Given the recent uprising and being informed of art theft on other websites it's time to start putting an opaque watermark on my work somewhere.
Places like Facebook tend to blur and distort images when you re-upload them and therefore most of the time transparent/semi-transparent watermarks get warped and invisible... I'm not comfortable with that.
Some people may not care but I do, more so when it's commissioned pieces that these people are taking and using for RP characters, which is what about 90% of the stolen/altered pieces were in these last few incidents.
Look, I don't mind people sharing my work, posting it other places to show it to others, but credit must be given and the image CANNOT be altered in anyway from it's original state.
This is something people don't seem to get... mostly the 'credit must be given' part.
Hey, it's my artwork. I spent

Humans stop suckingI usually dont write about this stuff but seeing it all over the internet has really started boiling my blood like crazy. Im sure you all know about the little bastard Elliot Rodgers who thought he had the right to go gun down those girls, what pisses me off more than anything else is those who defend the shit he pulled. Depression, bullied, asperger's or what ever other fucking excuses there making up is a damn joke, he was nothing more than a little stuck up rich boy bitching because he couldnt get things his way. Claiming hes the alpha? supreme? has some right to a woman's body as if its his right? fuck that, 'rotting in loneliness'? Ha! its just really Fucking stupid that people treat him as a Hero against feminist...and typical it all gets turned on the woman for not giving him what he wanted then those people would be alive, hell forbid they get a choice huh? Humanity just gets shittier by the year...yea i know there are some awesome dudes out there, i know aHumans stop sucking8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Hope In Humanity Rises One PointA friend of mine decided to share a rather interesting story with me. So, I wish to share this with you.Hope In Humanity Rises One Point2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yes, this is another How much we hate the Westboro Baptist Church story. But I think you might like it.
This is the WBC vs. Tennessee Rednecks!
Well, in Cocke County (stop laughing it's a real county here) the WBC decided to drive to a military funeral, ready to do their stupid shit of protesting and saying "God hates Fags" and "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "AIDS cures Fags". And all the other hateful shit that we normally hear from their stupid hate-spewing mouths.
Well, apparently, the were met right at the boarder of Cocke County by a barricade of people, cars, trucks, and motorcycles. And in the hands of one of these people blocking the road was a man with a shotgun.
Well, one of the members of the WBC got out of the van and walked over to the people and said: "Move out of the way, we're supposed to be protesting in your coun
So I was just stopped by a cop....I wasn't driving. I was walking. He drives up, rolls down the window, and says something I don't quite hear. I say hello. He repeats it. "How old are you?"So I was just stopped by a cop....2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm in shock. I ask, "How OLD am I?"
"I'm 29!!" (I'm sure I sounded incredulous.)
I say, "I have my license if you want to see it." He wants to see it so I give it to him. He looks and hands it back.
He thought I was a highschool truant.
The moral of the story is that I should stop wearing clothing a teenager might wear because as I continue to get older and not to age it will become more and more unbelievable that I am as old as I say I am and I don't look forward to being driven in the back of a police car to the nearest high school, in tears BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY DONE MY TIME!

Sorry for not being so active on Deviant Art! I've mainly been animating Space Face part 2 these last couple of days!
And it's going to take a while for it to be done... x_x
You should check out 'Paranorman' sometimes. It's been in theater for a while now and it's fantastic!
You don't get alot of stop-motion animated films these days. It's quite impressive.
Also, I have a Tumblr. For who ever cares...
Anyway... I Better go draw some more frames....

Commissions - Paypal/USD and PointsAnyone who orders will be kept on a spreadsheet document in Microsoft Excel, stating your name, how much you paid, what type of commission you ordered, and the link of your commission. So do not fret, I will keep a history of my commissioners.Commissions - Paypal/USD and Points2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I take payments for USD, Deviantart points, and even a combination of payments, so keep that in mind as well.
I will watermark the commissions (it's not obnoxious) until payment is given at the end. I ask that you pay me when I'm done, and then I will remove the watermark and you will happily receive your art in all its glory! This way you have no reason to worry about me running off with money, and I have no reason to worry about disappearing commissioners either.
I'll show you each step (sketch, flat colors, shading, etc.) and along the way, please let me know of any changes that must be made.
You can cancel safely without paying during the sketch phase, but if you cancel out on any further steps, you may have to pay either the full price or so
A Sweet Lesson On PatienceA NYC Taxi driver wrote:A Sweet Lesson On Patience2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I honked again. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked.. 'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.
After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940's movie.
By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.
There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard
box filled with photos and glassware.
'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and
My Thoughts on Healthcare in America. One of the great, hidden atrocities I feel gets lost in all this healthcare hubbub is how ultimately disgusting it is that we allow corporations to profiteer off of people's health. Healthcare CEOs should not become multimillionaires by denying people coverage or lifesaving medical procedures. Healthcare CEOs should not build their mansions on jacked up rates that effectively force hardworking middleclass families into poverty or into suffering through horrible illnesses they can't afford treatment for. No working taxpayer or disabled vet or child in this country should ever have to face down the choice between dying or going broke and then dying anyway when they get rescinded because they forgot to dot an i or cross a t somewhere. There is something horribly wrong in this country when CEOs look at sick people and see dollar signs instead of fellow human beings in need to whom they owe a debt as part of the social contract we all agree to in American society. My Thoughts on Healthcare in America.1 year ago in Personal More Like This

