"The Pro Bending Finals are already here! After a grueling 3 month wait, due to a Spider-rat infestation in the arena, two teams will finally go head to head for the title of champions…" Shiro Shinobi's voice boomed through the arena.
Mako, Tahno, and Bolin were getting ready in their quarters. Bolin was clearly exited; but Mako was more eager to end this match. Asami finally had made the arrangements for their trip to the South Pole and they would leave as soon as the match ended. They would've left a few weeks ago but the match was postponed because of the stinkin spider rats! And believe it or not, Mako still lacked proper sleep. The Fire Ferrets get into the platform and step into the arena. They come face to face with their opponents, The Boar-Q-Pines. They get into position, and the bell rings. As soon as the bell rung Mako came after the Boar-Q-Pines with such intense ferocity. They could barely manage to stay on their feet. The bell rang again, the Fire Ferrets

Mako looked up, away from the newspaper he was reading, and stared at the jittered girl. "Asami, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, I- uh, Korra invited me over." She blurted out nervously.
"Um, okay? What are you holding?" Mako noted, referring to the white plastic bag in her hands.
Asami looked down. "Oh, this? It's nothing. So, where's Korra?"
"Oh, she's in our bedroom, I think."
Asami quickly dashed out of Mako's view into the bedroom. Mako was confused as to what was going on but quickly brushed it off thinking it was just some of their usual shenanigans.
"Korra, where are you?" Asami voiced in Korra's bedroom.
"I'm in here, Asami." Yelled Korra from the other end of the closed door that led into the bathroom. Asami walked into the bathroom where Korra was.
"So, did you get it? I've been drinking water all day and I'

The sun was setting in Republic City. Mako was down in the gym doing some firebending drills. Practice was done but Mako said he'd stay for a little while going over his drills. Tahno went back to his home and Bolin made plans for him and Asami to go out. Mako was exhausted but he couldn't do anything but practice. Lately he couldn't sleep much. Every night he would toss and turn on his bed and… nothing. He hasn't had a goodnights sleep in almost a week now. He would take short naps every now and then but he really needed to sleep. He assumed it was the championship and Korra's absence. Mako really wanted this championship to be over already so he could go to the South Pole finally hold her in his arms and tell her that he loves her and that he's never going to let her go. That's when he hears the door of the gym open. He hears Bolin whisper

It was a hot afternoon in Republic City. Year old Mako was running around the park playing tag with his younger brother. His mother and father were sitting down on a bench, watching their boys play. Mako stops running for a minute to catch his breath. But Bolin finally manages to catch his big brother. The boys laugh together for a bit. Then they fall quiet when they hear two men talking loudly.
"Did you hear? The Order of the White Lotus found the Avatar. Yeah a little 4 year old girl from the Southern Water Tribe…"
"Mako, what's and Avatar?" Bolin asked Mako.
Every time Bolin asked Mako something, he could always give him an answer. To Bolin, Mako was super smart and he knew almost everything. But this time Mako had no idea what an Avatar was.
"I don't know Bo. Better ask mom and dad." Mako answered.
Mako took his brother's hand and walked over to their parents. His mother and father were smiling, holding hands, laughing, and looking deeply into eyes. You know

Days of practice went by and Mako and Korra fought. Mako would always start off the argument with how she shouldn’t be playing; that it wasn’t safe. And Korra would launch back and glare at him; he swore if those eyes could shoot fire, he would have been dead already. Although they argued, and she always won, Mako couldn’t rid himself of the bothersome feeling he had held within himself for nearly a week. Her decision to play was worrisome, but her decision to abort the baby was far more concerning.
Korra seemed so adamant about playing that he began to second guess his concerns. Maybe Korra really had thought things through and was completely prepared to give up this child to the spirit world. Still, the team captain could see that same forced demeanor in everything his waterbender did. Granted, it was a little bit harder to see when she was bending. However, he could tell by how flatfooted and distracted she was that her head wasn&

It was a particularly sunny morning it he South Pole, much to Korra's displeasure. She thought that she could sleep in for the day, but the sun clearly had other plans. Monkey feathers! Korra sits up from her bed and looks around for Naga. She wasn't there. Korra was getting worried; Naga has been missing for a week or so. Korra got up and went over to the living room. Maybe she could find her mother or her father and ask them about her missing polar bear dog. Korra found her father sitting down and having some tea.
"Hey sweetheart, good morning!" Tonraq greeted.
"Hi daddy, um have you seen Naga around by any chance?" Korra asked.
Tonraq put his tea down and started thinking.
"Hm, no. Now that you mention it I haven't seen her for a week now…"
Korra got visibly worried now. Who knows what could've possibly happened to her. Korra couldn't even think about something bad happening to her beloved pet and best friend.

Tenzin enjoyed his mornings. He had a set routine to most of them, and ravished in every second of the organization of his early schedule. But his morning went south when he found that Korra wasn’t in her room.
At first, the older man had assumed the waterbender had gone to the bathroom. When he hadn’t heard her blowing chunks in there, he went to the meditation pavilion- perhaps the Avatar had gotten a head start on her training this morning. But she wasn’t there. He scanned all of her favorite places on the island. He came to the terrible conclusion that she must have run off in the middle of the night.
It would be Tenzin’s luck, however, that he wouldn’t be granted the time to worry about where his pupil went. Instead he was told councilman Tarrlok was at the front of the temple and requested to see Tenzin.

