Embrace the StarsStand in the warm glow
That rains so lightly upon
The cold, glittering snow
Before that star is gone
Shelter from the cold night
Until the brilliant dawn
The return of the soothing light
Of which we've grown so fond
Too often, the more distant stars
Go, in our ignorance, forgotten
They're away from us, so very far
But from them, are our lives begotten
The Music of the Spheres
Is audible to attentive ears
Listen to that magnificent symphony
That of the vast, dark eternity
Burning Orb of Luminescent Glory
Eclipse the whole of the human story
Lashing out with tongues of fire
Trivialize all human passion and desire
Stars are within us
As we are but a small part
Of the Forever All;
The Wonderful Universe

And haunted by the thoughts of you
This is for you hun'
Your face is smiling at me
A fake, ghost-version of your old beautiful smile
Teasing me with what could have been
What I could have had
Those bright blue eyes look at me
But the sparkle is gone
Now they're just the eyes of a stranger
I watched you dissappear
I stood by and saw you fade away
Only a ghost is left of the old you
There was nothing I could do
So this is for you my dear
I'm holding you oh so tight
Fighting to bring you back to life
I'm falling asleep with tears in my eyes
These teardrops fall for you
This is all for you my love

clumsy in speech,
always just short of discreet.

The cold of iron and tin and copper

The yearning to read trembling lips.
The passion to remember.

The will to listen.

Some nights I find you in my dreams,
Those dreams I never want left behind,
I can't get rid of you it seems,
But I could never want to,
No matter how hard I try,
What would I be without you?
I would be a lie,
You're a part of me,
And until the day I die,
You will forever be,
You'll always be mine,
You're one I'll never regret,
Even when the sun loses its shine,
Promise me you'll never forget...
The Downward DanceDeathThe Downward Dance4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
is implied and revealed every year
during the season when
living things close up within themselves
so tight, as if to keep warm
only they grow even colder in the process,
and losing color.
Then I saw a couple
curled around each other
in a last embrace
as if they were holding on to
the one thing worth living for
yet it didn't restrain the impending darkness
from encircling them together
- or is it light?
Who can say death is darkness?
What if it's not?
There is a certain bleakness to the
traditions of the season, yet also
an irrefutable beauty.
They seem to dance and twirl
as they fall,
some even sparkling
in their last rays of sunshine.
These final motions are very unusual and
new to them.
slow, steady growth of moist, fresh green.
And they live their lives
holding to the same familiar position
Until finally the wind touches them,
bestowing freedom but also condemnation-
Then they join in the dance
of bright colors,
twirling happily downwards

Cross my heart and pull the trigger
Feel that heartbeat with regrettable rage
Time heals not all but nothing with age
Indebt and in-depth with unthinkable sorrow
Today's pain will end but there's always tomorrow.
For time to fester in filth and compliance
Can't trust the heart with unsteady reliance
Bad thoughts can stay and steal and scar
With wounds and few words that go so far
Wait till I heal, inhale and then
Tear it down, and scream again.

As heaven is to Earth,
A painted cloudy paradise
Inspired by human dearth.
Flawless is the pole star
Leading man to fabled land,
Still distant the Polaris
From man's conceited hand.
Yet perfection's only flaw
That it will never know,
Perfection appears resplendent
Draped in fault's shadow.

Red on the SandRed on the sandRed on the Sand6 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
It blows and swirls like grass in the wind
Cracked ivory towers, tired and tattered
Bending the hairs on my eyelids
Dizzy and empassioned, I walk up the wall
Sitting in the corner, I scrape and roll
Closing my ears to their stares
Their narrow, twisted wrath
It rails me like glass
Red on the sand, green in my eyes
Patting the water as it breezes my cheek
Cool and soft as curtains of cotton
Soot covered blossoms of silver and lime
Peeling my thoughts with chisel and ice
Curvy sharpness hidden in wax
Melting with flames and honey
It drips from my lips
Red on the sand, gold in the clouds
The lone dark freezes my song
Ripping tears from my pulse and
Splattering my dreams again and again
Crisp and jagged and silent
My single thought torn to the ground
Grass folding with my breath
Choking until I am gone
Everything, now, and never.Everything happens all around you. It is all a blur, all a regurgitated notion, until you are the recipient. Until you are the centre of the chaos. Then it is surreal, then it is too real to understand, too real to really know, because you have never been the centre of gravity. You are insignificant, and mean very little to the world, in it's entirety. When you are at the centre of death, emotion, chaos and effect, you tend to acknowledge life for what it is. A fleeting moment, tainted in memory. You try to hold on, when there is nothing tangible, you try and understand, when perception flew into the black hole of existence, right before your eager, fool-ridden eyes.Everything, now, and never.1 year ago in Emotional More Like This

A language that everyone speaks.
But one that we are not able to hear.
A place where emotions and abandonment meet.
Of which we are forced to confront our buried fears.
There are no more lessons that the agents of society can teach.
An infinite amount of words expressed through a solitary tear.
People dish out advice but never practise what they preach.
A language with the same traits as a hopeful prayer.
A society where people judge others, as they sit back in their self proclaimed seats.
They can no longer understand you and they aware of the darkness that draws near.
Many lives led but we are all accompanied by the same drumbeat
Maybe you don't want to be heard but people will forcefully lend an ear.

A Steampunk Story: Iron Heart~ Jennica Marie LimA Steampunk Story: Iron Heart4 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
There was a town ruled by machines and dusts,
where the midnight air smells of oil and rust.
In the heart of that town you would faintly hear,
every night the faded clamour of steel and gears.
The curious sound is from a scruffy house,
limping in the middle of a sleepy town it rouse,
With brilliant flicker of light and spark,
that casts eerie shadows in the dreary dark.
And in that home lives an ingenious man,
who creates wondrous things with his hands.
He can make bolts, cogs and brass collide,
with a twist of the wrench they become alive.
From talking computers and flying wings,
to a walking bed and automated swings.
The inanimate heap of useless things,
on his crafty hands they dance and spring.
But the greatest invention he had ever made,
was a life like splendour of beautiful maid.
With hands so gentle, and skin so pale,
and eyes that glimmers behind the sooted veil.
What drove a mind to create such a thing?
it was love consumed by pains within.
Compelled by a
