going to sleep in here for now. Ridley mumbled something incoherent while the effects of her attack wore
Mother Has LearnedSamus shot open the door leading to her final foe's lair. The darkness of Tourian had forced her into activating her night visor, and in each room, whatever light remained from the last faded more and more. Here, though, it was brighter, and Samus could feel, not only see, why. The narrow but tall and also deep hallway was shaking tremendously, and an orange glow was creeping up the walls. She looked down and noticed that she was standing on a platform above the actual ground, and that rising up to her platform was a pool of lava. When she looked up, she saw rinkas, a type of security system that shot ring shaped, plasma encased, artificial organisms at intruders, flying toward her. They were much like white blood cells, except that they could not change directions once they were fired. But they could penetrate walls, so there was no hiding from them. In addition, there were also laser cannons lining the high ceiling that Samus could not destroy. Luckily their aim was faulty, and theyMother Has Learned3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This

Under The Grace of Demons
I had been unconscious for some time now. I was slowly beginning to piece together what had happened. I remember dimly that I regained control over myself after going completely over the edge. It was just a blur, but I could still remember the power bursting around me. Right up until Prime assaulted me, then nothing.
Suddenly as I thought about what had happened, feeling began to return to me; I was waking up. Weakly my eyes blinked open. I looked up to see something blue... As my vision cleared I suddenly realized what it was. It was Prime... I was looking right into his eyes. He was looming over me crouching next to my side, not but a few feet from my face.
"You finally awake?" He suddenly asked, as if he had been waiting for me to wake up for hours "You're a lazy bitch aren't you?"
I immediately yelped and shot upward, scared to death of what I had woken up too. I let out a sharp cry of pain from my movement
Ridley Reborn Chapter 11Ridley prodded the side of the metal casing on the table before him. It was probably deceptively simple, but he really had no idea what scrap materials Samus had used to make it and he was wary of it suddenly falling to pieces or bursting into flames if he pushed the wrong button. He slid one of the levers on the side back and forth but nothing happened. There were two buttons on the other side and he couldn't decide which to check first. He settled on the left one and pressed it, watching the device spring to life. The slots on the top slid closed and the whole thing began to heat up slightly. He set it down and watched for a moment before it popped open and jumped slightly.Ridley Reborn Chapter 116 years ago in Science Fiction More Like This
The movement made him wonder what kind of technology was inside it, whether it was simplistic or overly elaborate. He ventured a guess that it was probably some kind of movement system like a spring or a miniature kinetic cannon. He pressed the other button but nothing happened, leaving him to wonder why Samus had

Strangely, her armour didn't glow this time. It fact, it seemed to lose the shine of its alien metal, and appeared a bit duller, although no less strong. Even without the usual glow of her suit, the changes still progressed. First her shoulder spheres grew smaller, less than half their original size, and lost their curved in more, losing the rubber like area that connected it to her arm in exchange for flexible leather, covered by a thin sheet of metal. Instead of the green light of her normal armour, two large emeralds appeared on what were now her pauldrons. Her upper arm's metal shrank inwards into a smaller layer of metal, connecting to her gauntlets, retaining most of their size. The glove part of her gau

I stood perfectly still, unmoving at the top floor of the abandoned mining installation of my old home, Earth Colony K-2L. There before me stood Dark Samus; or hovered rather. He was upside down in the air using his ability to manipulate gravity; he slightly drifted off in a separate direction, but only slightly. It almost seemed lazy how he did it; like someone floating in zero gravity with no control of their actions. His eyes were on level with mine.
"Happy to see me?" he asked mockingly.
Finally breaking my transfixed state, I jumped several feet away from him and heightened my guard, full and ready to attack and defend at any time. He chuckled and flipped around in the air so that he was now right side up. His feet indolently touched the ground, now supporting his weight.
"Why are you still following me!?" I nearly yelled "What more do you want from me? What's left!?"
"I didn't come to this ruined place to meet with you" He said.

