War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch 13"FIRE!" Captain commanded.
I did as commanded, and fired. British men fell and died. I was horrified, and hated seeing death. The British commanded shouted the fire command to his men. Our front line went down as we reloaded. The Redcoats were able to get another shot. A bullet whizzed by my ear. Richie looked at me, obviously feeling it's wind, "You okay?" he asked. I nodded, "Great. Just a little shooken up is all," I replied. We aimed and fired again, but the British charged. We did the same. I killed Redcoat after Redcoat, blood staining my shirt and hair. I could care less. I would wash it all off later. Redcoats seemed to come from everywhere. I wasn't sure who was on who's team. I felt a jab through my shoulder, and yelled in pain. I was shoved to the ground quickly, and pinned. I looked up to see a Redcoat with a knife raised, about to drive it through me. He jerked suddenly, and fell to the side. Richie stood tall behind him with a smirk, "Need a hand bud?" he asked, ou
War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch 1"I can't believe this…" I said, rubbing my hand against my forehead. My mother sighed, tucking her brown hair behind her ears. She set a letter down on the table. You could tell she had been crying, because her eyes were puffy and watering, "I didn't want to believe it myself, Jackson. It's a tough blow on our family. Your uncle was a good man," she said, her voice barely passing her cherry lips. I nodded, "That he was… He was young too… Twenty-one right?"War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch 11 year ago in Settings More Like This
"He would be turning twenty-two tomorrow," she replied sadly. I leaned back in my chair, "I'll break the news to Pippa, alright? You need some time," I said. Mother nodded, knowing that Uncle Carson's death would be very tough on Pippa. She adored him. He was a hero to her. Mother got out of her chair, and walked to her room. The door shut and I could hear soft sobbing. I tugged my bangs out of my face as Pippa ran into the house. She had a grin on her face and a cat in her arms. That kid… always bringing
War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch4I gripped a rock in my hand, and pitched it as far as I could. Anger and pain filled every part of my being. Snow crunched under my feet. I tore roots out of the ground, broke branches, threw stones and rocks, and yelled. I was hurt and this was how I dealt with it. I had to let all of my emotion out some way. I wondered why nobody heard me. At the moment, I didn't care. Let them hear me. Let them judge me. I just had to get my anger out. After hours of yelling, my voice was nearly gone. I decided that was all I could let out, and headed home. Thankfully, I didn't run across Josephine on my way there. I will have to see her at church the next day though……War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch41 year ago in Settings More Like This
I stepped into the house, and slammed the door shut. Mother and Pippa jumped at the loud "BAM!" I ignored their stunned expression and stormed off to a closet. It wasn't the best place, but it worked. I threw the door open and crawled in. I slid it shut when I got comfortable in the small area. I hugged my knees ag
War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch3"Thanks again Josephine," I said to the young woman, nearly shouting over the large crowd that gathered for the feast. Pippa hid in my cloak and gripped my hand. Josephine smirked, "It's not a problem, Jack. Like I said before, we have to look out for each other in times like this," she replied. I smiled, "You can say that again," I said. She giggled, and put her hand over her mouth. She was kinda cute and funny. I chuckled, and looked at Pippa, "You okay kiddo?" I asked. She looked up at me and nodded, "I just don't like the big crowd," she replied. I put my hand on her back and smiled. She smiled back and leaned her head against my leg, still gripping my cloak. Josephine looked at Pippa, then back to me, "Little sister?"War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch31 year ago in Settings More Like This
"She'll be ten next month."
"How cute," Josephine kneeled in front of Pippa, "Hey little one. I'm Josephine," she said. Pippa nodded, "I know," she almost snapped.
"Manners! Her family welcome us here. Be nice," I scolded. Josephin
War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch 6"Are you sure about this?" Mother asked, outside of the Continental's camp. nodded and took a deep breath, "I'm sure. I have to do this. For you and Pippa. For our country. I'll miss you guys so much," I said, slightly choking up. Mother cried and hugged me. Pippa showed no emotion once again. I kneeled in front of her, "I love you. A bunch. Like, this much," I stretched my arms as wide as I could.War Isn't Something You Lie About- Ch 61 year ago in Settings More Like This
I sighed, "Be safe Pippa… Take care of Mother for me… I'll write often," I stood up. I gave them both a goodbye kiss and walked off. It hurt that Pippa didn't care that I was leaving. I thought I meant something to her. There was a long silence as I left.
"JACK!" Pippa yelled. I turned around, and Pippa was crying as she ran to me. My eyes widened and I bent down so she clashed into my arms. I hugged her tightly. She sobbed, "Jack please don't go! Please! You may not come home! Please don't leave!" she yelled. I didn't let her go, "I will come home