I hope things are fine with all of you,
As you may have noticed, I have recently deactivated my account due to personal reason which had caused me really great distress and emotionally shattered, which had drastically changed my view about my drawing and pretty much anything else in this world, bitterly.
What came to my surprise was that, when I checked my email, the inbox is flooded with many emails from many of you and those whom i have corresponded outside DA, asking me to rethink and re-activate my account, persuading me not to abandon all the works that I have done over the past 1 year...
It really touched my heart to have received such treatment, even if I have personally never met many of you in real life. Apart from that, It's very fortunate that my friends, colleagues and family are there to support me in this rough time. Sometime I really wonder, whether life is fair for us? and yet, things like this showed me that when everything seems to clo

I will do my very best to keep this short (and hopefully organized), but I want everyone to really get a good feel for this and why it's so important.
*****This applies to both hobbyist and professional artists*****
I know that a lot of you do not do art for a living. You may do art as supplemental income, or maybe you do it strictly for fun. But I want to make something very clear to each and every one of you that does art: if you have the skills, no matter what you consider yourself in regards to the arts industry, make sure you are getting paid for the WORK you are putting in.
So to summarize a lot of what all the fuss with job posting is/was about.
In the job posting the OP is basically looking for the cheapest possible price they can get by way of 'barterin

So often, I get people asking for my secrets, praying to some god to give them what I have, asking me for my Photoshop brushes, joking that I must have sold my soul to Satan, that I must be cheating somehow, asking what programs I use in hopes that there is some magic "art button."
I'm sorry but...... No.
There are no secrets. No god and no devil had anything to do with it. There are no magic Photoshop brushes. There is no magic art button. There are no magic programs that will do the work for you. You can get Poser- some of the images that come out of it are lovely and if that makes you happy, fine. But if you want to do more than play with 3D paper dolls, to make your own art, to realize the wildest imaginings of your dreams exactly how you see them....

I found out like on thee day they posted their 'upgraded logo' that they'd (likely) just stolen/copied the logo of another site
and it's like PAHAHAHA, really?
I know I should be mad or disappointed but... I just can't be. It's just fucking hysterical when you get down to it. An art site...supposedly centered around community and sharing art...steals a logo from another art site?
Although... I doesn't much surprise me since you know, despite all the utter bullshit they've had going on with art theft among their members and such, why wouldn't they gank another site's logo? I mean who needs copyright or reserved rights, right?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh irony, you fickle fucker.
On a personal level I think the logo is rubbish. It's nothing but a 'z' with a line through it.
Is it a new minimalist phase or something?

WISDOM NUMBER THREE!!! Work smart and leave your comfort zone. This part is my qualifier for art school, tutorials, and educational resources in general, because they can be good, but only if you make them good. Once you've gotten in to the habit of drawing consistently, it's important to start being mindful of what you're drawing, how you're drawing it, and why you're drawing it. A key ingredient of success is hard work, but if that work isn't purposeful it might not move you

The Allure of a Red Dress
Maybe it’s being the color of blood that makes red such a strong color, especially when displayed in public. It is exotic–a matador’s cape, or a vampire’s, or a flamenco dancer’s skirts. Most women have their “little black dress” for evening’s out. Black tells no secrets. It’s on the occasion of the “red dress” that we suddenly wonder what’s on the someone’s mind.
The message of “red” in novels, films and music is passion barely controlled, of sexual temptation. It is a flashing warning light. Plastic surgery made John Dillinger

Manavata means “humanity.” A social movement was born in India bearing that name, with “Humanity is our identity” as their guiding mantra. Like the many facets making up a sparkling diamond, here is a collection of photographs to remind us we are, together, one beautiful humanity.
“If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.”
– John F. Kennedy
Paint OverThere’s a lot of bullshit out there, now more than ever, since the advent of crit-centric Facebook groups for artists. Bad advice is everywhere these days, and it serves as an entry-barrier, confusing and obstructing anyone looking to break-in. Where’s it all coming from, and what can we do about it? How can we preserve our new-found sense of community without incidentally cultivating the bullshit?Paint Over10 months ago in Personal More Like This
In my experience, bullshit critique is never malicious, and in the rare case that it is, you have my permission to write it off as trolling. No, as I see it there are really only two types of bullshit – I’m going to call the first typical bullshit, because we’re all familiar with it; typical bullshit is what happens when amateur artists waste time critiquing each other instead of studying. It’s much more common than benevolent bullshit, which is what happens when good artists fail to communicate. Benevolent bullshit sucks for so many reasons,

So this is proooooobably random and i dont usually post stuff like this...at all i think.
ive noticed/ or seen a lot of down artist out there lately that have been doubting themselves in there craft. Now i know it can be a pretty nasty little thing when it latches on and you don't think your work is good enough or no one will ever notice you or acknowledge your art....or some of the worse is when you think you cant make a living out of this type of work. One of the toughest things can be those your surrounded by adding to your doubts about what you can do, such as parents thinking you should get a "proper job" and stop wasting time (i think its a good thing to have on the side though and you can always make time) we've all hit those walls pretty hard and its a tricky bitch to get up again. I will say my father (also an artist) has never approved of my choice
