Guys. GUYS. WE MADE IT. We made it with wonderful and we made it in time I feel the urge to laugh, cry and die quietly in my corner of wardrobe.
I've never done anything so big, no, HUUUUGE, and these two weeks turned into crazy try to hurry up, while awfully slowpoking. I think if I had 3 weeks or a month or two, I still wouldn't make this monster in all its glory. That's me.
As you can see, this isn't flash but html scripts (ahaha I have no idea how they work). Rachel just offered me to do something flashless and her offer happened in the very nick of time. I don't even know if I'd manage alone again, some places of this thing were killing me and I barely had time to draw everything. Although I'm still not sure all bugs are fixed and we'll maybe update this thing later and hrtpasgfsdfg excuse me I'm done.
Only one flash (flash this time I think, it's small and easy) up to go, the last in this chapter and perhaps for a loong time!
man, what category is this?..
If you can't find the password, don't worry, it's the least important thing there. ...somebody please remind me why I needed that password at all. -------------------
"May I ask your name?" "I am General Jinjur," was the brief reply. "Oh!" said the boy surprised. "What sort of a General?" "I command the Army of Revolt in this war," answered the General, with unnecessary sharpness. "Oh!" he again exclaimed. "I didn't know there was a war." "You were not supposed to know it," she returned, "for we have kept it a secret; and considering that our army is composed entirely of girls," she added, with some pride, "it is surely a remarkable thing that our Revolt is not yet discovered."
Jinjur will never stop being hilarious One of my favourite Baum's characters
So I've made silhouettes of all OZ characters that are more or less important for the story GOTTA DRAW 'EM ALL. Except for Quadling and Munchkin, they're big boys. (That awkward moment when you realize your universe has gotten huge) In case you're looking at them and wonder who're these people and why you don't remember them being in the first three books, don't worry: I've changed a lot, some characters are renamed, some are mixed together, some only slightly remind of their prototypes or completely belong to me. (Just to make it clear: first row are the rulers, second row first group - BBR protagonists, second group - storyline from the 'Marvelous Land of Oz', third row - the Winged Apes, fourth - Leslie's family, the last one - other freaks :'D That division doesn't mean anything though, all OZ storylines are tied together closely) Anyway, drawing silhouettes is funny, and it's a useful reference for me 'u' Of course these aren't the final concepts, but at least I'll be able to be guided by other guys' shapes.
I thought once, looking at lots of different Winged Monkeys, it must be quite sad that they're always depicted as a crowd without personality and background. I mean, yeah, they've told Dolly their story and that they were 'too full of mischief', but for me they seemed to be evil identical minions, while actually it's really interesting characters that only were forced to be that destructive. If Monkeys are a political allegory, I guess people are supposed to sympathize with them. To help this I don't draw an army of weird creatures, but rather a small family of someone who look like humans, but still are treatened by the Witches like animals x)
