The weather forecast had predicted a heavy downpour on the day of Halloween, but fortunately for three friends the rain stopped that morning so they could enjoy a night of trick or treating. Hannah, Cliff, and Aaron were only 7th graders, just part of the way through middle school. They got together three weeks before Halloween to decide how they would make it the most epic ever! The plan was simple. They would work together to make the costumes, work together to gather candy, and work together to eat it all. All of it would be done as a team. So they got to work immediately.
Hannah wanted to go as a MIB agent and needed a suit, so Cliff lent her a black suit and tie with fine shoes and Aaron gave her a toy laser gun he used to have when he was in elementary school. They both chipped in to bring her a pair of nice black sunglasses. Aaron wanted to go as a panther, so Hannah gave him a big black hoodie and sewed two cat ears on the hood, while Cliff used a long black sock as a tail to s

My sister and I panted as we continued our hike in the woods. Trees overshadowed us in all directions, which was our only saving grace. It had to have been like 90 degrees here, so I could just imagine how hot it’d be if the trees were not actually here.
“Why are we doing this?” asked my sister insistently. “Can we go home yet? I’m tired! I’m bored!”
Did I mention my sister was only 5? I, of course, am much older, almost 18. I guess you could say that my sister was a little “mistake” that happened.
“We’re almost there,” I said, trying to hide the fact that I was winded myself. We had to have hike for about 5 miles on this trail. Well, more I hiked 4 miles carrying my sister, she’s probably only walked one.
“Carry me!” she yelled. I sighed and leaned down for her to grab onto my back.
“Ow!” she yelled. I spun around, and there she was, her foot caught in a root. I pulled the root away a

I look around the large greenhouse, pure boredom etched into my face as I take in the vast sea of green, the occasional splash of red or yellow from various flowers dotted about. A bead of sweat slowly trickles down my forehead, and I wipe it away with a hand. I want nothing more right now than to leave; it’s too hot, it’s too humid, and there is literally nothing of interest here.
Well… nothing of interest for me at least, I muse to myself as my younger sister darts past me, eyes wide open with curiosity and inquisitiveness. On the face of a 10 year old, that looks nothing but adorable. Unfortunately for me I have a soft spot for my sister, and she knows it all too well. I get the impression she plays on this more than I should
The Costume Shop: Daisy (17/30)You have just arrived to a brand new costume shop. It was heavily advertised as being "able to get you into character," their commercials showing animated people turning into whatever costume they put on, essentially becoming that form. They retained memory and all, and it was a big push for quality costumes. Business was generally very good for a while. The advertising team wanted to use SFX to have real people become the costumes, as a test showed that people would enjoy actual people and would sell costumes better. With business on the decline, they had no choice but to go for that advice. However, all SFX teams who were able to do it were much to expensive, leaving the store in a jam. Luckily, they found a someone willing to do it for free, granted they used the costumes he had hand made. He would also need his own space in the store for the filming, which the store agreed too. The man set up his area in the back of the store, along with a closet for the costumes to be used. You weThe Costume Shop: Daisy (17/30)10 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
