There are ugly people out there
Not just on the outside
But on the inside too
There are horrible people
Who are pretty
And there are ugly people
Who are perfect
So when you say
That's a lie
There are ugly people out there
Inside and out
Thoughts of you.I could not think back to the time you looked in my eyes. You directly looked into my soul. Your soul embraced my soul.Thoughts of you.2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Your smile embraced my body. I felt the warmth of your glance. And all I ever wanted was to feel your kiss. To feel your soft lips on mine.
Your hugs, your touches, the goosebumps on my skin.
And then I realized you were imaginary.

Ten little deviants, all online,
One went invisible, and then there were nine.
Nine little deviants, staying up very late,
One missed a deadline, and then there were eight.
Eight little deviants, cosplaying as Britain,
One found a new fandom, and then there were seven.
Seven little deviants, writing about the River Styx,
One got published, and then there were six.
Six little deviants, having trouble with their hard-drive,
One crashed, and then there were five.
Five little deviants, looking for more,
One got himself banned, and then there were four.
Four little deviants, asking for points you see,
One got a Premium Membership, and then there were three.
Three little deviants, all in a chatroom,
One found a new RP, and then there were two.
Two little deviants, went outside to see the sun,
One got bored, and then there was one.
One little deviant, staring at his screen alone,
Closed their laptop, and then there were none.
Dear TeacherIn Year Seven:Dear Teacher1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
You were my geography teacher.
I really hated you.
Loathed you too.
You gave me bad marks
And shouted at my larks.
You were the enemy.
In Year Eight:
You became my form tutor.
You were our fifth.
We were determined to
Break you like the others
And get onto the sixth.
In Year Nine:
You saw the angry red vents
Carved into my skin.
And I let you in.
In Year Ten:
I lost it all.
You were there,
Fighting for me.
You made me care
About my future.
In Year Eleven:
We made each other laugh.
And in the end
You weren’t just a teacher;
You were my friend.

Out extended the unwelcome arm,
for my soul to take...
My shadow, with me, trembled,
knowing no way away,
from this inevitable ending of my own.
The pillars of my legs crumbled,
and down I fell...
The arm hesitated,
and to the side tilted the head,
from which came its orders.
Of golden bone was it made,
and its base disappeared
into the caverns its sleeve....
Shying from my sight.
The Robe was black
with a fine woven silk.
I beheld none but black,
and only by will
was any other sight
begotten to my terrified eyes.
Eyes of sapphire gazed down on me,
as my back fell to the ground in terror...
Paralyzed was I in the presence of Death,
But it made no haste against me.
"I am Time, just as history knows me."
He spoke as despondence dove to my ears.
To me did Death speak, as it always had,
but with gentle motion did it cry out...
Yelling to grasp my thought, as it knelt before me.
the leaves beneath it made no cries of pain...
as they were already dead, and decaying.
Again the sapphir

How to love a girl who can't love herself.one.How to love a girl who can't love herself.1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
When she cries herself to sleep
six out of seven nights a week you must
say nothing. You must simply take
her in your arms and kiss her gaunt,
pale cheeks and wait for her to
slumber at the sound of your heart.
On the days where she wishes she
were part of the stars, tell her
no. Tell her that there are too many
lights in the sky and that just one
would be forgotten the moment you looked
away from it. Tell her that she is perfect
the way she is: completely human.
Don't let her think about the scars
that no one but her can see. If she
says "I think I'm broken" smile like you
know a secret and say, "No, you're mending."
But do not be the one to fix her - no, she
Where the Desert SleepsI knew the milesWhere the Desert Sleeps7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
before the markers, I found the west
by walking with the sun. I said,
there are lizards in my blood,
there is sandstone in my teeth.
I said, I am the light's daughter,
I am a cactus wren.
This is my home among the thorns.
I said to trees, to starlight,
I said to graves and streets and men,
and you said,
Girlchild, I live too far out in the desert.
I whispered into corners, I wove into
papyrus: I am the light's daughter,
I am a cactus wren,
I raised my hand from lifetimes of loving,
died and dried to crispy bones
so you would find me
still with your name between my teeth, and you said,
The desert has me. It writes my name
But I said,
I know where the desert sleeps.

That never ends
Alone in this place
I am condemned
Cursed to this life
Which has no plan
The pain in my heart
can no more expand
Watching and waiting
Just wishing to die
My soul is aching
My dreams cannot fly
I'm a person with talent,
A future to uphold,
But those are just many
Lies I have been told
I feel like I'm walking,
But not going any where
There is plenty of time,
But not one second to spare
Why am I still living?
What do I expect?
That an angel will come down
And save me from this wreck!?
Yet...there must be a small
Hope hiding inside,
Because surely I would
Have already died
How will I find this
Hope I seek?
When everything I hold
is so dark and so bleak
This must be the treasure
I've been waiting to find.
I cannot wait until the day
I will claim it as mine!
Hopefully, it's truth
will not stand to wait,
Because too soon,
Will be too late.

from tiny boats,
sampans and coracles -
red sails threading the sky
like poppies in the autumn sun.
Whales slip through waves
hunting silvered krill
and the spiny dusk
of urchins clinging to the sand.
And they wait
for lines to pull
their hands under
glistening with eel
hauling the afternoon
back to market
in hempen nets.

made him fly so high
that he could look down on heaven,
With her he could be himself
no worries; no fear
only his heart beating loudly in his ears,
He wondered; could she ever accept his love?
Would she reject him, crush him beneath her heel?
Or would she embrace him, past and all?
He remembers that night they spent together
laying there, whispering
their hands seeking out each other in the dark,
Even in the silence, her eyes spoke volumes to him
poetry, prose; novels, even
all a beautiful rhapsody to his soul,
She was a mystery to him, just begging to be solved
he wanted to know all about her
nothing could keep him from loving her,
As they slowly lost themselves in each other;
as she buried her face in his neck,
he finally confessed:
"I want to learn you, inside out."

Cross the line
Dreams are lost
Each one costs
Good girls cried
Guesses and ifs
Hearts ripped up
Held with string
In the pub,
Just one breath
Just one step
Kiss with death
Kill the prep
Lose your mind
Mind no pain
Miss 'I'm blind'
No more love
One from above
Pass by me
Please don't hurt
Queen of seas
Rest your heart
Stand and shiver
Test my strength
Try, I'll bleed
We're the hope

You strangled me
As I snuggled into your hugs
I remember your joy
Toying with my lungs
I remember the excitement
The bruises you left
Told me to "look at the concept"
As you sneered at me, you never left
Oh I smiled as you burned my flesh
There I go thinking of the past, it's dead
Here I go feeling no peace, just dread
You'll never get to break me
Emotion's ran me deep
They had prevented me from sleep
I looked elsewhere ignoring them
And yet the emotions tried to brush my lips again
I want to tell you, my sweet emotions,
I used to be yours
The past is, the past
And little by little, I don't know you anymore
I remember how you buckled me
The ground felt so heavenly
Your needle pierced me deep
You held on tight
I waited on you; you never gave me the time
I remember the dead silence
The hard stop, as everything slipped
And suddenly all was balanced
The nothingness ringed
Your silence made me scream
There I go thinking of the past, it's a
