free time during work = drawing time. this is a doodle on my not-so-used planner then i became too happy with it i decided to color it. i started coloring this in photoshop since it's the only software i have in my office pc that can color decently hahaha
thank you for the wonderful brushes that made me felt like i was almost in painter. yay multiple layers and clipping masks!
I got into Persona 4 last year when I was staying at a friend's place and they got me terribly hooked on the game (though I had to stop just when I had gotten to Kanji's bathhouse!). Started watching the anime one episode a week this year and recently finished, and man, these characters are addictive.
I love them all, but Naoto is by far the coolest, and thankfully I had no spoilers! Naoto's Shadow? Even better. X3 The thing is, all the Shadows are waaaay cooler than the Personas! In fact, a lot of the Personas, in my humble opinion, look pretty lame. In Naoto's case, I was especially disappointed--a classic detective in the little boy shorts, ungh, but... but... A FLY!!? Seriously!?
I'm so shallow about my Persona 4 fandom. XD Still, pleased I finally did some fanwork, however simple. I thought of all kinds of captions for this, but I hope it leads you all to your own interpretations. ^__^ (My pairing preference, I hope, should be obvious!)
The one on the left belongs to His full concept, symbolism & explanations can be found here in Hime-chan's deviation --> [link] This Shadow also had a major role in her fanfic. It had a cool concept, so be sure to check it out~ --> [link]
The one on the right is my version ^^ Concept & symbolism explanations here:
Representation: Hidden wishes
There's something that you wanted so much. Day and night you secretly wished for it, all the time knowing that you can't have it. From fear that everyone would laugh at you, you keep those wishes hidden and buried inside, never voiced out. After awhile, you started losing your mind from it.
...Grant my wishes...
Behavior: - Ready to do just about anything to get what he wants. - Usually found continuously making white paper cranes.
Symbolism: - paper cranes = hopes to make wishes come true - has a traditional, shrine-like dungeon (shrines are one of the most common places where people go to to make wishes)
Design: - I mainly stick to Izanagi's design elements :3 - following the symbolism, stuff are made to look traditional, added with shrine ropes & bells on the naginata.
Extra note: Since I actually have 2 more versions of Shadow Souji, I give each one of them a different name for the sake of differentiation / so they don't get mixed up >_>" Just for reference, the one here is called Tsuruji (鶴寺) 鶴 (tsuru) --> crane 寺 (ji) --> temple
something spontaneous and random. i haven't been this spontaneous for a long time. random because i had no idea where to go with this piece except for one: summer. i wasn't even sure which side up should the image be, i went with upside-down so that my gallery would have something different.
"kili-kiling kay kinis" came up when i was thinking of a title
I've been wanting to try this meme for a long time, but had difficulty choosing which pairing of mine was the most shameful while still being entertaining enough to do a meme about. Keep in mind that I spend about 90% of what I draw leaves me feeling deeply ashamed (and my interests, opinions, and appearance) - So I get the feeling I don't have the healthiest concept of shame.
I drew it in the style of someone whose sanity is slowly disintegrating! Yay!
So I started with Kanji/Teddie because I thought it would be perfect for the meme: there are canon hints but it's quite out there pairing-wise, but at the same it's cute and fluffy enough that it makes it entertaining fodder for the meme. Also there is a lot made of Kanji trying to stroke Teddie's fur in the game, which just screams "shameful pairing meme" to me.
Kanji -> [link] is a tough-guy who has a secret weakness for cute animals (he knits plushies) Teddie -> [link] is... well, he's sort of a talking plush toy that became real so he could 'score with the chicks' (but he doesn't seem picky, getting Kanji to 'smooch' him and saying endless things that indicate he has a crush on Yu, our main character)
You can probably see why I ship them... I didn't see it coming either but that's the beauty of crack ships. This is not the most shameful thing from P4 that I ship, but it's up there. And it's the funniest (I think)
