And now I'm finally posting semi-finalists from our contest Paint my OC. Judges and even I was busy lately, so I hope you'll understand why they needed some time to make their decisions (after all... there was so many amazing entries). And I think it's time to finish this contest. All prizes you can check in this article. I hope I'll post winners tomorrow, so you won't have to wait too long.
What homework judges hadWell, each judge had to choose 8 semi-finalists from each category (there was drawing category and painting/coloring category). Here in the journal I posted top 10 drawings/paintings which got most votes, from each category (paintings in journal are not in order from many to less votes...it's random).

Big Weekly Features!Uni's keeping me really busy and it's only going to get worse, but I'm trying to work at least bit by bit on new art. Hope to submit a new ACEO in the next couple of days.Big Weekly Features!1 month ago in Art Features More Like This![]()
Big Weekly Features! The newest GoT ACEO progressing very slowly even though the ref doesn't look nearly as full with details as all the other ones so far. As mentioned, slowly moving this project aside for now. This year's been pretty "monotone": been drawing only graphite miniatures with the exception of one normal sized Supernatural fanart and decided to, depending on how much the uni, lack of time, energy, motivation, etc. allows, to fill the rest of the year with completely different drawings - in size, medium used, subject, to add some variety to this year and the gallery in general.Big Weekly Features!9 months ago in Art Features More Like This

And I'm back for the feature... oh my, I wasn't here for almost 2 weeksSorry cuz of that, but I have to make ton of stuff for college, so I probably won't be here that much in next upcoming weeks. So I hope you can also wait for my new stuff which I draw (a little slowly...I paused process cuz of school

A brief history of FellaWe all know Fella. If you have been a member of deviantArt for at least 1 day it's quite probable you've encountered him at least once, he's everywhere! And this shouldn't come as a surprise, he's dA's mascot after all! But how much do you know about him? Let's take a look at a Brief History of deviantART's mascot.A brief history of Fella1 month ago in Editorials More Like This
Fella was brought to life thanks to `switched, who designed him back in April 2001 for a mascot contest.
Back then he didn't look exactly as we know him today, his figure was a lot more basic and circular and his expression wasn't as human as we're used to today. However his main features remain, his mischievous look and his colors, most probably based on the site layout's at the time

Turn your digital photography into film-photo resembling pieces of art with these tips!
written by `miontre for Community Week in #projecteducate
Photo editing is fun. It gives you a chance to add something to your photos, and really bring out expressions you may or may have not realised were there. Lately, I've been obsessed with retro and vintage editing effects in my editing, to try and replicate film photographs. Of course, it's impossible to replicate actual film photos, but I think that's what makes it fun: you can do anything you want and it doesn't matter if it looks realistic or not. It's about artistic freedom, and enjoying yourself! I've found myself in a vast world of endless possibilities and I can't wait to continue and try new things. I've found that it's a difficult category to work in, since there's not such a large support community for it on deviantART, but I enjoy it nonetheless!
First up, let's take a lo

Sana is an enthusiastic member of the community who is loved by many. She joined deviantART almost 6 years ago. She's a true inspiration for anyone who wants to be more involved around deviantART. Sana received seniority status in August last year, on top of that she alpha tests for dA over at #devBUG - which means she plays around with new features before Beta testers get to!

As every entry was in some way a collaboration between two or more people (and some entered more than once), that means about 35 people participated altogether. It was great to see so many people, often from different mediums and areas of the site come together to collaborate and create something together.
Thanks so much to every single participant

'dA Related shouldn't get DDs'Over my term as the deviantART Related volunteer (and even way before that) I've noticed that dA Related Daily Deviations tend to get some hate.'dA Related shouldn't get DDs'3 months ago in Community Relations More Like This
Past dA Related volunteers have always included what category each Daily Deviation they feature is in hoping it would reduce the amount of "wtf is this?" comments.
Here are some topics that I know have been addressed endlessly by various people, past and present, from the Community Relations team:
What is a Daily Deviation?
:faq61:
A daily deviation is a feature of a submission. Please note that 'masterpiece', 'artwork' and other words are not mentioned in that particular FAQ.
Another thing that is often misunderstood is the face that there is a volunteer for most galleries on deviantART. I can't feature from Digital Art, Traditional Art, Literature, Photography, etc; only from deviantART Related. In most cases, volunteers can only feature from one parent or sub gallery.

Movember is quickly coming to a close and the shave-off events are eagerly awaited by our Mo'Bros who have suffered through all sorts of mo-mishaps over the last 28 days. For those of you that have participated, I thank you and ask you to make the last two days really count and reach out to your friends and families for those last minute donations.
For the rest of you, I am making this final push on behalf of all of the deviantART Sta.sh teams to request that you reach into your pockets and make a donation, regardless of how big or small, to the Movember effort. I realize how hard this may be considering you're likely broke after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but should you find a dollar or two - we would greatly appreciate your donation
The amount isn’t important, every little bit helps Movember continue its funding of world-class programs. If you want to know more about what you’ll be helping to fund, you can visit

2004 - "British Takeover"
April Fool's Day 2004 marked the day the British took over deviantART. New rules were enforced on that day, including spelling "color", "colour" and saying "Cheers guv'nor" instead of "Thank You".

What's that?
The aim is to team up two artists to achieve a close and individual learning-experience.
One of the two will be the teacher, whereas the other will be the student. (But our teachers will learn through this project just as much, I'm sure)
Teachers will present assignments to their students and provide them with tools, techniques and lessons to achieve the goal they both decided on.
In the end we'll present all the finished assignments in a big chat event and on our group page!
There also might be prizes for Best TeamWork, Best Final Artwork and Strongest Improvement!
When's this?
The project consists of three major parts:The sign-up phase: Sun Mar 10 - Sun Mar 17
The TeamWork phase (3 weeks) Mon Mar 18 - Sun Apr 7