Mako went up to the ship's deck, hoping to find Bolin and Asami. He was in a surprisingly good mood. Well, who wouldn't be? He just had a good night's rest and an amazing dream. He was relaxed and content. Asami and Bolin were looking at the ocean; he was holding her in his arms. Mako cleared his throat, gaining both his brother's and his brother's girlfriend's attention. They noticed the smile on Mako's face.
"Hey guys." Mako greeted.
"Sounds like you slept well." Asami noted.
"Yeah, and I had a pretty amazing dream too!" Mako exclaimed.
"Yeah? What was it about? Was it about Korra?" Bolin asked nudging Mako's ribcage.
"What was it about?" Asami asked.
"Well it was about something that happened a long time ago. Family, Week 3 I woke up early the next morning, earlier than I usually did after a "fun" night with Mako. I was a bit groggy coming out of my sleep, but when I woke, I noticed I was in the same position as I was when I fell asleep: an arm draped across Mako's broad bare chest, a leg in between his, my head lying on his thick shoulder. I smiled to myself before carefully getting up and tip-toeing to the bathroom, stark naked. Mako never woke up.Family, Week 32 years ago in Settings More Like This
In there, I threw on a white tank top and panties. In the cabinet, I took out three pregnancy tests that I kept hidden. I didn't want to look at them everyday when I wasn't getting pregnant. Maybe today was riding on luck...maybe I'll see those double pink lines.
I couldn't believe it the first time, so I took the other two tests, and they all gave me the same answer. A smile so wide you could see it from behind lit my features and I almost cried. We've been trying for so long

You were walking down the great halls of the DWMA after school, hand-in-hand with your best friend, Soul Evans, who was acting as chill as usual. You frowned inevitably, because you knew it didn't mean the same to him, and it probably never would. He would probably never figure out how you felt for him, even if it hit him plain in the face; he was just "too cool" to pay attention to anything.
Your grip tightned reflexively, and he looked your way, his red irises meeting yours in a questioning glance.
"You okay?" he asked in a deep voice, squeezing your hand back in response.
"Uh-huh," you choked out, giving him a fake smile.
It was no use; he knew you too well. He saw right through your facade and asked again.
You sighed and looked away from his worried face, a slight reddish tint on your fair cheeks. Why couldn't he realize what he was doing to you? You wished he would either just tell you whether he liked you or not, so you could just stop hurting.

"No." Tenzin leaned forward at his desk. "No. No-no." He stroked his beard out of habit and shifted to his side a bit. "I'm afraid she's too sick for that." Tenzin stared at his wooden desk as Tarrlok kept jabbering nonsense on the other side of the line. The airbender pulled the phone away from his ear for a moment to let out an audible sigh. "The flu," Tenzin answered back. "It's running longer than expected. She'll be seeing a doctor." The older man tried his best to bite back a piece of his mind. "Today sometime." Not like it was any of Tarrlok's business when the Avatar was going to be visited by a practitioner. "I'm afraid you'll have to do without her until she gets better. And even then she still won't agree to rejoin." After a few more moments of Tarrlok's smooth talk, Tenzin ended the conversation with, "Well good luck to you then," and hung up.
The airbender sighed loudly and rested his head in his hands. He just didn't understand why Tarrlok coul

She dreaded going back home. Once the house had been fully searched, the underground tunnel fully excavated, and the paper work had been filed, Asami Sato was permitted to go back to her lonely estate.
This time there would be no father waiting at home for her. This time there would be no butlers. This time she would come home to an empty mansion full of broken dreams and buried memories. But that was fine by her; the memories could rot in the spirit world for all she cared.
Asami walked the halls, her footsteps slow and heavy with each movement of her long legs. The morning light leaked through the undraped windows- having never been covered since her father flocked to Amon's side. A week later, the Avatar found herself perched on her bed with yet another predicament in front of her.
The waterbender sighed and swallowed the dry lump in her throat. Licking her lips, she looked down at the notebook in her lap, then out the window, and then back to the parchment-bound book. She twirled the pen in her dark fingers, but it never made contact with the paper.
Korra beat the end of the pen against her leg and took a deep breath. She supposed she could be blunt in telling her parents; it had worked for her with everyone else. (Well, maybe not.) But she felt that being blunt in the form of a letter would be inappropriate. Not only would it give off the wrong vibe – she imagined one of fear and indifference- but it would leave her parents with so many questions. She wouldn't be there to explain everything to them in person, so they would have to wait days to receive a response from her. She really didn't want her parents to sit on a mound of c

Never had the arena looked so intimidating. Usually when one looked upon it they were awestruck and filled with excitement. At night it glowed like a heavenly being, while in the day it stood as a golden monument of community. But for the first time Korra had never felt so put off by the building. It seemed as though it were too big and too obnoxiously golden for her eyes to take in. If that wasn’t enough, she couldn’t really hear the all of the buzz around her; she was far too engulfed by the building and what awaited her inside to open her ears.
Korra felt queasy once again, but this time she knew it wasn’t because of the blossoming life inside of her. Tonraq sat at the edge of the cliff, staring at the ocean. He has been sitting there, in the same position for about 2 hours. 2 hours ago his daughter told him that she was pregnant. All he could think about was Korra. The first time he held her in his arms, when she took her first steps, the first time he took her out to hunt, when she found out she was a waterbender, when she accidentally set the rug on fire with her firebending, when she was taken away by the Order of the White Lotus, when she came over to say goodbye because she was moving to Republic City to finish her training. All of his thoughts always ended in Korra telling him she was pregnant. How could this have happened? She's just a kid. A kid having a kid. But she wasn't just that, she was his little girl…

An easy-going breeze was flitting through the streets and dancing with the ocean, but so far the storm it brought remained dormant, and the city still stayed alive with the droning sounds of cars and idle chatter.
