well this one was a challenge, I had no idea I would ever be able to do ANYTHING close to this one with my left hand, and it's done freehanded with a ball point pen because one of our dogs destroyed the only pencil I could use without my cts going crazy...
so yeah, I am pleased and a bit impressed by the fact that I could make this!
...the coloring ain't that great though but WOAH is it hard coloring with your non dominant hand???
Part of an illustration done for my next full color sketchbook "Printemps", with my OC named Diurne. I tried a mix of watercolor and photoshop >_o The result is not exactly what I hoped to get but I guess I just have to keep on trying /o/
Done on Arches watercolor paper with Schmincke/Sennelier watercolors and Photoshop CS5.
So, hi...it's been a while since I posted on here...
Basically I've been busy with school lately so I haven't even bothered to try to get anything posted on here...I'm an art major so that takes up a lot of my free time.
Anyways, it's been forever since I've drawn and posted a picture of my OC Elijah (almost two years!), so I thought maybe I'd post him since the other pictures I have of him in my gallery are pretty...ugh. This time around I really tried to nail down some features of him so I'd get a good idea of what I wanted him to look like, so I think I did okay. He's easier to write for if I have a good mental picture of him. He’s a steampunk inventor / clockmaker / genius / badass / actual cutie.
Name: Elijah James Miller Age: 25 Birthdate/place: December 12, 1870, Canterbury, England Hometown: London, England Occupation: Clockmaker/inventor Eyes: Blue Hair: Brown, black tips Height/weight: 6’1, 205lbs
Likes: reading, working on inventions and clocks, spending time with Alessandra (the main character of my story), playing piano, cooking
Dislikes: digital clocks, loneliness, ignorance, people who don't believe in him Quick bio: Elijah is a inventor, clocksmith, and certifiable genius in late Victorian era London. By day he sees clients in his shop on the outskirts of London and fixes their pocket watches, clocks, and jewelry pieces, but by night he locks himself away in his study and works on the creation of a working time machine. His plans go awry, however, and he and his friend Alessandra Wright are accidentally thrust over a century into the future, seemingly by his unfinished time machine. With no absolute way of getting back to his own era, he sets out to perfect time travel in a desperate attempt to return things back to normal. Elijah is best described as “cunning” and “endearingly mad”. He’s eccentric and very intelligent. However, he can be shy at times and, underneath his sometimes exuberant nature, he is very self-conscious of himself. He's gentlemanly, but not at all pompous.
Elijah was drawn in mechanical pencil, inked with brown Micron pens, and colored with a mixture of Prismacolor and Copic Sketch markers.
EDIT: I changed the picture a little. I entered it in an art contest for school and I added the watercolor splatters in back to make in look more finished, more wild.