Death? Never knew him...
Nothing... I saw nothing... just a gaping void of sleeping dreams... Only a few moments ago, my consciousness faded... Prime had knocked me out. However, there was something more to the blackness clouding my vision. I could feel all of my body, but I couldn't move any part of me. However I still could think as clearly as I did when I was awake... What was it? Had I died? Was this the afterlife? ...No, no it couldn't be...
Without a single explanation or reason, I determined on my belief alone that I was still alive... at least on some level... But where was I then? I heard and saw nothing; only the constant chatter of my thoughts filled this void... It was then that I realized where I was.
"This is... my mind?"
It was the only explanation that I could think of... But why am I here? If Prime knocked me out, then he should have killed me... Unless...
I was knocked out while fighting against my corruption..

Over the last few days I had been staying on Norion. It was different for me to remain on this planet for long amounts of time, but this was not a large leap from my normal living situation. I had no real home after all, other then Phrygis, of course. But I rarely went back there any longer. And because my job required me to constantly move from one world to the next, it became second nature to live anywhere my job took me. However, this time it was not work that was keeping me here...
The reason I was here was Samus Aran. Recently it had been reveled to us all that Dark Samus was living within her body, right under our noses. I found it disgusting that he would dare to do such a thing... But I despised myself even more for not believing Samus when she tried to tell me about this on Bryyo...
I usually preferred to work and live alone. I wasn't quite sure why, but it had always been like that for me. The one exception that I had eve

"Yes" He said simply.
"What happened to killing me?" I asked "Where did that need go!?"
"As I said earlier, I am capable of rational thought now Samus" He said "Not to say that killing you didn't cross my mind... But after some thought, I found it wasteful... You are a rare specimen after all"
I growled in anger. He chuckled.

Samus Aran stared long and hard at the hastily-written note she held in her hands. It was clearly written by a child, by several children in fact. The words were written in what appeared to be crayon, scribbled down in creative loops and curves, going from cursive to plain text in between sentences, and a few doodles here and there. However, Samus was still trying to decipher the message when she suddenly felt a familiar hand come in contact with her bum.
"What're you reading, Samus?" Princess Zelda peered over her girlfriend's shoulder, pretending she hadn't just goosed the bounty hunter's well-rounded backside. Samus shook off her blush.
"It's some letter; I dunno how I got it, but I think it was caught in between the thrusters of my gunship or something."
"Wow. Amazing it didn't burn up into ashes...!"
"So what does it say?"
"It's kinda hard to make out. I think kids wrote it. B

Samus woke up in a cold sweat. She sat up and turned on a light near her bed, trying to forget what she had just seen. But the thought wouldn't leave her. She buried her face in her hands.
"Damn it... It was just a dream, get a hold of yourself!" Samus said aloud in an attempt to calm down.
She took her hands from her face, and noticed that she was shivering. Angry with herself, she threw off the blanket, and sat at the side of her bed, wiping the sweat from her face. She was horrified. One phrase from the end of her dream haunted her: "I swim in your blood now woman, I shall never die". This phrase echoed through her head again and again.
"I'm sure it was killed; I was there when it happened. I'm why it happened... If it had survived- Wait, no, it couldn't have survived... It couldn't have..." Samus said to herself varying between certainty and doubt.
She couldn't stop thinking about it. Getting desperate, she decided

Ghor stood silent, trying to comprehend what he had just been told. I had explained to him about Dark Samus contacting me, as well as my explanation as to why I had survived my fatal wound. And when he finally responded, he said something I wasn't expecting.
"Preposterous" Ghor said "Utterly impossible"
"What?" I asked surprised he had said such a thing.
"Samus, you actually believe that Dark Samus is living within you and is the one that saved you from death?" Ghor asked "I thought that you of all people could have offered me a more sensible reason for this. Honestly, I would never have guessed that you would come here in the middle of the night to tell me you've been having bad dreams"
I knew that Ghor was not one to believe something that he didn't consider logical, but still it was unusual for him to shoot down an idea as soon as it came up.
"What's so hard to believe? If Dark Samus has the ability to assimilate things into his
