Fan-art from: L.Ravenscroft "How to Draw and paint Fairies"
________________________ ENG Drawing took from the book "How to Draw and paint Fairies", wrote by Linda Ravenscroft. Realized with colored pencils.
I dind't copy exactly the picture, I modified the fairy's face and the mushrooms where she's leanin' against. I hope I succeeded to keep fairy's body anatomicly correct and proportioned (too short legs... i know it... ).
Rarely I colour my drawing with pencils and I guess you can notice it, and I was also using medium-low quality pencils.
A dark fairy of the Unseelie court. This painting went in a completely different direction than I'd originally intended. I started with the thought of sketching an angel, and then this happened. lol I do like surprises sometimes.
6 x 8" watercolor and white gouache.

Note: False Hellebores (aka Veratrum album, Veratrum Virde, Corn Lily) are a completely different species of flower than Black Hellebores (Helleborus niger) that I did as #1 in this series. Both are toxic. They have similar names, but aren't related at all.
