I love drawing and painting my characters so my friend always picks a full cast for each of my stories based on the looks and attitudes described for each character, and I draw/paint them.
Most of my works feature the cast picked for the characters of a Young Adult novel, "The Autumnal Equinox".
"The Autumnal Equinox" is a Fantasy/Romance dual narrative story about seventeen-year-old Michael and his girlfriend Anahita, who live under dictatorship and in a pretty controlled society. Soon Anahita reveals her true identity to Michael, and lets him know that he belongs to another society, much more powerful than humans.
As Michael discovers his powers and realizes the truth about his real family, he begins to question his presumptions about good and evil, and even his sense of moral

"Why didn't you tell me?"
He wouldn't meet my gaze or respond.
"I'm sorry!" he blurted. "I assumed you knew!"
I snorted. "Bollocks, nobody tells me anything. Why ever would you think that my mother would tell her own daughter squat?"
We were in the attic and I had cornered him against the far wallI was fed up with not knowing and being treated like a child, and Benjamin was practically cowering from the vehemence of my ire.
"I already told you I was sorry!" he cried out. "What else do you want me to say, Sara?"
"So you're trying to tell me that during all the hours we've spent together, you never once thought to mention that Aunt Jo was trying to smuggle you out of the goddamn country? I thought we were supposed to tell each other thingscommunicate our feelings; that's what friends do! But instead you go slinking about, keeping secrets from me, just like everyone else!" I cried out.
"Believe it or not, Sara, the world does not revolve around you," he shoots b

Theme: My own favs with less than 50 favs
To be fair, there are a rare few with 51 favs in #36
Now, some people's art end up more regularly among my favourites and some I stumbled upon and went "fav crazy". I've gathered them all up here, and just as always in my fav features - it's just my favourites which have under 50 favs (since it was a couple of days I gathered them up some might have gotten more by now). This fav feature is the first of it's kind and last for this time.

This is why I don't add people on Facebook.
Incidentally, it's creeps like this who also made me lose interest in drawing Clopin in the first place. Needless to say I finally figured out how to block people on that site.

Our London deviantMEET Was Brilliant! On Saturday, June 14, 2009, deviantART held a deviantMEET at the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park. Over 350 deviants showed up to celebrate all things deviantART, setting a record for the highest attended deviantMEET in history in the process... until now.Our London deviantMEET Was Brilliant!3 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
Almost exactly three years later -- on Saturday, June 30, 2012 -- at the same location in Hyde Park, London deviants once again turned up in droves. Smashing the previous record, our London deviantMEET 2012 saw over 550 deviants throughout the day.
Most deviantMEETs include a group photo, usually taken towards the end of the event's festivities. However, we wasted no time taking our group shot in front of the Albert Memorial, as we wanted to ensure we were complying with Hyde Park's rules and regulations for large gatherings. With a group this massive -- and awesome -- it's hard not to draw attention!

And we will be uploading videos from YouTube day by day for people who do not have Nicktoons.

Update to the Deviation PageDuring the past month, we've been testing a number of changes to deviation pages. As the tests were ongoing, we monitored performance and community feedback, allowing us to make adjustments and improvements along the way. to all the people who have ever considered suicideThere is always a reason to keep fighting. I do not care how pitiful your life is, how seemingly insignificant, how painfulyou do matter. You matter to someone: perhaps it's your mother, your father, your friend. Perhaps it's someone you haven't even met yet, but that's part of the adventure, isn't it? There is always something more to come. Every human life is so incredibly and insurmountably precious. And I will not sit here and tell you that there are people who have it worse than you, because that's silly and useless. In your world, you feel alone and desperate and you feel as if nothing, nothing could ever make you feel happy or even functional again, and that is your world. You feel as if your life, your universe, everything you ever thought about yourself and the people around you is crumbling and crashing down. But I can guarantee that it will get better. I promise you. I promise.to all the people who have ever considered suicide3 years ago in Personal More Like This

i have always been a huge fan of art books. in fact i would say that 99 percent of my bookshelves are filled with art books ranging from animation to fashion design and everything visual in between. it was partly why i am so excited to have produced my own book, Walking Your Octopus. one of my goals with this project was to create an art book that was also an art object and this vision guided every aspect of the book's production. as we all know ebooks are becoming more and more popular and i struggled with how my book which was a celebration of all things analog might fit into the digital space. fortunately my very creative friend eric, had the solution...Aereoscope.

Why Authors Kill Off CharactersI can actually answer this question, at least for myself. Coming from the perspective of a hopefully-soon-tobe-published author, I think killing off main characters is a sign of maturity as a writer. When authors coddle their characters and give them whatever they want, the end result is often spoiled, hard-to-relate-to characters who get happy endings handed to them on a silver platter. Take Twilight, for example. In all four 400-600 page novels, not one pivotal "good" character dies. And what are we left with? Little character development, no themes or lessons to be learned, and the acute feeling that the books were more like fairytales with all the characters skipping off into the sunset hand-in-hand. Admit it: you remember a book that made you cry more than a book that made you smile. Every classic novel that has withstood the test of time features some sort of death, agony, suffering or all of the above. Suffering builds character. And sometimes, killing a character is necessary fWhy Authors Kill Off Characters3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Serif — Roman
In the last two article of the type design series we made a geometric sans serif and added italics and a bold weight. The geometric sans serif is the easiest style to do, but for me personally things really get interesting with serif typefaces. Of course there is the addition of serifs, but the structure and weight distribution is also much more advanced. In this article I will make an introduction to designing serif typefaces. This article won’t be as detailed as the previous ones because this third article serves as an expansion on the first two. In other words, I won’t get into the basic vector tools or type principles, nor will I show you how to design the letters step by step. I will explain techniques in detail when necessary, but generally I will refer to the techniques described in the first article particularly. So if necessary go back to the pre
I Street Therefore I Am - 01"Defining Street Photography" what the heck does it even mean?!I Street Therefore I Am - 012 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Street Photography is about documenting 'reality' as it happens around us: On the street, in a pub, at the beach, malls...
Funny that this particular style of photography was popularized - or dare I say, 'conceived' by people who themselves
had a rather 'surrealist' outlook towards life - which kind of explains the irrational juxtapositions between the subject
and the environment often evidenced in modern Street Photography.

Eugène Atget (February 12, 1857 – August 4, 1927). His photographs inspired many artists - surrealists especially.

I'm starting the giveaways again,
While my Guitar Gently WeepsI'm sure many of you already know this but for those who don't, late August 23, Jerry Nelson [Floyd Pepper, Count Von Count, Gobo Fraggle and so on] passed away. Jerry was one of the greats, in my [and I'm sure many] opinion, he was the voice of the Muppets, whenever someone talks of a beautiful song, it's normally sung by him. Makes sense since he said once if it wasn't for Jim giving him a job, he would of become a Folk singer [by the way, his CD is really nice, a mix of silly and beauty.]While my Guitar Gently Weeps2 years ago in Personal More Like This
At first when I found out I was stunned, but after a little time, it's ok, Jerry has raised many of us to love music, to count, to adventure, and to laugh. Now, he has gone to the Rainbow Connection, he will be preforming once more with Richard Hunt. He will see old friends, and lost loved ones. Jerry lived a long life, leaving us plenty to remember, so this is why I feel, while tears are inevitable, that we should celebrate, as we did with Jim, and as we did with Richard, we should grab our instru
