In time he will cross the waters, and victory will be sweet.
Used 3 of the contest images and one from the the stock project. The boulders in the forground and birds in the background are my own photo's. Water was created with the aid of the Flood filter, the waterfall is a special brush.
My favorite artist is Salvador Dali, the clock I draped around the rock someting like Dali did is some of his works. I copied the number of the clock and gave them a 3D feel, something similar I did with the clock hands and gave them a new shadow. I added a glass feel and reflections with in it a reflection of a sky, another photo in my collection.
I determined to design him to be a legendary warrior. This charactor is some kind a very important and special secret charactor in the game. He is not a juvenile warrior but has experience and genius middle-age man.
I have always been a huge fan of zombie movies and the 'what ifs' that come with them. The thought of the world ending with nearly every human being in existence either being turned into or devoured by flesh eating monsters is scary. Every day would literally be a fight for survival.
Copic markers and multiliners.
Edit: Didn't win the contest but I'm extremely excited to have been chosen as one of the 25 semifinalists! Click the 'view winners' button above to see the awesome entries that oh so deservedly beat mine out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
My submission for the Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls contest ... WOHO, I made it on time! xD Had just a few days available, so I'm really glad to have got it done. Didn't look other submissions up until now, because I knew I'd never participate if I did. I was right, the other stuff is so amazing O_O Well, I decided to go with the templar, but take my own spin on him. Took some concept art as reference, took the main features from there, but designed it a little bit differently. Will upload a timelapse vid in a couple of days as well Didn't want to make a too dark picture, but was aiming to get a mixture between ingame-style and Blizzards awe-inspiring cinematics, without getting it too realistic, wanted to keep the painterly look. Guess most other stuff uploaded is much darker ... well, I didn't want that this time :3
This one was fun. It changed a few times, but I finally got the lines finished. Then it sat there for a few days, while I tried to figure out how I wanted to color it. Everything came together though, and I can say I am very pleased with it. It was a load of fun to do.
When I saw the sckibble, I thought of two entities circling each other, something . The first draft was some very abstract aliens. They did not seem quite right, so I kep going back and tweeking the features, and as I refined it, the creatures emerged more so as a mutant shark and whale.
Edit: forgot to mention that this image is designed so you can flip it around and view it from other degrees of orientation.
