My entry for this weeks Trinquette Challenge, organised by the great Alberto Ruiz. Missed the deadline, but thought I'd better post it here as a reminder that space can be a lot more dangerous than you realise. And requires a far less bulky dress code than previously thought.
Pencil sketch, painted in photoshop. No astronauts were harmed during the making of this picture.
EDIT: Just thought I'd better explain WHAT the Trinquette challenge is:
the moderator posts a photo which all entrants use as the inspiration/pose for their illustration. For example: The amazing Serge Biraults entry : [link] The Talented Ben Tan's entry: [link] (obviously he likes retro space stuff too )
You know what ? I will do a comic book this year I'm working with a very good sript writer : Olivier Dobremel a.k.a Dobbs ([link]). Here's the concept for the first (but not the main) character. Once again, Maria Gibson ([link]) is my model The next one soon ^o^
I've done a small tutorial for fast PVC/vinyl material on my blog here : [link]
Caricature of Vamp Nadine ([link]) I started a loooong time ago Probably one of the most "clean" cg work I ever made. I tried to have an 80's airbrush rendering. Thanks a lot to our french airbrush master, Hubert de Lartigue ([link]) for his advices for the face. Done with Photoshop.
