The Mica: Apoptosis Demo (Version 1.0) has been released!
The demo is around 2 hours long. Warning: May contain triggering content, not suitable for children.
You have the power to split the world into half. You can destroy buildings, overturn mountains…
But you are still powerless against a human.
Even a human who wants to kill you.
Hey, isn’t that ironic? Isn’t that funny?
… Why aren’t you laughing, Mika-chan?
Lenine lives in a huge palace as the most trusted servant of Princess Micaiah, the only place of beauty remaining in a desolate, destroyed ghost city. Everything is perfect – the food is good, the job is good, life is good. As long as nobody leaves this palace of salvation, there is no need to dwell on the horrors that lie beyond these walls.
Until one day, a mysterious stranger arrives… to teach these content souls the true price of perfection.
Mica: Apoptosis is an RPG-style horror game about a web of delusions, a life of blissful ignorance, and the monstrous depravity that human beings can fall to in the name of love and admiration. The gruesome, revolting truth hidden behind the guise of a pretty, charming little lifestyle. Explore the game through three very different main characters with three very different perspectives, and tell your story as you believe it to be.
So powerful, yet so fragile… your life is like a candle, ready to be snuffed between my fingers.
I can slowly strangle you to death, and you can’t even flail to defend yourself.
You’re so funny, Mika-chan.
Mica: Apoptosis focuses on the experiences of three very stricken people, who are closer than they think, yet vastly different. And when things start changing, they begin their journeys on parallel lines, separated from one another.
Princess Micaiah, who owns a grand castle in the woods, hidden from the terrifying thing called human society;
Lenine, her loyal servant, who is separated from her at the most crucial time and sees the world in a frighteningly different way;
and Himeya Mika, a young girl who chances upon the castle one day, and finds it empty and desolate, yet full of fear…
This is their story.

Meet Juris Lowe, a bright and charming first-year law student. He also happens to be a little nuts.
Having been Cash’s friend ever since preschool, he has always been hanging out with her, discussing the finer points of government economic policies. She also happens to know all his slightly odd habits, such as his propensity to go stabby-stabby with certain people.
But if you can look past his murdering habit, I’m sure we can be good friends! I think…?
He has no affiliation whatsoever with those weirdos from Crimson Rafflesia

For earlier development updates on this visual novel, check the Cash vs Yandere Development Blog!
Cash vs Yandere is a satirical, black comedy, yandere survival otome game. Help Midori "Cash" Kashuu, a normal Economics freshman, survive her first few weeks of college and try to live as a normal fresher, when two crazy murderous yanderes are after her blood.
Time to meet one of the
perfectly sane and not completely batshit insane oh who am I kidding slightly morally dubious eligible bachelors from Cash vs Yandere!
And by “eligible bachelor”, I mean more like “crazy enemy you must avoid at all costs”.
Dalen was a schoolyard bully that our protagonist Cash knew from grade school, who has reformed his bullying ways and become a fairly decent guy. Maybe. He spent two years before going to college serving the army as a combat medic, and he wears a lab coat everywhere and claims to love helping people. He has a crass demeanor, is pretty impatient, and still spends quite a lot of time throwing snarky comments at Cash.
He doesn’t seem too bad, but you might want to be careful when treading around him if you want to live. He has a bit of an uncanny interest in blood. And the colour red. And the effects of different drugs on the human body.
Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

Alright, so while I do have my hands full with college, Mica: Apoptosis and Crimson Rafflesia, I recently realised that I’m simply incapable of producing enough brain juice to work constantly on a huge project unless I have a separate small ‘inspiration’ project to go along with it. Since Dear Mariko, Ribbon of Green, RE: Prince of Nigeria and Six Rules have already been released, I decided to start on a new little niche.
You can sort of consider this a sequel to RE: Prince of Nigeria, because it’s going to be just as serious. Which means not very serious at all.
CASH VS YANDERE: My murderous friends won’t leave me alone!</b>
I’m in college now. A new, fascinating environment in a new country, away from all the baggage of my past…
… Except that two of my friends came along, too. And they have this trait of being just a little mentally unstable.
Oh, what a bother…
Midori “Cash” Kashuu is an Economics freshman with a bright future, but now she is literally fearing for her life. Two boys, both her childhood friends, just happened to end up in the same university as her, and both of them are completely, utterly, and hopelessly in love with her. Which isn’t so bad. Except they both have this bad habit of stalking, murder and general creepiness, which involves cutting up any boys she talks to, each other if she ever shows one of them just a bit more affection than the other, and even her if she ever tries to drift away from them…
Geez, and I was hoping to survive college, too.
* 15+ Death Endings
* 3 Good Endings
* 1 True Ending
* You can get a boyfriend while you’re at it
* Or a girlfriend
* The yanderes won’t be happy, though.
This game is pretty much going to be some kind of ‘anti-otome’ black comedy, in the sense that you have to interact with the boys, but not to date them, instead to make sure that you give them equal attention such that they feel sufficiently appreciated not to murder your ass. It’s going to be a bloody Friday.
If this project kicks off well, I might open a new Tumblr blog for this so as to not spam the Mica updates!
